A few questions - interview with death metal band from Thailand - OLDSKULL.

Ave, can you introduce your band to our readers? – When was it founded and what style of music do you play etc.?

Hails, we are Oldskull, old school death metal band hailing from Thailand. Oldskull was formed in May 2015 as a three-piece, including Saran (Savage Deity), Nocturnal Power (Bonghill, ex-Goatchrist666, ex-Terroreign) and Warranat (Bonghill, ex-Goatchrist666, ex-Terroreign). In early 2016, Patiwat (Nocturnal Damnation, Reincarnated, Masochist, ex-Zygoatsis) and AKK66 (Nuclear Warfare) joined and make the band stronger.

Where and under what conditions were you recording the new album? Who was in charge of sound, production and mastering?

We recorded each instruments in various places. Vocals and guitars recorded at Saran’s studio. Bass recorded at AKK66’s studio. And drums recorded at Rockhouse studio. Saran did the mixing and engineering process, then we sent the materials for mastering at Moontower Studio in Spain, which operated by Javi Félez.

How many copies were released and which medium was used for this new edition (CD, digital, vinyl, cassette)?

We put in in all formats. CD is limited to 500 copies, vinyl limited to 300 copies and cassette limited to 200 copies.

Who is the author of the lyrics and how were they created and about what do the lyrics deal with?

I’m (Warranat) responsible for all the lyrics and concepts. The main lyrical themes and concept are mystery, darkness, death from beyond and extermination towards mankind as well as mental illness, depression and suffering.

Who created the logo of the band, and who took care of the graphics and the website? What about you and social networks? Do you consider these things important?

Our new logo illustrated by Sickness666 one of the most well-known underground metal artists. He also takes care of layout and design, as well as Patiwat. I’m handle the social networks of the band, mostly Facebook and email. Yes, I think they are important these days especially for direct communication and spreading words to the supporter around the world. The world has changed, and we have to keep up with it.

Which label did you choose for releasing your album and why this label? Are you satisfied by how your label represents you and takés care about you?

The label that put out our debut album is Inhuman Assault Productions which is owned and operated solely by Patiwat. We are more than satisfied with what he has been doing as a label. This album wouldn’t have gone this far if it hadn’t because of him.

Which bands do you idolise and where do you get your inspiration?

Bolt Thrower, Obituary, Benediction and Death.

Did you send your record to some Labels - which are the labels? How was the response?

No, We didn’t send our album to any label prior to it’s release.

How many gigs have you played? Which type of gigs do you prefer, whether it's (clubs or festivals) and which of your performances would you consider as the best?

We have played nine gig to this day, and we really, really miss the stage badly, also the crowd and the madness that keep going on when we are playing. The best gig for us is gonna be the Mamat Fest 2018. The crowd there was totally insane. And we hope to invade some parts of Europe, including Czech Republic in the future.

What about your plans for the future? What do you want to achieve with the band?

Put out more deadly quality albums, like this one. Gain more supporters and more reputation as a new band who have been trying to keep the old spirit alive!

How and where can your fans contact you? Can you provide some contact information?
