Ave,
can you introduce your band to our readers? – When was it founded and what style of music do you play , etc. ?
Greetings brother. We formed
this band in March of 2016. All the members are friends for a long time. We all
played in different bands. We wanted to play death metal that resembles the
sound of classic 90's death metal. So we formed Nekrohowl.
Where
and under what conditions were you recording the new album? Who was in charge
of sound, production and mastering?
Well, it was interesting. We
recorded our demo in our reharsal room by live take. And for mixing mastering
we didnt worry much. We wanted a complete raw sound. We did a very little for
mixing mastering and even this little was also done by ourselves. So what you
hear in the demo is almost raw. We just didnt want to change the raw sound we
got during the live take. Thats all.
How
many copies were released and which
medium was used for this new edition (CD, digital, vinyl, cassette)?
We have released 100 copies
hand numbered Demo in CD format.
Who
is the author of the lyrics and how were they created and about what do the
lyrics deal with ?
We all contribute to create
the lyrics accordingly to the riffs. If someone finds some interesting riffs or
lyrics whatever we all just try to improve it together. Our lyrics deals with
sadism and death. For us sadism is the earliest notion of human being when they
were wild and had complete freedom of acting. So we try to establish that
ancient inner freedom. And death is the only truth we believe. It is the
ultimate reality. So it should be glorified. In our lyrics we just try to do it
with an nihilistic approach which is rooted into emptiness and darkness.
Who
created the logo of the band, and who took care of the graphics and the
website? What about you and social networks? Do you consider these things
important?
Our logo was designed by
Anik Mahmood. The logo itself is the artwork of the demo too.Our brother and
band manager Tawkir deals with all the websites and other communications. We do
have accounts on social media. We would really like to have zine based
promotion of bands just like the classic 90's era. But time has changed .
People are more on internet now and zine culture is yet to be regular in our
country. So, yes, it is sometime important to communicate and share. We also
have a facebook page and an account on sound clouds where you can listen to our
releases. But we do not emphasize much on it, though we have to use this for
sharing and other band updates. But if you have good music you dont need a
social media to reach to metallers with your songs, that is what we believe.
Which
label did you choose for releasing your
album and why this label? Are you satisfied by how your label represents you
and takés care about you?
We released it
independently. And the launching was on the streets just like the classic 90s
period of metal music. So we do not yet have to face the pressure or any
dealings with record level.
Which
bands do you idolise and where do you get your inspiration?
Well, we almost like all the
classic death metal bands and try to follow them in our own original ways. We
just try to make our very own riffs and styles sounds like classic 90's death
metal. Morbid Angel, Gorguts, Immolation, Suffocation, Autopsy, Bolt Thrower,
Nihilist, Atheist, Dismember, early Deicide, Death,Sinister, Sadistic Intent,
Demilich, Grave, Incantation, krisiun, Carnage and many more ha ha. Its all our
inspirations.
Did
you send your record to some Labels - which are the labels? How was the
response?
Yeah we are sending our
demos to some levels. responses are positive from them. We are still in talk so
right now we can not mention the names. We will get to the studios for
recording our first full length this March. After this we will confirm the
level and announce it.
How
many gigs have you played? Which type of gigs do you prefer, whether it's
(clubs or festivals) and which of your performances would you consider as the
best?
So far we have played in two
gigs. We actually prefer the quality of audience. If you are in front of a
crowd who know the true spirit and essence of metal, the type does not matter.
But obviously underground gigs are always of special importance. And for
festivals it depends. If you get a call from Maryland Deathfest, who won't go
there to play!! So wherever it is the crowd and the quality which matters and
nothing else for us. And among our shows which was the best that is the matter
of audience to say we think. ha ha.
What
about your plans for the future? What do you want to achieve with the band?
We have plans to release our
first album by the mid of this year. After that we will record an EP and release
it at the end of this year or at the beginneing of next year. We are in talk
with some organizers from abroad about some touring possibilities. It will be
announced very soon we hope. What we want to achieve is a stand point of our
visions and beliefs through our music and get evolved with as much time as we
can. This is all we want, to explore our inner freedom through our own music to
glorify the ultimate reality and the world of death.
