Bývaly časy, kdy jsme na každé nové album VENOM netrpělivě čekali. Byli pro nás synonymem tvrdé muziky, jedni z otců zakladatelů a živoucí legenda. Pamatuji doby, kdy jsme s kamarády stávali dlouhé hodiny před obchodem a rozechvělí jsme pak běželi domů k přehrávači. Těšili jsme se na další muziku, na nové peklo. Řešili jsme každý detail, nakreslenou lebku, probírali každý tón, text.

Cronos a jeho věrní jsou zde stále s námi. Zaplať Satan za to! Je dobře, že i dnes máme možnost si poslechnout hudbu, která se stala předlohou a základem extrémních stylů. A jak je na tom novinka? Myslím, že velmi dobře. VENOM ničím nepřekvapují a je to tak správně.

"Storm the Gates" je album, které se rozprostírá na dlouhých 53 minutách. Kapela nahrála desku hlavně pro svoje věrné fanoušky. Mix starodávného heavy metalu, speedu, blacku, to je to, co umí VENOM nejlépe. Stále se drží svého stylu, u jehož zrodu kdysi stáli. Osobně mám na Britech nejraději syrově nazvučenou basu, Cronosův "ujetý" vokál a potom pasáže, ve kterých jsou temní a chladní. Letos mě zaujal i parádně provedený obal, který přesně vystihuje to, co se na desce odehrává - zlo ze starých metalových učebnic. VENOM zkrátka nahráli další kus poctivého kovu. Vykováno v britských katakombách, odlito ze žhavé lávy. Berte a nebo nechte být! Pro mě je nakonec stejně nejdůležitější, že během poslechu cítím síru. Klasika od nejpověřenějších! Znovu oživený kult, politý mrtvou vodou. Chemie stále funguje a peklo otevřelo svoje brány. Za mě spokojenost, ale znáte to, já jsem stará škola, kapela mě provází celý můj život, tak berte má slova s nadhledem. Solidní pocta Luciferovi!

There were times when we were waiting impatiently for every new album of VENOM. They were synonym of hard music, one of the founding fathers and a living legends. I remember the time when my buddies and I stood for hours in front of the store, and then we running home to the player. We were looking forward to more music, new hell. We solved every detail, the skull drawn, talk about every tone, text.

Cronos and his faithful are still here with us. Pay Satan for it! It is good that even today we have the opportunity to listen to the music that has become the basis of extreme styles. And what about novelty? I think it is very well. VENOM is not surprising and it is right.

„Storm the Gates" is an album that lasts for 53 minutes. The band recorded the album mainly for their loyal fans. Mixing ancient heavy metal, speed, black, that's what VENOM can do best. They still keeps their style, which they help to create. Personally, I prefer the british bass, Cronos's "crazy" vocal, and then passages in which they are dark and cool. This year, I have also been impressed by a well-executed cover that accurately describes what is happening on the album - the evil of old metal textbooks. VENOM simply recorded another piece of honest metal. Ripened in the British Catacombs, cast out of the hot lava. Take it or let it be! It is ultimately the for me that I feel sulphur during listening. Classic from the best! A revived cult, polished by dead water. Chemistry still works and hell opened its gates. I am satisfied, but you know it, I'm an old school, I’ve followed this band my whole life, so take my words with insight. A solid tribute to Lucifer!
