Dny plné krvavé mlhy, dny plné smrti. Památka zesnulých je zahalena tajemnem a hřbitovy pláčou v sychravém dešti. Procházím mezi náhrobky a čtu si nápisy zemřelých. Jak si žil a jak zemřel? Většina má na fotkách úsměv. Jakoby se vysmívala smrti. Usedám na dřevěnou lavici, obdivuji stoleté stromy, sklánějící se nad hroby. Kolik pohřbů asi pamatují? Mám neodbytný pocit, že do celkové pochmurné nálady něco chybí. Položím květiny na mramorovou desku a zapínám play na svém přehrávači.

Vedle kopou hrobníci další hrob. Hluboký, ve zmrzlé zemi. Pro koho asi bude? Do uší mi zní novinka německých REVEL IN FLESH a krásně doplňuje temnou atmosféru. Hrobníci mají pauzu a dáme se do řeči. Když jsme uprostřed věty, tak se do krvavé mlhy rozzáří nápis na novém hrobě. Je na něm moje jméno. Myslím, že do této chvíle se švédský death metal perfektně hodí.

"The Hour Of The Avenger" je dalším pokračováním mrazivé death metalové cesty. REVEL IN FLESH jsou na ní opět o nějaký řád melodičtější, možná i pomalejší, ale o to víc zapamatovatelnější. Jak je již spoustu let známo, tak tahle smečka má jeden obrovský dar, který se mnohým ostatním nedostává - dokáže složit zapamatovatelné skladby, které se vám zadřou hluboko pod kůži. Vše je samozřejmě podpořeno skvělým zvukem i obalem. Z hudby je cítit obrovský kus srdce, talent pro záhrobní věci a schopnost přikovat nás jednotlivými riffy na zeď. Stojím ve svém vlastním hrobě a mám chuť řvát! Křičím do krvavé mlhy spolu s kapelou, tančím mezi ostatky svého předchůdce. Ano, "The Hour Of The Avenger" je švédsky znějící klasikou, ale je také deskou, která je doslova narvaná zajímavými momenty. Připočtěte si vynikající vokál a těkavou paletu melancholie a máte před sebou album, které by si měl poslechnout každý nemrtvý. REVEL IN FLESH znovu potvrdili svoji pozici v katakombách. Smrt nezná slitování a tato nahrávka vás s absolutní jistotou přenese na druhou stranu!

Days full of bloody fog, days full of death. The memory of the deceased is shrouded in mystery and the cemeteries are crying in a bleak rain. I walk between the tombstones and read the letters of the deceased. How did you live and how did you die? Most of them have a smile on the photos. As if they mocked to death. I sit on a wooden bench, admiring the centuries-old trees bending over the graves. How many funerals do they remember? I have the persistent feeling that something is missing for the overall grim mood. I put the flowers on the marble slab and pressing play button on my player.

Next to me the diggers dig another grave. Deep, in frozen ground. For who it would be? In my ears sounds new album of German REVEL IN FLESH which beautifully complements the dark atmosphere. The gravediggers have a break and we started to talk. When we are in the middle of a sentence, the inscription on the new grave shines into the bloody fog and showing my name. I think the Swedish death metal perfectly fit for this moment.

"The Hour Of The Avenger" is another sequel to the freezing death metal journey. REVEL IN FLESH are again more melodic on it, maybe even slower, but more memorable. As it has been known for many years, this band has one huge gift, which many others missing – they can compose memorable songs that seize deep under your skin. Everything is of course supported by great sound and cover. From the music you can smell a huge piece of heart, talent for grave things and the ability to nail us by riffs on the wall. I stand in my own grave and I want to scream! I scream into the bloody fog with the band, dancing among the remains of my predecessor. Yes, "The Hour Of The Avenger" is a Swedish-sounding classic, but it is also a record that is literally filled by interesting moments. Add an excellent vocal and a volatile palette of melancholy and you have an album in front of you that every undead person should listen to. REVEL IN FLESH reaffirmed their position in the catacombs. Death have no mercy and you can be sure that this record will take you to the other side!
