Prosévám mezi prsty prach a přemýšlím, jaké to jednou bude, až přejdu na druhou stranu. Navštěvuji hřbitov, rozmlouvám s mrtvými a ptám se jich, jak se cítí, když hnijí v zemi. Rozpadnout se a stát se potravou pro červy. Existuje vůbec duše? Nebo jenom temnota? Nikdo mi nikdy neodpoví a tak hledám dál. Poslouchám novou desku australských MOURNFUL CONGREGATION a svět je náhle zahalen do husté mlhy. Našlapuji opatrně, abych nenarušil křehkou mrazivou atmosféru.
K téhle smečce a jejich funeral doom metalu se vracím pokaždé, když se potřebuji zastavit, zamyslet se. Utíkám z města, mezi náhrobky a do katakomb. Nasávám pach věčnosti, užívám si pochmurné nálady a svět bez světla. Pánové umí navodit velmi pochmurnou a smutnou náladu. Jako když potkáte smrt a venku prší krev z nebe. Novinka mě ihned zaujala svojí upřímností a opravdovostí.
Letošní EP je druhým dílem skládanky, která doplňuje loňskou, neméně dobrou, část. Doporučuji poslouchat dohromady, přesně, jak to kapela zamýšlela. Mrazí mě v zádech a moje životní funkce se zpomalily. Doom metal v provedení, v jakém jej MOURNFUL CONGREGATION předkládají, je magický, uhrančivý. Mohu být doma a sedět v křesle s knihou, ale moje myšlenky se stále vracejí na lesní hřbitov. Mám rád hudbu, která se mi zadře pod kůži, stane se mojí součástí a já její. Tentokrát je to hodně o emocích, o depresivních stavech, o bolesti, která hlodá někde uvnitř. Kývám se do větru, chci být zase jednou sám. Užít si jednotlivé skladby, podívat se na parádní obal, ocenit ledový zvuk. Vzít opět jednou do rukou prach svých předků a přemýšlet o věčnosti. "The Exuviae of Gods – Part II" je nahrávkou, která se povedla po všech stránkách. Má v sobě chvění, tmu, melancholii. Je jako dlouhý pohřeb, starý a poctivý, do země. Pokud jste fanoušci třeba takových AHAB, ESOTERIC, EVOKEN, SCEPTICISM, myslím si, že by vás mohla nová deska Australanů také oslovit. Album je jako pokorná návštěva starého chrámu. Jako obrácená modlitba, uskutečněná pod širým nebem. Od srdce, s jasným poselstvím. Věřím kapele každý tón, každou notu. Čas se zastavil. A já už nechci nic psát, chci jenom poslouchat a toulat se samotou. Bolestivý, drásavý funeral doom metal z onoho světa!

I sift the dust between my fingers and wonder what it will be like one day when I cross over to the other side. I visit the cemetery, talk to the dead and ask them how they feel as they rot in the ground. Decompose and become food for worms. Is there even a soul? Or just darkness? No one ever answers me, so I keep looking. I'm listening to the new album from Australia's MOURNFUL CONGREGATION and the world is suddenly shrouded in a thick fog. I tread carefully so as not to disturb the fragile, frosty atmosphere.
I come back to this pack and their funeral doom metal every time I need to stop and think. I run out of the city, between the tombstones and into the catacombs. I take in the smell of eternity, enjoy the gloomy moods and the world without light. Gentlemen can create a very gloomy and sad mood. Like when you meet death and it's raining blood from the sky outside. The novelty immediately struck me with its honesty and sincerity.
This year's EP is the second part of the puzzle, which complements last year's equally good part. I recommend listening to it together, exactly as the band intended. I got chills and my vitals slowed down. Doom metal as MOURNFUL CONGREGATION present it is magical, mesmerizing. I can be at home and sit in my chair with a book, but my thoughts keep returning to the forest graveyard. I like music that gets under my skin, becomes part of me and I part of it. This time it's a lot about emotions, about depressive states, about the pain that gnaws somewhere inside. I sway to the wind, I want to be alone again. To enjoy the individual tracks, to look at the awesome cover art, to appreciate the icy sound. To take the dust of my ancestors in my hands once more and contemplate eternity. "The Exuviae of Gods - Part II" is a record that succeeds in every aspect. It has a shiver, a darkness, a melancholy. It's like a long funeral, old and honest, into the ground. If you're a fan of the likes of AHAB, ESOTERIC, EVOKEN, SCEPTICISM, I think the new record from the Aussies might also appeal to you. The album is like a humble visit to an old temple. It's like a converted prayer, performed in the open air. From the heart, with a clear message. I trust the band with every note, every note. Time has stopped. And I don't want to write anything anymore, I just want to listen and wander in solitude. Painful, poignant funeral doom metal from the other world!
