Měl velmi přísnou výchovu. Každý den se musel modlit a dodržovat jasná pravidla. Nikdy se neusmíval. Pomáhal v místním kostele a vypadalo to, že bude jednou knězem. Jenže měl v sobě něco děsivého, něco zlého. Pradávnou vzpomínku s odvrácenou tváří služebníka božího. Tolik přetvářky a klamu. Nikdo ho nikdy neposlouchal, nikdo mu nikdy nepomohl. Dospěl a stále si v sobě nesl svoji křivdu. Dlouhé roky v sobě dusil vztek. Nesnášel lidi, jdoucí jako ovce na porážku z nedělní mše. Musel to udělat.

Podobných příběhů známe všichni spoustu. Možná až příliš. Na jeden takový jsem si vzpomněl, když jsem poprvé uviděl obal debutového alba belgických death metalistů INCULT. Ihned jsem začal jejich novinku poslouchat a postupně jsem zjistil, že se jedná přesně o druh smrti, který mám v hudbě tolik rád. Poslouchejte hodně nahlas!


Osobně je mi jedno, jestli se jedná o kapelu slavného jména nebo o někoho, kdo teprve začíná. Pokaždé si sednu a nechám na sebe hudbu jen tak působit. Potom se rozhodnu, jestli recenzi napíšu nebo ne. Tentokrát jsem vůbec nepochyboval. Pro tenhle valivý, surový smrtící kov s thrash metalovými elementy mám zkrátka slabost. INCULT mají skvělý zvuk. Je čitelný, masivní, řeže tou správnou stranou nože. Jasně, nejedná se o nic nového, ani převratného, ale asi jste si za poslední roky všimli, že to nepřináší vlastně vůbec nikdo. Mě jde hlavně o přenesenou energii, o fantazii, která začne pracovat na sto procent, když muziku poslouchám. U "The Burnt Offering" jsem před sebou opravdu viděl hořící kostely, cítil jsem pomstu všech zničených a ponížených, všech, kteří dávno pochopili, že víra je opravdu slepá. Mocné nástupy, chorobami nasáklý vokál, jednotlivé motivy, které jedou dopředu jako buldozer. Tohle všechno dělá z novinky doslova návykový materiál. Belgičané si navíc hrají s temnými a chladnými náladami jako šelma se svojí kořistí. Mám chuť mlátit pěstí do stolu. Během psaní recenze jsem několikrát vstal, rozpustil si vlasy a začal pařit po pokoji. Jsem zkrátka starej prašivej pes, který cítí tu energii, ten nakumulovaný tlak a vztek, která se nám snaží kapela předat. Nutnou dodat, že se jim to daří na výbornou. Pro mě osobně objev letošního ledna a zároveň i moje doporučení pro vás. Old school death metal nesmí zemřít! Chladná a temná lavina z prašivých kostí!

He had a very strict upbringing. He had to pray every day and follow clear rules. He never smiled. He helped out at the local church and it looked like he was going to be a priest one day. But he had something scary inside him, something evil. An ancient memory with the averted face of a servant of God. So much dissimulation and deception. No one ever listened to him, no one ever helped him. He grew up and still carried his wrongs inside him. For many years he bottled up his anger. He hated people walking like sheep to the slaughter from Sunday mass. He had to do it.

We all know plenty of stories like that. Maybe too many. I was reminded of one such story when I first saw the cover of the debut album from Belgian death metallers INCULT. I immediately started listening to their new release and gradually discovered that it was exactly the kind of death I love so much in music. Listen very loud!


Personally, I don't care if it's a big name band or someone just starting out. I always sit back and let the music just affect me. Then I decide if I'm going to write a review or not. This time I had no doubt at all. I simply have a soft spot for this rolling, raw death metal with thrash metal elements. INCULT have a great sound. It's clear, it's massive, it cuts with the right side of the knife. Sure, it's nothing new or groundbreaking, but you've probably noticed over the years that nobody really brings that. For me, it's all about the energy transferred, the imagination that starts working one hundred percent when I listen to the music. With "The Burnt Offering" I really saw churches burning in front of me, I felt the vengeance of all the destroyed and humiliated, all those who long ago understood that faith is really blind. Powerful entrances, disease-soaked vocals, individual motifs that drive forward like a bulldozer. All this makes the new material literally addictive. Moreover, the Belgians play with dark and cold moods like a beast with its prey. I feel like pounding my fist on the table. While writing this review, I got up several times, let my hair down and started partying around the room. I'm just a mangy old dog who can feel the energy, the accumulated pressure and anger that the band is trying to convey. I have to say, they're doing a great job. For me personally the discovery of this January and also my recommendation for you. Old school death metal must not die! A cold and dark avalanche of scabrous bones!

Ave UNCONSECRATED! Greetings to Chile. I hope everything will be right with you. I was really looking forward to your new release "Ascension in the Altar of Condemned", I really enjoyed the previous demo and loved coming back to it. How did the new album come about and where did you want to move to?

A.S_ Hello, nice to be here Agorh Skullptor, first of all thank you for the invitation to participate in the new issue of Deadly Storm Zine. Well, the album comes about like most, a few years ago I had already composed the songs that would be part of it, for me I would have liked this to come out much sooner, but external factors always occur that make the processes delay more than one would expect. wait, but even with certain inconveniences we managed to release this work, the line and approach of this album is clearly related to the concept of the band. "Liberation of the being in the face of religious and especially Christian oppression"

I must say that the news literally opened me up. It is dense, solid, dark and at the same time cold like a corpse's hand. That's exactly how I like it! The mix is ​​signed by Mauricio Salgado. Did you record directly with him or did you just mix the album? How did you feel when you went to the studio and how did you manage to get such spectacular material?

A.S_ Thanks for the spectacular haha ​​and great that you liked the album.

Yes, Mauricio was in charge of all the processes of the album, recording, mixing and mastering. It was a slow and leisurely process as I mentioned before, we recorded a large part of the album in the countryside in the forest, setting up a family home and we started recording, it was a different process from the usual but quite satisfactory one. It has its magic to record that way, perhaps for the same reason the album achieves its goal.


I always take recordings as a whole and you underestimated not only the sound but also the cover. Rodrigo Pereira Salvatierra is a great painter. How did you get together and how did the packaging come about? Did you have any requirements or did you choose between already prepared paintings? And how was the cooperation.

A.S_ Generally I always have the ideas in my mind first, the same thing happened with art, I envisioned it and then I put it on a sheet of paper, I drew what I had in mind. Well, but that's not enough, that's when I contacted Rodrigo, I showed him my sketch and he, being a great painter, had no problem capturing the idea, even giving it his particularities, showing his essence and his talent, he really left an incredible job. The painting he made took on a unique strength and mysticism. So no, I did not choose from his paintings, it is a custom painting.

The texts are an integral part of the album. It states that you are facing death. Such classic death metal themes. What are the lyrics of "The Ascension on the Altar of the Damned" about, who is its author? Where did you get your inspiration from?

A.S_ The theme of this work is conceptual to the line and name of the band. Manifestation of religious abhorrence.

The lyrical concept and approach we refer to is the desacralization of humanity, the repudiation of what is religiously sacred, social deconsecration. And from there comes the name Deconsekrated and the concept of Ascension in The Altar of Condemned, since it is a liberation and ascension of those oppressed by the damned and dirty religion.

Well, the person who writes these lines was the one who was in charge of the lyrics with no more inspiration than crude reality and religious shit.


And what about the concerts? What happens to them in Chile? Do fans go to concerts or just sit in front of the Internet? I need a club, beer, girls!

A.S_ Many bands from the underground come to Chile and also those that already have a firm name all over the world, the fans or bangers are very crazy at the concerts, there is a lot of adrenaline live.

But without a doubt this is always accompanied by some very cold beers.

And what happens with the underground scene in your country in general? Do you live in Chile? You are from Temuco, Araucanía, do you meet somewhere to make death metal? If I visited the city, where should I go to the concert? And what about the fans? Do the bands support?

A.S_ I live in Temuco region of Araucanía Chile, most of the band are from this region, except for the bassist who lives in Valdivia, a nearby city. And the truth is that the scene moves a lot, there is a circle where the undergound is generated.

The public supports the scene quite a bit by buying material, attending "tokata" concerts, that's what we call it here, the truth is there is no fixed place to do Death Metal, at least in my city. The events are held in different locations, paying the rent of the premises. But there are some bars where rock and metal plays and you can go for a few beers.

Do you have any dreams with the band? Do you have a good name in the underground world, but want to go to a higher place? I mean, does a tour with a big name, playing a big festival, releasing another album with a well-known label appeal to you? What dreams and vision does DECONSEKRATED have?

A.S_ more than dreams, we have goals to fulfill. Among those is editing a new work that will hopefully come out next year. It's still too early to talk about that but it's a goal we have in mind. For now we're focused on promoting the record by playing as much as possible. I don't mind touring. I can say that it is out of our hands but logically we would like to do it sometime.


What does death metal mean to you? Why did you choose this style? How did you get into this and what kind of musicians were your role models when you started? Do you perceive death metal "only" as music or is it also a lifestyle for you? You can look at this page philosophically.

A.S_ It was when I was a teenager when I got into metal, we would get together with friends and my brother and we would spend the afternoon listening to bands like Sepultura, Slayer, Deicide, Cannibal Corpse etc etc... But over time I got deeper into it. In more obscurantist sounds and acquiring a devotion to Death Metal, bands like Morbid Angel, Immolation, Incantation were fundamental pillars to forge me and delve even further into this raw, sordid and dark world of Death Metal.

Those of us who are in this know that it is not just music... Far from fashion, it is a way of seeing life and also death.

Do you have a band in your area that you would recommend to us? And what are people going to see when they go to clubs in Chile?

A.S_ There are many bands which are very interesting, among them I can name Myst, Cenotafio, Horrifyng, Exanimatvm, Suppression, Uter Tomb. Etc.........

There is a lot of devotion to metal in Chile, therefore you will see bands with courage and eggs well placed.


What can we expect from DECONSEKRATED in the coming months? Aren't you going to release "Ascension in the Altar of Condemned" also on vinyl?

A.S_ As I mentioned, for now we are focused on promoting the material by presenting ourselves at some events, and if we have a vinyl edition fairly planned, we hope that everything goes well and this new edition turns out, there is also something out there on cassette.

Ave DECONSEKRATED! Zdravím do Chile. Doufám, že je u vás vše v pořádku. Na vaši novinku „Ascension in the Altar of Condemned“ jsem se neskutečně těšil, předchozí demo mě hrozně bavilo a rád jsem se k němu vracel. Jak novinka vznikala a kam jste se chtěli posunout?

A.S_ Ahoj, těší mě, jmenuji se Agorh Skullptor, především děkuji za pozvání k účasti na novém čísle Deadly Storm Zine. No, album vzniká jako většina, už před několika lety jsem měl složené písně, které budou jeho součástí, pro mě za mě bych byl rád, kdyby to vyšlo mnohem dřív, ale vždycky se objeví vnější faktory, které procesy zdrží víc, než by člověk čekal. čekat, ale i přes určité nepříjemnosti se nám podařilo toto dílo vydat, linie a přístup tohoto alba je jasně spojený s konceptem kapely. "Osvobození bytosti tváří v tvář náboženskému a zejména křesťanskému útlaku".

Musím říct, že u novinky mě doslova rozsekal zvuk. Je hutný, masivní, temný a zároveň studený jako ruka mrtvoly. Přesně takhle to mám rád! Pod mixem je podepsán Mauricio Salgado. Vy jste u něj přímo nahrávali nebo desku jen mixoval? S jakými pocity jste šli do studia a jak se vám povedlo docílit tak zabijácký materiál?

A.S_ Děkujeme za velkolepá slova a je skvělé, že se vám album líbilo.

Ano, Mauricio měl na starosti všechny procesy alba, nahrávání, mixování i mastering. Byl to pomalý a pozvolný proces, jak už jsem zmínil, velkou část alba jsme nahráli na venkově v lese, zařídili jsme si rodinný dům a začali nahrávat, byl to jiný proces než obvykle, ale docela uspokojivý. Nahrávání tímto způsobem má své kouzlo, možná i proto album dosáhlo svého cíle.


Vždy beru nahrávky jako celek a vy jste nepodcenili jenom zvuk, ale i obal. Rodrigo Pereira Salvatierra je skvělý malíř. Jak jste se dali dohromady a jak obal vznikal? Měli jste nějaké požadavky nebo jste vybírali z již připravených obrazů? A jak probíhala spolupráce.

A.S_ Obecně mám vždycky nejdřív nápady v hlavě, to samé se mi stalo s uměním, představil jsem si to a pak jsem to přenesl na list papíru, nakreslil jsem to, co jsem měl na mysli. No, ale to nestačí, tehdy jsem kontaktoval Rodriga, ukázal jsem mu svůj náčrtek a on, jako skvělý malíř, neměl problém nápad zachytit, dokonce mu dal své zvláštnosti, ukázal svou podstatu a svůj talent, opravdu zanechal neuvěřitelnou práci. Obraz, který vytvořil, získal jedinečnou sílu a mystiku. Takže ne, nevybíral jsem z jeho obrazů, je to obraz na zakázku.

Nedílnou součástí desky jsou i texty. U vás je uváděno, že se v nich zaobíráte smrtí. Tedy klasická death metalová témata. O čem jsou texty na „Ascension in the Altar of Condemned“, kdo je jejich autorem? Kde jste pro ně brali inspiraci?

A.S_ Téma této práce je konceptuální k linii a názvu kapely. Manifestace náboženského hnusu.

Lyrický koncept a přístup, na který odkazujeme, je desakralizace lidství, zavržení toho, co je nábožensky posvátné, společenská dekonsekrace. A odtud pochází i název Deconsekrated a koncept Ascension ve skladbě The Altar of Condemned, protože jde o osvobození a povznesení těch, kteří jsou utlačováni zatraceným a špinavým náboženstvím.

No a člověk, který píše tyhle řádky, měl na starosti texty bez větší inspirace než surovou realitou a náboženskými sračkami.


A co koncerty? Jak je to s nimi momentálně v Chile? Fungují kluby? Chodí fanoušci na koncerty nebo už jenom sedí u internetu? Já potřebuji klub, pivo, holky!

A.S_ Do Chile přijíždí mnoho kapel z undergroundu a také ty, které už mají pevné jméno po celém světě, fanoušci nebo bangers jsou na koncertech velmi pobláznění, naživo je tam hodně adrenalinu.

Ten je ale bezpochyby vždy doprovázen nějakým hodně vychlazeným pivem.

A co undergroundová scéna u vás všeobecně? Žije to v Chile? Jste z Temuco, Araucania, scházíte se třeba někde na death metal? Kdybych město navštívil, kam bych měl zajít na koncert? A co fanoušci? Podporují kapely?

A.S_ Žiji v regionu Temuco v Araukánii v Chile, většina kapely pochází z tohoto regionu, kromě baskytaristy, který žije v nedaleké Valdivii. A je pravda, že scéna se hodně hýbe, je tu kruh, kde se generuje underground.

Veřejnost scénu dost podporuje tím, že si kupuje materiál, chodí na koncerty "tokata", tak tomu tady říkáme, pravda je, že neexistuje žádné stálé místo, kde by se death metal dělal, alespoň v mém městě. Akce se konají na různých místech, platí se pronájem prostor. Ale je tu několik barů, kde se hraje rock a metal a kam můžete zajít na pár piv.

Máte s kapelou nějaké sny? V undergroundu máte dobré jméno, ale chcete se posunout někam výš? Myslím tím, láká vás třeba turné s nějakým velkým jménem, zahrát si na velkém festivalu, vydat další desku u známého labelu? Jaké sny a vizi mají DECONSEKRATED?

A.S_ více než sny máme cíle, které chceme naplnit. Mezi ně patří vydání nového díla, které snad vyjde příští rok. Je ještě příliš brzy o tom mluvit, ale je to cíl, který máme v hlavě. Zatím se soustředíme na propagaci desky tím, že budeme co nejvíc hrát. Turné mi nevadí. Můžu říct, že to není v našich silách, ale logicky bychom to někdy rádi udělali.


Co pro tebe znamená death metal? Proč sis zvolil zrovna tento styl? Jak ses k němu dostal a jací muzikanti byli tvým vzorem, když si začínal? Vnímáš death metal „jen“ jako hudbu nebo je pro tebe i životním stylem? Klidně se můžeš na tuto stránku podívat i filozoficky.

A.S_ Když jsem byl teenager, začal jsem se zajímat o metal, scházeli jsme se s kamarády a mým bratrem a trávili odpoledne poslechem kapel jako Sepultura, Slayer, Deicide, Cannibal Corpse atd. atd... Ale postupem času jsem se do toho dostal hlouběji. V obskurnějších zvucích a získání oddanosti death metalu, kapely jako Morbid Angel, Immolation, Incantation byly základními pilíři, které mě ukovaly a ještě více ponořily do tohoto syrového, špinavého a temného světa death metalu.

Ti z nás, kteří v tom jedou, vědí, že to není jen hudba... Zdaleka to není jen móda, je to způsob vnímání života a také smrti.

Máte ve svém okolí nějakou kapelu, kterou bys nám doporučil. Na co se chodí v klubech v Chile?

A.S_ Existuje mnoho kapel, které jsou velmi zajímavé, mezi nimiž mohu jmenovat Myst, Cenotafio, Horrifyng, Exanimatvm, Suppression, Uter Tomb. Etc.........

V Chile se metalu hodně věnují, proto uvidíte kapely s odvahou a dobře umístěnými koulemi.


Na co se můžeme od DECONSEKRATED těšit v nejbližších měsících? Nechystáte „Ascension in the Altar of Condemned“ i na vinylu?

A.S_ Jak už jsem zmínil, zatím se soustředíme na propagaci materiálu tím, že se budeme prezentovat na nějakých akcích, a máme poctivě naplánovanou vinylovou edici, doufáme, že se všechno povede a tato nová edice vyjde, bude něco i na kazetě.

Recenze/review - EXOCRINE - Legend (2024)

Někdy mi připadá, že stojím za velkým zrcadlem. Sleduji lidské hemžení, jsem našeptávačem, tichým stínem. Už jsem ve svém životě něco zažil a poslední roky mě lidský druh příliš nebaví. Nevím, jestli dojde v nejbližší době k restartu nebo jsme jenom v divné době, co ale vím jistě je, že stále vznikají nové desky, které stojí za pozornost. Pořád existují kapely, které se snaží death metal někam posunout. Někdy se jim to daří, jindy nikoliv. Každý asi známe profláklá jména. Většinou mi nic moc neříkají. Jsou ale skupiny, které hrají technicky a progresivně a mám pro ně slabost.

Francouzští EXOCRINE rozhodně patří mezi ně. Nové album "Legend" je toho jasným důkazem. Hned od první skladby jsem si připadal jako při návštěvě koncertu vážné muziky. Všechny skladby jsou neskutečně propracované a intenzivní. A hlavně, nejedná se jen o takové to, dnes tolik časté, preludování a dokazování, kdo hraje rychleji a brutálněji. Naopak. Pánové se nebojí popustit uzdu své fantazii. Umí být vznešení, syroví, chladní i živočišní. Zpočátku je to možná těžký materiál k poslechu, ale pokud máte dobrou představivost, tak budete určitě spokojeni. 


 "Legend" je jako nějaký živoucí organismus, který neustále mění svoji strukturu. Časté změny tempa, chvílemi majestátní opus, jindy zase surovost. Dostanete všechno, jen musíte mít otevřenou mysl. Moje oblíbené přirovnání (nejen u muziky, ale i u knih), je představa velkého trychtýře, který je zatlučen do vašeho mozku. Skrz něj prýští temná energie. Nasbíraná ve vesmíru, možná v představách muzikantů. Nevím. Jistý jsem si ale  s tím, že tahle skupina má velký talent a zároveň umí složit dobré skladby, které se poslouchají tak nějak samy. O zvuku (Sylvain Octor-Perez), ani o obalu (Andreas Christanetoff) není nutné diskutovat. Vše je neskutečně povedené a já si tak můžu užívat hudbu samotnou. Zajímavé je, že jsem na novou desku dostával dost často chuť v autě. Nebo doma, když nastala noc a všude byl klid. Líbí se mi přístup kapely, jejich styl, způsob, jakým píše skladby. Jsou pestré, zajímavé, neotřelé. Někdy bolí, zadírají se hluboko do hlavy, jindy se zase usmívám, protože jsou doslova lahodné. EXOCRINE jsou z krásné oblasti Bordeaux a přirovnávat hudbu k dobrému vínu by bylo jen obyčejným klišé. Jenže ono tomu tak je. Pánové dali svým skladbám náležitou péči, nechali je uležet, uzrát a jsou každou další deskou lepší a lepší. Pokud jste fanoušci skupin jako BEYOND CREATION, ARCHSPIRE, OBSCURA, CYNIC, GORGUTS, AHTEIST, GOROD, CRYPTOPSY, měli byste zbystřit svoji pozornost. Hraje se tu i pro vás. Recenzi nelze ukončit jinak, než doporučením. Tohle je totiž velmi návyková záležitost. K dokonalosti vybroušený technický progresivní death metal! Symfonie z jiných sfér!

Sometimes I feel like I'm standing behind a big mirror. I'm a whisperer, a silent shadow. I've been through some things in my life, and for the last few years, I've not been too fond of the human species. I don't know if there's going to be a reboot anytime soon or if we're just in a weird time, but what I do know is that there are still new records being made that are worth paying attention to. There are still bands out there trying to push death metal somewhere. Sometimes they succeed, sometimes they don't. I think we all know the famous names. Most of the time they don't mean much to me. But there are bands that play technically and progressive and I have a soft spot for them.

French EXOCRINE is definitely one of them. The new album "Legend" is a clear proof of that. Right from the first track I felt like I was attending a classical music concert. All songs are incredibly sophisticated and intense. And most importantly, it's not just the prelude and proving who plays faster and more brutal that is so common nowadays. On the contrary. The gentlemen are not afraid to let their imagination run wild. They can be sublime, raw, cold and animalistic. It may be difficult material to listen to at first, but if you have a good imagination, you will definitely be satisfied.


"Legend" is like a living organism that is constantly changing its structure. Frequent changes of pace, at times a majestic opus, at other times brutality. You get everything, you just have to keep an open mind. My favourite simile (not just for music, but for books too) is the idea of a big funnel being hammered into your brain. Dark energy oozes through it. Collected in the universe, perhaps in the imaginations of musicians. I don't know. But what I am sure of is that this band has a lot of talent, and they can write good songs that sort of listen to themselves. There is no need to discuss the sound (Sylvain Octor-Perez) or the cover (Andreas Christanetoff). Everything is incredibly well done and I can enjoy the music itself. Interestingly enough, I've been craving the new album quite often in the car. Or at home, when night fell and all was quiet. I like the band's approach, their style, the way they write songs. They're varied, interesting, fresh. Sometimes they hurt, they dig deep into my head, sometimes they make me smile because they are literally delicious. EXOCRINE are from the beautiful region of Bordeaux and to compare their music to fine wine would be a mere cliché. But it is. The gentlemen have given their compositions due care, let them age and mature and they get better and better with each album. If you're a fan of bands like BEYOND CREATION, ARCHSPIRE, OBSCURA, CYNIC, GORGUTS, AHTEIST, GOROD, CRYPTOPSY, you should focus your attention. There's music for you too. We cannot end this review except with a recommendation. This is a very addictive affair. Technical progressive death metal polished to perfection! A symphony from other realms!

Když jsme na téhle planetě přistáli poprvé, byli jsme fascinováni její krásou. Zelené lesy, oceány plné ryb, hory pokryté bílým sněhem. Koloběh přírody fungoval a svět byl přirozeně krásný. Jenže pak jsme potkali lidi. Stačilo jim několik desetiletí, aby začali všechno ničit. Do moří vypouštěli jedy, zabíjeli se navzájem, díky něčemu tak neuchopitlenému, jako je víra. Bylo nám z nich smutno. Nešlo to jinak. Tenhle experiment se zkrátka nepovedl. Poslali jsme svoje vojáky, divoké a nekompromisní vestřelce, aby jej ukončil. 

Útok začal za tmy a byl nemilosrdný. Stejně jako technická thrash/death metalová smečka DISSIMULATOR, která pochází z Kanady a po jedné demonahrávce v roce 2021 přichází letos s vysokooktanovým materiálem, který vás spálí na popel. 

 

Musím se vám k něčemu přiznat. Kapelu jsem vůbec neznal, nikdy o ní neslyšel a když jsem si pustil novinku poprvé, připadal jsem si, že se mi čip implantovaný do mozku zbláznil. To byl tak obrovský tlak a energie, že jsem si musel sednout. Nikdy jsem neměl infarkt, ale myslím, že takhle nějak probíhá. Pánové totiž, nejen že umí skvěle hrát a jsou na tom skvěle technicky, ale oni ještě navíc dokáží složit skladby, které vás doslova smetou z povrchu zemského. Není divu, sešli se tu členové BEYOND CREATION, PHOBOCOSM, CHTHE’ILIST. Je to šílenství! Riffy ostré jako čerstvě nabroušený skalpel. Vše za podpory masivního a masakrujícího zvuku. Takhle nějak si představuji, že by měla hrát moderní thrash/death metalová kapela, která nejen že ctí staré pořádky (VOIVOD, CORONER, NOCTURNUS), ale zároveň se snaží do tohoto stylu přinést i něco nového a neotřelého (VEKTOR). Líbí se mi jejich přístup, nápady, motivy, které nemůžu ani po dlouhé době vyhnat z hlavy. Určitě znáte zákon o zachování energie. Kapela vám jí předá tolik, že budete doslova nabití ještě několik dní potom. Zároveň, a to mi dělá jako starému psu velmi dobře, jsou old schoolově neurvalí, živočišní, divocí, jestli mi rozumíte. Je to prostě radost, dávat si "Lower Form Resistance" stále dokola do uší a užívat si jednotlivé pasáže. Myslím si, že tohle album pustím jednou nějaké vyspělé civilizaci, která nás přiletí kolonizovat. A abych ještě nezapomněl, černobílý obal od Jesse Draxler je vynikající a perfektně sedne k tomu, co se na desce odehrává. Nemůžu zkrátka jinak, než novou nahrávku všem doporučit. Absolutně zničující útok thrash death metalových vetřelců! K dokonalosti vybroušená hudba!

When we first landed on this planet, we were fascinated by its beauty. Green forests, oceans full of fish, mountains covered in white snow. The cycle of nature was working and the world was naturally beautiful. But then we met people. It only took them a few decades to start destroying everything. They were dumping poisons into the seas, killing each other, thanks to something as unsubtle as faith. They made us sad. There was no other way. This experiment just didn't work. We sent our soldiers, fierce and uncompromising gunslingers, to put an end to it. 

The attack began in the dark and was merciless. Just like the technical thrash/death metal pack DISSIMULATOR, hailing from Canada, and after one demo in 2021, they come this year with high-octane material that will burn you to ashes.


I have a confession to make. I didn't know the band at all, I had never heard of them and when I first listened to the news I felt like the chip implanted in my brain had gone crazy. That was such a huge amount of pressure and energy that I had to sit down. I've never had a heart attack, but I guess that's how it goes somehow. Because not only can the gentlemen play and are great technically, but they can also compose songs that will literally blow you off the face of the earth. It's no wonder, members of BEYOND CREATION, PHOBOCOSM, CHTHE'ILIST. It's insane! Riffs as sharp as a freshly sharpened scalpel. All backed by a massive and slaughtering sound. This is how I imagine a modern thrash/death metal band should play, which not only honors the old ways (VOIVOD, CORONER, NOCTURNUS), but also tries to bring something new and fresh to this style (VEKTOR). I like their approach, ideas, themes that I can't get out of my head even after a long time. I'm sure you know the law of conservation of energy. The band will give you so much of it that you will literally be charged for days afterwards. At the same time, and this makes me feel very good as an old dog, they are old school uncouth, animalistic, wild, if you understand me. It's just a joy to put "Lower Form Resistance" over and over in your ears and enjoy each passage. I think I'll play this album one day to some advanced civilization that comes to colonize us. And lest I forget, the black and white cover art by Jesse Draxler is excellent and fits perfectly with what's going on on the record. I simply can't recommend the new record to everyone. Absolutely devastating attack of thrash death metal invaders! Music polished to perfection!

Stojíš na semaforech a vedle tebe přijede auto, které vypadá jako starý veterán. Je špinavé a od krve. Podíváš se na řidiče a zjistíš, že uvnitř je několik usmívajících se zombie. Přidáš plyn, vyděšený. Jenže téhle partě nemrtvých nemůžeš nikdy ujet. Rychlé zatáčky, motor řve a tvoje holka se šíleně bojí. Nakonec skočíte přes hřbitovní zeď. Vylezeš ven a máš poslední přání. Ještě by sis rád poslech nové EP amerických DRIPPING DECAY. Je totiž po okraj narvané tím, co máš řád. Shnilým, prašivým death metalem.

O téhle smečce jsem psal již loni, když vydali debutové album "Festering Grotesqueries". Recenzi si můžete přečíst dole pod článkem. Pánové i letos pokračují ve své morbidní práci. Jsou nekompromisní a při poslechu vám budou odpadávat kusy masa od kostí. Až pojedeš zase jednou autem, doporučuji přidat volume pořádně doprava. 


Je to taková ta stará smradlavá sněť, kterou můžete nalézt v hrobech, které nebyly již dlouhé roky otevřeny. Pánové hrají s nadšením pro poslední věci člověka. Věřím jim každý tón, každou notu. Není to nic pro slabé povahy. Odkazuje se zde na kapely typu AUTOPSY, CARCASS, TERRORIZER, EXHUMED. Fanoušek dostane přesně to, co žádá. Pradávný hnisavý kov smrti, který je velmi dobře zahraný a obsahuje v sobě velké množství temné energie. Mám pocit, že jsem zavřený ve staré kobce a naproti mě sedí parta zombie z dnešního dne. Kývají se spokojeně do rytmu a když potom zazní cover od HALLOWEEN, zavzpomínají si na svoje metalové začátky. Stejně jako já. U nás na hřbitově se hraje jenom kvalitní muzika, mrtví i ještě trošku živí si to žádají. Jsem moc rád, že jsem mohl všem nové EP "Ripping Remains" představit. Smrdí jako rozkládající se mršina. Mokvá a pomalu se rozpadá v prach. Zkrátka a dobře, vím, že jsem tu správně. Mrazí mě v kostech a moje krev je dávno bezcenná tekutina. Kývám se spokojeně do rytmu, když jdu kopat další hrob. Sedávám v márnici, se sluchátky na uších a užívám si mrtvolnou náladu celé desky. Svět se v metalu možná točí úplně jinak, ale pro mě jsou tyhle z archívů a starých hrobů vytažené vzpomínky stále živé. Nelze jinak, než novinku všem doporučit. A teď už se omlouvám, musím zase odjet. Stojím na semaforech a vedle mne zastaví auto, které vypadá jako starý veterán. Je špinavé a od krve. Podívám se na řidiče a zjistím, že uvnitř je několik usmívajících se zombie. Přidám plyn a narvu to do nejbližší zdi. Starý, plesnivý a mokvající death metal z těch nejhlubších hrobů! Zůstane vám krev na rukou!

You're standing at a traffic light and a car that looks like an old vintage car pulls up next to you. It's dirty and bloodied. You look at the driver and see that there are several smiling zombies inside. You step on the gas, terrified. But you can never outrun this bunch of undead. Fast corners, the engine's roaring and your girl's scared shitless. Eventually, you jump over the cemetery wall. You come out and you have one last wish. You'd still like to listen to the new EP by American DRIPPING DECAY. Because it's packed to the brim with what's on your mind. Rotten, filthy death metal.

I wrote about this pack last year when they released their debut album "Festering Grotesqueries". You can read the review below the article. The gentlemen continue their morbid work this year. They are uncompromising and you'll have chunks of flesh falling off your bones as you listen to them. When you go by car again, I recommend you turn up the volume properly to the right.


It's the kind of old stinking anthrax you find in graves that haven't been opened in years. Gentlemen play with enthusiasm for the last things of man. I believe them every note, every note. It's not for the faint of heart. Bands like AUTOPSY, CARCASS, TERRORIZER, EXHUMED are referred to here. The fan gets exactly what he asks for. An ancient festering metal of death that is very well played and contains a lot of dark energy. I feel like I'm locked in an old dungeon with a bunch of today's zombies sitting across from me. They sway contentedly to the beat and then when a cover of HALLOWEEN comes on, they reminisce about their metal beginnings. Just like me. In our cemetery, only good music is played, the dead and those still a little alive demand it. I'm so glad I could introduce the new EP "Ripping Remains" to everyone. It smells like decomposing carrion. Wet and slowly disintegrating into dust. In short, I know I'm in the right place. I'm chilled to the bone and my blood is long since a worthless liquid. I sway contentedly to the rhythm as I go to dig another grave. I sit in the morgue, headphones on, enjoying the deadpan mood of the whole board. The world may be a different place in metal, but for me, these memories pulled from archives and old graves are still vivid. I can't help but recommend the new album to everyone. Když jsem se ráno probudil, věděl jsem, že je něco jinak. Vstávám velmi brzy a většinou jednám zcela automaticky. Znáte to. Snídaně, naučené pohyby. Jenže teď jsem cítil ve vnitřnostech podivný tlak. Vše mi došlo až venku, když jsem za sebou zavřel dveře. Na zemi se rozpínaly paprsky jinovatky. V kostech se mi usadil neskutečný chlad a dostal jsem strach. Většinou už se dávno skoro ničeho nebojím, ale teď by se ve mě krve nedořezal. Obestřel mě smutek a hlavou mi létaly samé černé myšlenky. Odněkud začala hrát hudba. DWELLING BELOW, vyskočilo na displeji mého přehrávače. 

Našlapoval jsem opatrně. Notoricky známé ulice, domy, zahrady, vše bylo najednou šedivé, pokryté těžkou vrstvou beznaděje. Riffy se mi postupně zasekávaly do mozku a tělo se stávalo bezvládnou loutkou. Poslouchal jsem dál, dokud jsem nepřešel na druhou stranu, dokud jsem nepotkal přízraky. 


DWELLING BELOW je skupina, která je složená ze samých zkušených muzikantů (Acausal Intrusion, Hollowed Idols, Sermon of Rot). Ti moc dobře vědí, jak ošetřit zvuk, jaký vybrat motiv na obal. Vše je v pořádku, jak taky jinak. My se tak můžeme plně soustředit na pochmurný, temný death doom metal velmi vysoké kvality. Líbí se mi, jak kolem mě nejdřív skladby pomalu plynou, omotávají se kolem mě, postupně mě stahují do hlubiny, do močálů. A dělají to podobným stylem, jako třeba takoví AUTOPSY, INCANTATION, WINTER, a další skupiny, které umí kombinovat temnotu s chladem. Debutové album se pro mě stalo ihned velmi dobrým průvodcem záhrobím a užíval jsem si jednotlivé melodie. Je to spíše rituál, syrová a tajemná mantra, než jenom obyčejná deska. Doporučuji samotu, klid, nejlépe hlubokou noc a potom vynikne síla této nahrávky nejvíce. Bude se kolem vás plazit jako jedovatí hadi. Postupně vás uhrane a dostane se vám do žil. Představte si, že se vaše nejděsivější noční můry stanou šílenou realitou. Jako hororový film, na který nemůžete zapomenout. Tak na mě působí album "Dwelling Below". Pokud jste fanoušsci podobných záležitostí, tak rozhodně neváhajte. Budete pohřbeni zaživa a vše si vychutnáte ve staré plesnivé rakvi. Na zemi se začnou rozpínat paprsky jinovatky. V kostech se vám usadí neskutečný chlad a dostanete strach. Obestře vás smutek a hlavou vám začnou létat samé smutné myšlenky. Odněkud začane hrát hudba. Stanete se nemrtvým. Temný, studený doom death metal, u kterého se vám otevřou staré rány! Setkáte se s démony!

When I woke up this morning, I knew something was different. I wake up very early and usually act quite automatically. You know. Breakfast, learned movements. But now I felt a strange pressure in my gut. I didn't realise until I was outside, when I closed the door behind me. There were rays of frost on the ground. An incredible chill settled in my bones and I became afraid. Usually I'm almost afraid of nothing anymore, but now it wouldn't cut the blood in me. I was overwhelmed with sadness and all the black thoughts flew through my head. Music started playing from somewhere. DWELLING BELOW, popped up on my player screen. 

I treaded carefully. The notorious streets, houses, gardens, everything was suddenly grey, covered with a heavy layer of hopelessness. Riffs gradually jammed into my brain, and my body became a helpless puppet. I kept listening until I crossed over to the other side, until I met the ghosts.


DWELLING BELOW is a band that is composed of all experienced musicians (Acausal Intrusion, Hollowed Idols, Sermon of Rot). They know very well how to treat the sound, what motif to choose for the cover. Everything is fine, how else. We can fully concentrate on gloomy, dark death doom metal of very high quality. I like the way the songs flow slowly at first, wrapping around me, gradually pulling me down into the depths, into the swamps. And they do it in a similar style to bands like AUTOPSY, INCANTATION, WINTER, and other bands that can combine darkness with coldness. The debut album immediately became a very good guide to the underworld for me and I enjoyed the individual tunes. It's more of a ritual, a raw and mysterious mantra, than just an ordinary album. I recommend solitude, quiet, preferably a deep night, and then the power of this record will shine through the most. It will slither around you like venomous snakes. Gradually, it will eat you and get into your veins. Imagine your most terrifying nightmares becoming an insane reality. Like a horror movie you can't forget. That's what "Dwelling Below" does for me. If you're a fan of this sort of thing, don't hesitate. You'll be buried alive and enjoy everything in a moldy old coffin. The ground will be covered in rays of rain. An incredible chill will settle in your bones and you'll get scared. You'll be overwhelmed with sadness and all sorts of sad thoughts will fly through your head. Music starts playing from somewhere. You become undead. Dark, cold doom death metal that opens old wounds! You'll meet demons!

SOULCARRION - Enthrone Death

Probudíš se velmi brzy ráno a už od prvního okamžiku máš pocit, že něco je špatně. Mraky se dotýkají země a ulice vypadají prázdné. Jenže zdání někdy klame. Vyjdeš ven a potkáš prvního nemrtvého. Uprostřed předchozí noci se otevřela brána do pekla a démoni se začali mstít. Všude hoří ohně a kříže jsou obrácené směrem dolů. Konečně všichni pochopili, že peklo doopravdy existuje. Potvrzením existence samotného ďábla je i nové album polských tmářů SOULCARRION. Stačilo, abych jej slyšel poprvé a už jsem věděl, že takhle nějak zní ozvěny ze starých katakomb.

Kapela má na svém kontě ještě jedno dlouhohrající album a EP. Obě nahrávky jsem měl doma na recenzi a navěky mě proklely. Vše je odkazováno dole pod článkem. Letos jsou pánové ještě víc temnější a morbidnější. Zvukově (Darek Młody - mixing, mastering) prašivé album se mi ihned dostalo pod kůži. A způsobilo tam pořádně hnusný zánět. 


Deska je to velmi ponurá, morbidní, syrová. Odkazuje se v ní na klasický, tradiční smrtící kov (MORBID ANGEL, INCANTATION, IMMOLATION, VITAL REMAINS, DIABOLICAL). Vše je velmi mokvající, děsivé, připadá mi, že ze starých hrobů opravdu vylezly dávno prokleté mrtvoly a přišly se pomstít za všechny hříchy, za které byly kdysi potrestány. Album má návykovou, naléhavou a hororovou atmosféru. Představte si znesvěcený kostel, v jehož sklepeních jsou pochováni padlí kněží. Jejich srdce jsou probodnuta kůly a hlavy useknuté. Dovedu si představit, že každý z nich drží v rukou CD od téhle smečky. Někde v těchto místech totiž muselo být nahráváno. Z každého riffu, úderu bicích, je cítit hniloba, totální tma a pradávné zlo. Poláci mají svůj rukopis, který je sice inspirovaný starou knihou mrtvých, ale přidávány jsou krvavé kusy vlastních nápadů a invence. SOULCARRION rozvíjejí staré myšlenky velmi zkušeně, zajímavě a každý společný obřad byl pro mě skvělým rituálem. Někdy, když ráno vstanu, tak mám pocit, že apokalypsa už dávno začala. Spousta lidí, co je potkávám, tak má divný, mrtvý pohled. Působí to děsivě a ve spojení s "Enthrone Death", které mě hraje neustále do uší, dochází potom v mé hlavě k děsivým představám. Podepisuji vám vlastní krví, že pokud máte rádi v hudbě totální zlo, špínu a s chutí uléháte každé ráno do své oblíbené rakve, bude se vám tohle album líbit. Uprostřed předchozí noci se otevřela brána do pekla a démoni se začali mstít. Všude hoří ohně a kříže jsou obrácené směrem dolů. Konečně všichni pochopili, že peklo doopravdy existuje. Ďábelský, do temně krvavé mlhy zahalený death metal, který vás provede záhrobím! Absolutní zlo!

There are fires burning everywhere and crosses pointing downwards. Finally, everyone understands that hell really exists. Confirmation of the existence of the devil himself is also the new album of Polish darkies SOULCARRION. It was enough for me to hear it for the first time and I already knew that this is what echoes from the old catacombs sound like.

The band has one more full-length album and EP to their credit. I had both records at home for review and they have forever cursed me. Everything is linked at the bottom of the article. This year the gentlemen are even more dark and morbid. Sonically (Darek Młody - mixing, mastering) the dusty album immediately got under my skin. And it caused a really nasty inflammation there.


It's a very gloomy, morbid, raw record. It refers to classic, traditional death metal (MORBID ANGEL, INCANTATION, IMMOLATION, VITAL REMAINS, DIABOLICAL). It's all very swampy and eerie, it feels like the long-cursed corpses have really come out of their old graves to take revenge for all the sins they were once punished for. The album has an addictive, urgent and horror atmosphere. Imagine a desecrated church with fallen priests buried in its vaults. Their hearts are pierced with stakes and their heads cut off. I imagine that each of them is holding a CD from this pack. It must have been recorded somewhere in these parts. Every riff, every drum beat, reeks of rot, total darkness and ancient evil. The Poles have their own signature sound, inspired by the old Book of the Dead, but with bloody chunks of their own ideas and invention thrown in. SOULCARRION develops old ideas in a very experienced, interesting way and every joint ceremony was a great ritual for me. Sometimes when I wake up in the morning I feel that the apocalypse has already started. A lot of people I meet have a weird, dead look. It's eerie, and coupled with "Enthrone Death" playing in my ears constantly, it makes for some scary images in my head. I sign with my own blood that if you like total evil, filth in your music and you like to lie down in your favorite coffin every morning, you will like this album. In the middle of the previous night, the gates to hell opened and the demons began to take their revenge. Fires are burning everywhere and crosses are pointing downwards. Finally, everyone understands that hell really exists. Evil death metal, shrouded in a dark, bloody mist, that will take you through the afterlife! Absolute evil!
