Stojím nad hlubokou propastí a dívám se dolů, do hlubiny. Vítr mě mrazí v zádech. Bylo by tak jednoduché skočit, zbavit se všech starostí a bolesti. Roztříštit se na tisíc kousků a shořet navěky v pekle. Jen chvilku letět, vznášet se, stát se nicotnou součástí koloběhu života a smrti. Je to moje první setkání s hudbou norských MISOTHEIST a již od začátku se jedná o velmi intenzivní zážitek, který v mé mysli probouzí spoustu temných a chladných fantazií.
Cítím ze skladeb pradávnou sílu black metalu, jeho mráz, nakumulovaný vztek, vášeň pro naprostou tmu, agresi, ale i melancholii posbíranou v hlubokých nekonečných lesích severu. Opět se mi stalo, že jsem raději jen tak seděl, poslouchal a nechtělo se mi psát žádná slova. Kapela do mě zasekla svůj ostrý shnilý dráp a už mě nepustila. Dostala se mi do žil, do podvědomí a rozdrásala mě zevnitř.
Album se kolem mě nejdřív plazilo jako jedovatý had. Kýval jsem se do rytmu a připadal si jako uhranutý. Jakoby odněkud ze stínů ke mě přišly při poslechu děsivé síly z onoho světa a uhranuly mě. Satan stojí za rohem a usmívá se, není divu, hraje se zde i pro něj. Skladby jsou spíše pomalejší, připomínají staré obřady, rituály pro vyvolávání těch nejtemnějších sil. Schválně jsem zhasl všechna světla a nechal "De Pinte", aby na mě jen tak působilo. Musím potvrdit a klidně vám to podepíšu vlastní krví, že pokaždé se jednalo a velmi silný zážitek. Ostrý, mrazivý zvuk, scenérie na obalu, přístup kapely, jakási záhadnost a magičnost, tohle všechno dohromady tvoří celek, který musí ocenit každý věrný fanoušek naprosté tmy. Black metal se dá hrát různým způsobem, zde je spíše klidnější. Ale jen na povrchu, uvnitř bublá jako krev v dlouho neléčené, zanícené ráně. Svět kolem mě může klidně shořet v plamenech, já zůstanu pevný jako skála, jako rukopis téhle prokleté smečky, jako jejich nové album, které může být klidně pokrmem pro ty nejhrůznější démony. MISOTHEIST mají svůj vlastní výraz, jsou svým způsobem originální, ryzí, opravdoví a naprosto autentičtí. Jednotlivé motivy jsou velmi dobře napsány, mají v sobě drive, nahrubo nasekané zlo i naprostou tmu. Doporučuji vám poslech někde o samotě, nejlépe nad propastí, s pohledem dolů, do děsivé hlubiny. V těchto chvílích a na těchto místech vynikne síla této nahrávky nejvíce. Mimochodem, vokál je vynikající a zasloužil by si samostatnou kapitolu. Na to ale není čas, musím znovu zapnout play a vydat se do nekonečných lesů. Do zimy, do naprosté tmy. Jedovatý, melancholický, mrazivý a temný black metal, který vás uhrane! Budete strženi do hlubiny a navěky prokleti!

I stand above a deep abyss and look down into the depths. The wind chills me to the bone. It would be so easy to jump, to get rid of all my worries and pain. To shatter into a thousand pieces and burn forever in hell. Just fly for a moment, float, become a insignificant part of the cycle of life and death. This is my first encounter with the music of Norwegian band MISOTHEIST, and from the very beginning it has been a very intense experience, awakening many dark and cold fantasies in my mind.
I feel the ancient power of black metal in the songs, its frost, accumulated anger, passion for utter darkness, aggression, but also melancholy gathered in the deep endless forests of the north. Once again, I found myself just sitting there, listening, not wanting to write a single word. The band dug its sharp, rotten claws into me and wouldn't let go. It got into my veins, into my subconscious, and tore me apart from the inside.
At first, the album crept up on me like a poisonous snake. I swayed to the rhythm and felt spellbound. It was as if terrifying forces from another world had come out of the shadows and bewitched me. Satan stands around the corner and smiles; no wonder, they're playing for him too. The songs are rather slow, reminiscent of ancient ceremonies, rituals for summoning the darkest forces. I deliberately turned off all the lights and let "De Pinte" work its magic on me. I must confirm, and I will gladly sign it with my own blood, that it was a very powerful experience every time. The sharp, chilling sound, the scenery on the cover, the band's approach, a certain mystery and magic, all this together forms a whole that every loyal fan of utter darkness must appreciate. Black metal can be played in different ways, here it is rather calmer. But only on the surface, inside it bubbles like blood in a long-untreated, inflamed wound. The world around me can burn in flames, I will remain solid as a rock, like the handwriting of this cursed pack, like their new album, which could easily be food for the most terrifying demons. MISOTHEIST have their own unique style; they are original, genuine, authentic, and completely true to themselves. The individual motifs are very well written, with drive, raw evil, and utter darkness. I recommend listening to it somewhere alone, preferably above a precipice, looking down into the terrifying depths. It is in these moments and places that the power of this recording stands out the most. By the way, the vocals are excellent and deserve a separate chapter. But there's no time for that, I have to press play again and set off into the endless forests. Into winter, into utter darkness. Poisonous, melancholic, frosty, and dark black metal that will captivate you! You will be dragged into the depths and cursed forever!
