Ležíš ve starém opuštěném domě na konci ulice a nikoho dávno nezajímáš. Moc dobře víš, že brzy zemřeš, že se staneš démonem, ale smrt nepřichází. Zatím jen chodí okolo a usmívá se, s nabroušenou kosou, se seznamem hříchů. Hniješ zaživa, postupně se rozkládáš. Samota těla, samota duše, modlíš se k peklu, abys už vydechl naposledy. Kdysi dávno, když byl ještě svět normální, tak tě bavilo žít. Ale teď? Pomalu, v nekonečných bolestech, přecházíš na druhou stranou.
Průvodcem tvého utrpení i postupného rozkladu bylo tentokrát druhé dlouhohrající album death metalové kapely THE GLORIOUS DEATH z Floridy. Ti jsou naplno věrni odkazu svých morbidních předků a hrají divoce, ostře, nekompromisně, temně a s krvavou jiskrou v oku. Jedná se o kapelu, která do vás zasekne svůj dráp a už vás nikdy nepustí. Alespoň mě se to stalo.
Album je surovým útokem ze záhrobí. Základem je klasický, prašivý death metal, ale zazní i ostře nasekané thrashové prvky. Novinka má v sobě velké množství nakumulovaného pradávného vzteku, tlaku, špíny a energie. Jakoby při každé skladbě povstali nemrtví a začínali se mstít za všechna příkoří a nespravedlnost, která jim byla za jejich krutého života způsobena. Kapela hraje s nadšením, uvěřitelně, opravdově a autenticky. Říká se, že na smrt zůstaneme nakonec všichni sami a "The Worst Fears of Death" je přesně tím druhem maniakální hudby, která vás převede na druhou stranu za řeku Styx. Novou nahrávkou můžete s klidem zaplatit převozníkovi nebo ji pustit vlastním démonům, které určitě po smrti velmi brzy potkáte. THE GLORIOUS DEATH ctí všechny atributy dobrého smrtícího kovu. Mají surový, přesto dobře čitelný zvuk, zajímavý motiv na obalu, ale hlavně velkou spoustu zajímavých nápadů, které mě pokaždé strhnou do hlubiny a přikovou na zeď. Jedná se samozřejmě o hluboký underground, o hudbu, která jednou bude znít všude na kdysi krásné zemi, až bude spálena na popel. Pro mě je vždy důležité, aby došlo ke vzájemnému přenosu krutých a mrtvolných emocí, mezi mnou a kapelou. V tomto případě to platí na sto procent. Lituji snad jen jediného, že jsem ještě kapelu nikdy neviděl naživo. Určitě si poslechněte i předchozí stejnojmenné album z roku 2013, které také hoří zevnitř. Nemůžu jinak, než vám novinku doporučit a znovu přidat hlasitost na svém přehrávači. Ležím ve starém opuštěném domě na konci ulice a nikoho dávno nezajímám. Moc dobře vím, že brzy zemřu, že se stanu démonem, ale smrt nepřichází. Ostrý, surový, temný death metal, u kterého shnijete zaživa! Album, u kterého odpadává maso od kostí!

This time, the guide through your suffering and gradual decay was the second full-length album by the Florida-based death metal band THE GLORIOUS DEATH. They are fully faithful to the legacy of their morbid ancestors and play wildly, sharply, uncompromisingly, darkly, and with a bloody spark in their eyes. This is a band that sinks its claws into you and never lets go. At least, that’s what happened to me.
The album is a raw assault from beyond the grave. It’s rooted in classic, gritty death metal, but also features sharply chopped-up thrash elements. The new release contains a massive amount of accumulated ancient rage, pressure, filth, and energy. It’s as if, with every song, the undead rise and begin to take revenge for all the hardships and injustices inflicted upon them during their cruel lives. The band plays with enthusiasm, believably, genuinely, and authentically. They say that in the end, we’re all alone in death, and “The Worst Fears of Death” is exactly the kind of maniacal music that will ferry you across the River Styx. You can use this new album to pay the ferryman, or play it for your own demons, whom you’re sure to meet very soon after death. THE GLORIOUS DEATH honors all the attributes of good death metal. They have a raw yet clear sound, an interesting cover design, but above all, a wealth of intriguing ideas that always pull me into the depths and pin me to the wall. This is, of course, deep underground music - the kind that will one day be heard everywhere across this once-beautiful land, once it has been reduced to ashes. For me, it’s always important that there be a mutual exchange of cruel and deathly emotions between me and the band. In this case, that’s true one hundred percent. My only regret is that I’ve never seen the band live. Be sure to check out their previous self-titled album from 2013, which also burns from within. I can’t help but recommend this new release and turn up the volume on my player once again.
