Zbývalo dát poslední sbohem a potom se už jenom dívat, jak se všichni zabíjejí. Hromady mrtvol na ulicích, boj o vodu, o vzduch, o kousek prostoru. Jakoby v nás byla stále ukryta temnota. Stačí tak málo a vyplave na povrch, jako shnilý utopenec. Teď tu stojím a všechno kolem hoří. Apokalypsa lidské mysli, sebedestrukce. Na stromech visí houpající se těla oběšenců. Mají vyplazený jazyk, přesto působí klidně. Zbývá poslední úkryt. Starý chrám hluboko v lesích. Majestátní a vznešený, temný a chladný, jako naše prokleté duše. Vstupuji pomalu dovnitř a soundtrackem mi je k tomu nové album holandských maniaků CEREMONY.
Pokud si pamatujete na syrové počátky téhle smečky v devadesátých letech, tak moc dobře víte, že byla součástí stejné scény jako jejich kolegové ASPHYX, GOREFEST, SINISTER. Kapela má na svém kontě pouze tři dlouhohrající alba, jedno EP a dvě demonahrávky. Pro mě osobně je potom také vzpomínkou na staré dobré časy. Pojďme ale do současnosti.
Základem je stále syrový a prašivý death metal, nad kterým jsou vystavěny košaté a pestré konstrukce. Zazní black metal, ale hlavně symfonické prvky. CEREMONY se tak v určitých momentech blíží trošku tomu, co v současnosti dělají třeba takoví GOD DETHRONED. Samozřejmě, pánové mají svůj rukopis, vlastní styl i nápady. Na mě osobně je v některých momentech album možná až příliš majestátní a vznešené. Mám to přeci jen raději surověji, ale musím uznat, že ve skladbách je taková ta pradávná metalová síla. Novinku mě baví poslouchat, jen na ní musím mít náladu. Určitě znáte takové ty děsivé momenty, když se uprostřed noci probudíte z nočních můr. Zpocení, přesto je vám zima a chlad se vám usadil hluboko v kostech. CEREMONY nám vyprávějí svoje děsivé a tajemné příběhy. A dělají to opravdově, uvěřitelně, s takovou tou poctivou krvavou jiskrou v očích a touhou zabíjet hudbou. Stojím tak zase jednou ve starém chrámu, kolem mě hoří celý svět a mě je to už dávno jedno. Pro mě je o hodně důležitější hudba, zážitky, které s ní mám spojené. A hlavně, album "Solitary Bleed" mě baví poslouchat a rád se k němu vracím. A vůbec mi nevadí, že mě nakonec také ukřižují hlavou dolů, že mě zavřou do temné kobky a nechají shnít zaživa. Protože tohle všechno s touhle smečkou zažijete. Album má jasný směr, myšlenky, utíká s takovou elegantní samozřejmostí. Staré ověřené pořádky se zde potkávají se svěžím větrem ze záhrobí. Nahrávka asi nebude vyhovovat každému, ale za mě můžu napsat jen jediné - užívám si mrtvolný dech, apokalypsu, která již dávno začala. Melodický, symfonický black death metal, který vás strhne do hlubiny! Bude vás mrazit v kostech!

All that remained was to say our final goodbyes and then just watch as everyone killed each other. Piles of corpses in the streets, fighting for water, for air, for a piece of space. It was as if darkness was still hidden inside us. It takes so little for it to rise to the surface, like a rotten drowned man. Now I stand here and everything around me is burning. The apocalypse of the human mind, self-destruction. The bodies of hanged men swing from the trees. Their tongues are sticking out, yet they seem calm. There is one last refuge left. An old temple deep in the woods. Majestic and noble, dark and cold, like our cursed souls. I slowly enter, accompanied by the soundtrack of the new album by Dutch maniacs CEREMONY.
If you remember the raw beginnings of this pack in the nineties, you know very well that they were part of the same scene as their colleagues ASPHYX, GOREFEST, and SINISTER. The band has only three full-length albums, one EP, and two demo recordings to their credit. For me personally, they are also a reminder of the good old days. But let's move on to the present.
The foundation is still raw and mangy death metal, over which lush and colorful structures are built. There are hints of black metal, but mainly symphonic elements. At certain moments, CEREMONY comes close to what bands like GOD DETHRONED are doing nowadays. Of course, these gentlemen have their own signature style and ideas. For me personally, the album is perhaps too majestic and sublime at times. I prefer it to be more raw, but I have to admit that the songs have that ancient metal power. I enjoy listening to the new album, but I have to be in the mood for it. You surely know those terrifying moments when you wake up from nightmares in the middle of the night. You're sweaty, yet you're cold, and the chill has settled deep into your bones. CEREMONY tells us their terrifying and mysterious stories. And they do it authentically, believably, with that honest bloody spark in their eyes and a desire to kill with music. So once again I stand in an old temple, the whole world is burning around me, and I don't care anymore. For me, music is much more important, the experiences I have with it. And above all, I enjoy listening to the album "Solitary Bleed" and I like to come back to it. And I don't mind at all that in the end they will crucify me upside down, lock me in a dark dungeon and leave me to rot alive. Because you will experience all of this with this pack. The album has a clear direction, ideas, and flows with such elegant naturalness. The old tried and tested order meets a fresh wind from beyond the grave. The recording may not suit everyone, but for me I can only say one thing - I enjoy the deathly breath, the apocalypse that began long ago. Melodic, symphonic black death metal that will drag you into the depths! It will chill you to the bone!
