Možná jsem sem dnes neměl chodit, možná opravdu ne. Jenže mě probudily mé noční můry, mí démoni, kteří mě pozvali na noční obřad na nedalekém hřbitově. Z černé mlhy se začaly ozývat mocné zvuky záhrobí. Hroby se otvíraly a nemrtví mi šli po krku. Nebe mělo barvu krve a smrt byla tak blízko. Vstupuji do chrámu bolesti, zdravím své death metalové předky. Napjatá atmosféra by se dala krájet. Ostrým nožem nebo poctivou, brutální hudbou. Někde tam vzadu, pod křížem, který visí směrem dolů, je rakev s nápisem CONQUEST ICON.
A v ní i druhé dlouhohrající album kapely, které nese název "Empire of the Worm". Zapínám play a z reproduktorů se na mě vyhrne smršť ryzího, uvěřitelného death metalu, který je mocný, temný, chladný a ostrý, jako čerstvě nabroušené skalpely. Smrt, která je nasáklá černotou!
CONQUEST ICON velice šikovně balancují mezi death metalem a blackem. Skladby jsou velmi dobře napsány, album vás nenechá ani na chvilku vydechnout. Pestrý koktejl ze špíny, drásavých riffů, mocného vokálu, drtivých bicích. To vše zabalené v nekonečné tmě. Opatřeno skvělým průrazným a čitelným zvukem, s obalem, za který by se nemuseli stydět padlí kněží. Tohle všechno dohromady mě doslova přikovalo ke zdi. Kapela je ovlivněna americkým stylem death metalu, ale vše je podáváno originálně, přesně tak, jak to umí jen polské smečky. Navíc cítím z desky touhu rozervat nás na kusy, roztrhat, vypálit nám cejch na naše nebohá těla. Album má neskutečný drive a feeling a na dlouhou dobu se stalo mým průvodcem při záhrobních rituálech. Nezapomíná se ani na pomalejší, morbidnější chvilky, podávané s vkusem a samozřejmostí. V CONQUEST ICON se sešli muzikanti, kteří moc dobře ví, o čem je smrt. Umí navodit atmosféru, vtáhnout nás do děje. Já při poslechu opravdu potkávám své vlastní noční můry, své démony, kteří se mnou chtějí za zvuků "Empire of the Worm" tančit na hrobech. Morbidní, surový a temný death metal, který vás uhrane a prokleje. Až na věky amen!

Maybe I shouldn't have come here today, maybe not really. But I was awakened by my nightmares, my demons, who invited me to a night ceremony in a nearby cemetery. The mighty sounds of the grave began to come from the black mist. The graves opened and the undead went down my throat. The sky was the colour of blood and death was so close. I enter the temple of pain, greeting my death metal ancestors. The tense atmosphere could be cut by a sharp knife or honest, brutal music. Somewhere in the back, under the cross, which hangs downwards, there is a casket with the inscription CONQUEST ICON.
And in casket is the second full-length album which is called "Empire of the Worm". I turn on the play and a whirlwind of pure, believable death metal, which is powerful, dark, cold and sharp, like freshly sharpened scalpels, rolls out of the speakers. Death soaked in blackness!
CONQUEST ICON balances death metal and black very cleverly. The songs are very well written, the album will not let you breathe for a moment. A colourful cocktail of dirt, tantalizing riffs, powerful vocals, crushing drums. All wrapped in endless darkness. Equipped with a great piercing and legible sound, with a cover that fallen priests should not be ashamed of. All this together literally nailed me to the wall. The band is influenced by the American style of death metal, but everything is served in an original way, exactly as only Polish bands can. In addition, I feel the desire from the album to tear us to pieces, to burn our mark on our poor bodies. The album has an incredible drive and feeling and for a long time it became my guide to grave rituals. Not to forget the slower, more morbid moments, served with taste and naturalness. CONQUEST ICON brought together musicians who know very well what death is all about. It can create an atmosphere, draw us into the action. When I listen, I really meet my own nightmares, my demons who want to dance with me on graves to the sounds of "Empire of the Worm". Morbid, raw and dark death metal that will enchant and curse you. Forever amen!
