CD 2018, Satanath Records for english please scroll down Symfonie smrti a zla. Košatý strom, na jehož větvích visí krvavé kusy melodií. Roztříštěné lebky, kosti povalující se všude kolem. Morbidní skládanka pro náročné posluchače. Zrůdné myšlenky, definice tmy a šílenství. Všechno tohle a ještě mnohé navíc mě napadá při poslechu nové desky českých black/death metalových MALLEPHYR. Lidé se snaží nahlédnout na onen svět odnepaměti. Málokomu se to podaří. Troufám si tvrdit, že na novince nejen že MALLEPHYR otevřeli brány do pekla, ale ještě v záhrobí způsobili pořádnou paniku. Tahle hudba totiž zabíjí na potkání. Bez varování, přímo a rovnou. S velkým talentem i řemeslnou zručností.
Sleduji kapelu od jejich počátků a musím vyseknout poklonu. Pánové urazili obrovský kus cesty. A to jak po skladatelské stránce, tak i po zvukové. Novinka je špinavější, komplikovanější, zpočátku lehce nepřehledná, ale po čase až magická. Posluchač je doslova přikován k přehrávači, protože ve skladbách se neustále něco děje. Nahrávka je plná změn nálad, různých zvratů, vynikajících bicích a vokálu, který bych nečekal (je velmi variabilní a pestrý). Odkazy na polskou, finskou, jihoamerickou, případně švédskou extrémní scénu jsou sice pořád patrné, ale jsou to spíše ozvěny, lehká inspirace. Jako celek působí "Womb of Worms" velmi kompaktním dojmem a i když je náležitě nepříjemná, tak se opravdu dobře poslouchá. Až zase potkám své vlastní démony a budou se mě ptát, jakou hudbu bych jim doporučil, a kterou považuji za syrovou, šílenou, maniakální, ošklivou a zlou, s klidem jim nový počin od MALLEPHYR nadšeně doporučím. Vždyť co může být lepšího, než spočinout pod temně bolestivým stromem smrti. Nasávám hnilobu, hnis a prašivinu! Peklo má hodně podob a to které se odehrává na "Womb of Worms" je jedním slovem démonické! Inferno!

The symphony of Death and Evil. A patulous tree, on whose branches hang bloody pieces of melodies. Crushed skulls, bones lying everywhere. Morbid puzzle for demanding listeners. Freaky thoughts, definitions of darkness and madness. All these things and even more came to mind during the listening to the new album of Czech black/death metal band MALLEPHYR.
People are trying to peep into the other world within living memory. Not everyone is successful. I dare to say that MALLEPHYR on the new record didn’t only open the gates to hell, but additionally, they caused the huge panic there. This music kills immediately. Without warning, straight and directly. With great talent and skills.
I follow the band since their beginnings, and I have to pay a compliment to them. Gentlemen have passed a great piece of journey concerning both points, composing of the music and sound, too. The new record is dirtier, more complicated, initially slightly confusing, but over the time it is magical. The listener is literally attached to the player because there is always something happening in the songs. The record is full of mood changes, different transitions, excellent drums and vocals that I would not expect (very variable and miscellaneous). References to the Polish, Finnish, South American, or Swedish extreme metal scene are still visible, but they are rather echoes, only slight inspiration. As a whole, "Womb of Worms" acts by a very compact impression, and although it is quite unpleasant, listening is on the other hand really great. When I will meet my own demons again, and they will ask me what kind of music I would recommend to them, and which I consider being raw, crazy, maniacal, ugly and evil, with a clear conscience I will enthusiastically recommend the new MALLEPHYR album. What can be better than rest under the dark, painful tree of the death? I suck the rot, purulence, and scabbiness! Hell has a lot of forms, and that one, which is included on the album "Womb of Worms" is demonic! Inferno!

CD 2018, Spinefarm Records for english please scroll down Bývaly časy, kdy jsme na každé nové album VENOM netrpělivě čekali. Byli pro nás synonymem tvrdé muziky, jedni z otců zakladatelů a živoucí legenda. Pamatuji doby, kdy jsme s kamarády stávali dlouhé hodiny před obchodem a rozechvělí jsme pak běželi domů k přehrávači. Těšili jsme se na další muziku, na nové peklo. Řešili jsme každý detail, nakreslenou lebku, probírali každý tón, text. Cronos a jeho věrní jsou zde stále s námi. Zaplať Satan za to! Je dobře, že i dnes máme možnost si poslechnout hudbu, která se stala předlohou a základem extrémních stylů. A jak je na tom novinka? Myslím, že velmi dobře. VENOM ničím nepřekvapují a je to tak správně.
"Storm the Gates" je album, které se rozprostírá na dlouhých 53 minutách. Kapela nahrála desku hlavně pro svoje věrné fanoušky. Mix starodávného heavy metalu, speedu, blacku, to je to, co umí VENOM nejlépe. Stále se drží svého stylu, u jehož zrodu kdysi stáli. Osobně mám na Britech nejraději syrově nazvučenou basu, Cronosův "ujetý" vokál a potom pasáže, ve kterých jsou temní a chladní. Letos mě zaujal i parádně provedený obal, který přesně vystihuje to, co se na desce odehrává - zlo ze starých metalových učebnic. VENOM zkrátka nahráli další kus poctivého kovu. Vykováno v britských katakombách, odlito ze žhavé lávy. Berte a nebo nechte být! Pro mě je nakonec stejně nejdůležitější, že během poslechu cítím síru. Klasika od nejpověřenějších! Znovu oživený kult, politý mrtvou vodou. Chemie stále funguje a peklo otevřelo svoje brány. Za mě spokojenost, ale znáte to, já jsem stará škola, kapela mě provází celý můj život, tak berte má slova s nadhledem. Solidní pocta Luciferovi!

There were times when we were waiting impatiently for every new album of VENOM. They were synonym of hard music, one of the founding fathers and a living legends. I remember the time when my buddies and I stood for hours in front of the store, and then we running home to the player. We were looking forward to more music, new hell. We solved every detail, the skull drawn, talk about every tone, text.
Cronos and his faithful are still here with us. Pay Satan for it! It is good that even today we have the opportunity to listen to the music that has become the basis of extreme styles. And what about novelty? I think it is very well. VENOM is not surprising and it is right.
„Storm the Gates" is an album that lasts for 53 minutes. The band recorded the album mainly for their loyal fans. Mixing ancient heavy metal, speed, black, that's what VENOM can do best. They still keeps their style, which they help to create. Personally, I prefer the british bass, Cronos's "crazy" vocal, and then passages in which they are dark and cool. This year, I have also been impressed by a well-executed cover that accurately describes what is happening on the album - the evil of old metal textbooks. VENOM simply recorded another piece of honest metal. Ripened in the British Catacombs, cast out of the hot lava. Take it or let it be! It is ultimately the for me that I feel sulphur during listening. Classic from the best! A revived cult, polished by dead water. Chemistry still works and hell opened its gates. I am satisfied, but you know it, I'm an old school, I’ve followed this band my whole life, so take my words with insight. A solid tribute to Lucifer!
CD 2018, Rat Pak Records for english please scroll down Jsou okamžiky, kdy je ve vzduchu cítit elektřina. Výboje v těžkém vzduchu přicházející bouřky, kolem transformátorů, v dlaních lidí, kteří jsou nabiti velkou vnitřní silou. Zpozorována byla v galeriích s krásnými obrazy, mezi dvojicemi, co se mají opravdu rádi. Dříve byla považována za zázrak a určité tajemno ji obestírá stále. Osobně ale cítím jiskřivou energii nejvíce z hudby. Troufám si tvrdit, že nová deska legendárních METAL CHURCH je jí narvaná doslova po okraj.
Po podobných kapelách nemůžete chtít žádné změny stylu. Jednak by to byla škoda a hlavně, fanoušci by jim to stejně neodpustili. Proč také měnit něco, co dokonale funguje a je dohnáno k dokonalosti? Na novince je vše. Středně řezající pasáže, vypalovačky, i pomalejší kousky, které se každému, kdo se kdy jen trošku otřel o heavy metal, musí zarýt hluboko pod kůži.
Při poslechu "Damned If You Do" je pro mě nejdůležitější asi to, že se nenudím ani chvilku. Z desky doslova na všechny strany cáká žhavá láva, nadšení, chuť hrát. Nejedná se tak jen o perfektně zvládnuté řemeslo, ale album je neskutečně přitažlivé. Je to podobné jako se ženskými, některé mohou být sebekrásnější a nikdo se po nich neohlédne a pak potkáte dívku, která má v sobě fluidum. Zvuk je vlastně dokonalý, chladný a ostrý zároveň, s výbušným potenciálem. A potom ten hlas, Mike Howe je zkrátka a jednoduše heavy metalový bůh! Tolik emocí, skvělá barva vokálu a variabilita. Když poslouchám novou nahrávku "Damned If You Do", připadá mi, že každou chvíli přijde bouřka. Mraky se dotknou země a blesk udeří přímo do mě. METAL CHURCH jsou letos opět ve vynikající formě. Nevím, jak to dělají, ale znovu mě rozsekali. Tohle je heavy metal par excellence! Vynikající!

There are moments when the electricity is in the air. Discharges in the heavy air of coming thunderstorm, around the transformers, in the palms of people, who are charged with great inner strength. It was spotted in galleries with beautiful pictures, between couples who really like each other. Previously, it was considered as a miracle and some mystery is still circulating it. Personally, however, I feel the sparkling energy from the music. I dare to say that the new album of legendary METAL CHURCH is literally loaded by it.
From similar bands, you can not want any style changes. First, it would be a pity and, above all, fans would not have forgiven them. Why also change something that works perfectly? On the new album is everything. Medium-cutting parts, burners, and slower bits that everyone has ever wiped off heavy metal has to get deep under the skin.
When listening to "Damned If You Do", the most important thing for me is that I will not be bored at all. The album is literally full of lava, enthusiasm, and taste to play. This is not just a perfectly crafted work, but the album is incredibly appealing. It is similar as with women's, some may be more beautiful and no one will look after them, and then you meet a girl who has an aura. Sound is actually perfect, cool and sharp at the same time, with explosive potential. And then that voice, Mike Howe is simply a heavy metal god! So much emotion, great vocal color and variability. When I listen to the new record "Damned If You Do", it seems to me that a storm will come at any moment. The clouds touch the ground and the lightning strikes directly into me. METAL CHURCH are again in excellent form this year. I do not know how they do it, but they cut me off again. This is heavy metal par excellence! Really great!
Nejhorší to bývalo po veřejných popravách. Často mě ani nenechali připravit tělo na pohřeb. Zástupy těch, kteří věřili, že kus oprátky, oběšencova košile, případně část useknutého prstu ochrání jejich duše od všeho zlého. Jakoby cokoliv z popravených vrahů, násilníků a maniaků mohlo způsobit něco dobrého. Opak byl pravdou, často se stávalo, že jsem slýchával nářek jejich obětí, loučili se s těmi, kdo je sprovodili ze světa.
Usychající krev na popravčí lavici, dneska se pětinásobný vrah pěkně cukal. Bývají těžká, chladná a chmurná rána pod šibenicí. Připomínají mi nové album kanadských starosvětských death metalistů OUTRE-TOMBE. Jsou stejně syrová, depresivní a zahlcená zkaženou krví. Smrtící kov je zde podáván na rovinu, na hrobníkově lopatě.
"Nécrovortex" otevírá hroby stejným způsobem, jako to dělaly kapely ASPHYX, AUTOPSY, BENEDICTION, MORGOTH, PESTILENCE. Zvuk je poctivě hnilobný, vytažený snad odněkud ze starých katakomb. Na kapele je vidět a slyšet, že je plně oddána hrobnickému řemeslu. Hudba musela vznikat v opuštěných márnicích, nápady byly dodány těmi nejvíc mrtvými zombie a výsledek si můžete poslechnout sami. Pro nás, co jsme se k death metalu dostali v devadesátých letech, se jedná o vzácný rezavý artefakt. Mám opravdu pocit, že jsem odsouzencem na smrt, čekám ve své cele a k poslední večeři mi pouštějí tvorbu OUTRE-TOMBE. Kapela mě zve na dlouhý nekonečný výlet za řeku Styx. Nebude to dlouho trvat, už zítra ráno mi zlomí vaz. Těším se, podobný death metal mi totiž koluje v krvi odnepaměti. Skvělá smrtící deska, která vás popraví tím nejkrutějším způsobem!

After the public executions, it used to be the worst. Often, they did not let me prepare a body for a funeral. The crowds of those who believed that a piece of the rope, the shirt of the executed man, or a part of a cut finger, would protect their souls from all evil. As if anything from the executed murderers, rapists or maniacs could bring something good. However, the opposite is true; it was very frequent that I heard the lamentation of their victims, while they were saying goodbye to those who drove them out of the world.
Dry blood on the execution bench, today a serial killer was hanged and he nicely flounced before he died. The mornings under the gallows used to be heavy, cold and gloomy. They remind me the new album of Canadian death metalists, OUTRE-TOMBE. They are equally raw, depressed, and overwhelmed by the putrid blood. The death metal is served here frankly, on the grave digger’s shovel.
"Nécrovortex" is opening the tombs by the same manner as the bands like ASPHYX, AUTOPSY, BENEDICTION, MORGOTH, PESTILENCE. The sound is honestly putrid, ripped out from somewhere of the old catacombs. Here you can see and hear that the band is devoted to the craft called "digging the graves". This music had had to be written in the abandoned mortuaries, the most dead zombies had provided the ideas and the result you can listen to by yourself. For us, who came to the death metal at the nineties, this album represents a rare rusty artifact. I really feel like I'm a sentenced to death and I wait in my cell, while the OUTRE-TOMBE album they play for me there as my last dinner. The band invites me to a long, endless trip over the Styx River. It will not take so long time, already tomorrow morning they are breaking my neck. I am looking forward because the similar death metal I have in my veins since time immemorial. A great deadly record that will execute you by the cruelest way!

Byl jsem čestným hostem v galerii smrti. Na stěnách visely obrazy plné utrpení, násilí, mučení a šílenství. Lidské tělo se stalo jen nástrojem pro krvavé rituály. Šibenice, tortura, napichování na kůly, lámání v kole. Už jen pohled na morbidní díla děsil. Do maleb byla otisknuta veškerá bolest, kterou může člověk zažít. Ne, to nebyl středověk, ale doba nedávno minulá. Z reproduktorů zazněla první skladba z nové desky polských SYMBOLICAL a celá scenérie ještě víc potemněla. Inferno!
Novinka s příznačným názvem "Allegory of Death" je mocným nástrojem pro vyvolání těch nejtemnějších představ a nočních můr. Album mě ihned přeneslo do světa strachu, šílenství a bolesti.
"Allegory of Death" je perfektní nahrávkou po všech stránkách. Vše je dopilováno k dokonalosti. Řezající riffy, krutý hlas, spousta zajímavých nápadů. Inspirace kapelami jako BEHEMOTH, MASACHIST, AZARATH, INFERNAL DEATH, HERITAGE, ale i třeba IMMOLATION, HATE ETERNAL je sice patrná a jasně zřetelná, ale to nic nemění na tom, že se deska neskutečně povedla. Asi nejvíc oceňuji chladnou a temnou atmosféru, gradující strukturu skladeb a neodbytný pocit, že mi jde někdo během celého poslechu po krku. Skvělý je zvuk i obal, celkové provedení. Jakoby SYMBOLICAL vyprávěli pradávné příběhy o smrti. Určitě znáte chvíle, kdy máte pocit, že se rozpadnete na tisíc kousků. Všechno vás bolí, svět je zastřený v mlhavém oparu. Do hlavy vám pronikají ostré hroty šílenství. Tak přesně takto vnímám i nový počin "Allegory of Death". Vynikající death metalové album, které připomíná návštěvu galerie smrti!

I was a guest of honor in the death gallery. Paintings full of misery, violence, torture, and madness hung on the walls. The human body has become just a tool for the bloody rituals. Gallows, torture, impalement, breaking on the wheel. Just a look at the morbid paintings was macabre. All the pain that a person can experience was depicted in these pictures. No, it was not the Middle Ages, it was recently. From the speakers, the first song from the new SYMBOLICAL record was played, and the whole scenery darkened even more. Inferno!
A new album with the distinctive name "Allegory of Death" is a powerful tool for evoking the darkest images and nightmares. The album immediately brought me into a world of fear, madness, and pain.
"Allegory of Death" is the perfect record in all aspects. Everything was led into the perfection. Cutting riffs, rough voice, lots of interesting ideas. Inspiration by the bands as BEHEMOTH, MASACHIST, AZARATH, INFERNAL DEATH, HERITAGE, but also IMMOLATION, HATE ETERNAL is obvious and clearly distinct, but it doesn’t change the fact that the album is excellent. The most I appreciate the cold and dark atmosphere, gradual structure of the songs and the continuous feeling that someone is going on your throat during the listening. Great sound and album cover, overall design. As if SYMBOLICAL has narrated the ancient death stories. You must certainly know the moments when you feel like you're going to break into the thousand pieces. Everything hurts you; the world is enshrouded in a misty haze. The sharp points of the madness penetrate your head. That's exactly how I see the new record "Allegory of Death". An excellent death metal album that reminds the visit of the death gallery!
