Nechal si nabrousit zuby, aby vypadaly jako ostré tesáky šelem. Potetovaná tvář a spousta mrtvých. Šílený vrah, který je zase na svobodě. Chyba systému, o zlo se musíme postarat. Zalezl do své kobky, chorá mysl, kdo bude další na řadě? Lov začíná, touha po krvi zvítězila. Morbidní nálada se vznáší všude kolem. Uvidíme se ve večerních zprávách. Masakr! Na tenhle příběh, který se doopravdy stal, jsem si vzpomněl, když jsem začal poslouchat debutové album polských VEPHAR.
Kapelu tvoří Bartłomiej Góral, který se postaral o všechny nástroje včetně naprogramovaných bicích a zpěvačka Amira Gaafar. Jako první mě zaujal zvuk, který je opravdu masivní, mocný a temný. Zapomenout nesmím ani na obal, který se také moc povedl. Pojďme ale k muzice.
Měl bych vlastně jenom jednu připomínku. V některých momentech jsou skladby trošku monotónní a dlouhé. Jinak si ale není na co stěžovat. Songy v sobě mají drive, sílu, spoustu zajímavých nápadů. Pro mě je nakonec vždy stejně nejzajímavější celková nálada a atmosféra. A ta je šílená, divoká, surová a syrová, připomíná v úvodu zmiňovaný příběh. Jedná se přesně o takový ten druh masakru, který se vám zadře pod kůži a hluboko do hlavy. Rád jsem se k nahrávce vracel a pouštěl si ji stále znovu. VEPHAR sice nevytvořili nic nového, ani převratného, ale album je nahráno velmi poctivě a upřímně. A o to nám jde především! Mám chuť na headbanging, mám chuť na mosh-pit. A nebo vzít do rukou sekyru a jít rozmlátit všechny obrazovky v mém okolí. "Ascension Through Torture" jsem si zařadil do své diskografie. Líbí se mi, jakým způsobem pracuje kapela s rytmy, s náladami. Jsou krvavé a ošklivé, ale to k hrané hudbě patří. Současná společnost potřebuje restart, jinak se sama zničí. A až se tak stane a všude bude už jenom spálená země, tak budou všude hrát VEPHAR. Tahle kapela vám vytrhne vnitřnosti z těla, vystřelí mozek z hlavy a ještě za to budete rádi. Morbidní nálada se vznáší všude kolem. Zlá, surová, temná death metalová apokalypsa!

See you on the evening news. Massacre! I was reminded of this story that really happened when I started listening to the debut album of Polish VEPHAR.
The band consists of Bartłomiej Góral, who took care of all the instruments including the programmed drums, and singer Amira Gaafar. The first thing that caught my attention was the sound, which is really massive, powerful and dark. I mustn't forget the cover artwork, which is also very good. But let's get to the music.
Actually, I just have one comment. In some moments the songs are a bit monotonous and long. But otherwise there is nothing to complain about. The songs have drive, power, lots of interesting ideas. In the end, the overall mood and atmosphere is always the most interesting for me anyway. And it's crazy, wild, raw and reminiscent of the story mentioned in the introduction. This is exactly the kind of carnage that gets under your skin and deep into your head. I loved coming back to the recording and playing it over and over again. VEPHAR may not have created anything new or groundbreaking, but the album is recorded with great honesty and sincerity. And that's what we're all about! I have a taste for headbanging, I have a taste for mosh-pit. Or take an axe and go smash all the screens in my neighbourhood. I've added "Ascension Through Torture" to my discography. I like the way the band works with rhythms, with moods. They're bloody and ugly, but that's what music should be. The current society needs a reboot, otherwise it will destroy itself. And when that happens and there's nothing but scorched earth everywhere, VEPHAR will be playing everywhere. This band will rip your guts out, blow your brains out and make you glad you did. Morbid mood is all around. Evil, raw, dark death metal apocalypse!
