Už od dětství trávil většinu času u obrazovek. Zabíjel ve hrách děsivá monstra, sledoval krásné ženy, které dělaly věci, o kterých se vám ani nesní. Mučil nevinné, sbíral body za to, že někomu ubližuje. Dospěl a začalo ho zajímat, jaké to je, udělat všechny ty hnusné věci reálně. Když to zkusil poprvé, tak ucítil pradávný pach krve. Nůž byl jeho nejlepším společníkem. Absolutně chladný, v přímém kontaktu bez emocí. Stal se hvězdou, píšou se o něm knihy, zatímco pozůstalí pláčou ve stínu.

WARSIDE jsou death metalová kapela z Francie, která hraje surově, upřímně, ostře a divoce. Témata jejich textů jsou aktuální, týkající se naší psychiky ovlivněné tisíci hodinami u obrazovek, na sociálních sítích, mimo realitu. Pro mě osobně je to velmi zajímavé, protože to, co vidím poslední roky ve svém okolí, tak mě upřímně děsí. Konečně to také někdo pojmenoval.

Co jsem pochopil, tak kapela od minulého EP "The Enemy Inside" změnila sestavu a stala se přímočařejší. Má syrovější a masivnější zvuk, útočí rovnou na solar plexus. Nové album jsem poslouchal již několik dní a začal si všímat prázdných obličejů lidí v městské hromadné dopravě. Působili na jako nějaké šílené zombie, závislé na imaginárních myšlenkách někoho jiného. Jakoby už dávno začala apokalypsa a někdo je ovládal na dálku. Pokud bych potom měl k někomu styl WARSIDE přirovnat, tak bych volil jména jako VOMITORY, MISERY INDEX, DYING FETUS, ABORTED, CRIMINAL ELEMENT. Zkrátka a dobře, pánové se s tím moc nepářou, jsou ostří a nekompromisní. Každý riff se vám zadře pod kůži, jako nějaký hřeb, každá melodie vám propláchne mozek kyselinou. Skladby jsou navíc velmi dobře napsány, mají v sobě potřebný drive, sílu, tlak a takovou tu pradávnou energii a touhu ničit hudbou. Nová nahrávka "Cognitive Extinction" na mě funguje ve všech bodech obhajoby. Rád se k ní vracím, rvu si ji do hlavy pokaždé, když mě začne současný svět štvát, když se ve mě nakumuluje takový ten zdravý vztek, frustrace a bezmoc. Líbí se mi melodie, jednotlivé nápady, motivy, celková atmosféra alba. Připadá mi a jsem si s tím naprosto jistý, že nikde nic nechybí, ani nepřebývá. Vypínám televizi, počítač, zahazuji mobilní telefon a přidávám na svém přehrávači hlasitost. Novinka na mě působí jako srážka s náklaďákem naloženým kostmi, lebkami a těly těch, kteří byli ve virtuální realitě prokleti. Za sebe, za starého prašivého psa, který se toulá v katakombách již několik dekád, vám mohu tuhle nahrávku jenom doporučit. Hoří totiž zevnitř! Surový, masivní, ostrý a nespoutaný death metal, který vás roztrhá na kusy! Album ostré jako břitva!

WARSIDE is a death metal band from France that plays raw, honest, sharp, and wild. The themes of their lyrics are timely, addressing our psyche influenced by thousands of hours spent in front of screens, on social media, detached from reality. For me personally, this is very interesting because what I’ve seen around me in recent years honestly terrifies me. Finally, someone has put a name to it.

From what I understand, the band has changed its lineup since their last EP, "The Enemy Inside", and has become more direct. They have a rawer, more massive sound that hits you right in the solar plexus. I’ve been listening to the new album for a few days now and have started noticing the blank expressions on people’s faces on public transportation. They seemed like some kind of crazy zombies, addicted to someone else’s imaginary thoughts. As if the apocalypse had begun long ago and someone was controlling them remotely. If I were to compare WARSIDE’s style to anyone, I’d pick names like VOMITORY, MISERY INDEX, DYING FETUS, ABORTED, CRIMINAL ELEMENT. In short, these guys don’t mess around; they’re sharp and uncompromising. Every riff digs under your skin like a nail, every melody washes your brain with acid. The songs are also very well written; they have the necessary drive, power, intensity, and that primal energy and desire to destroy through music. The new album "Cognitive Extinction" works for me on every level. I love coming back to it; I play it on repeat whenever the modern world starts to get on my nerves, whenever that healthy mix of anger, frustration, and helplessness builds up inside me. I love the melodies, the individual ideas, the themes, and the overall atmosphere of the album. It seems to me and I’m absolutely certain of this that nothing is missing, nor is anything superfluous. I turn off the TV, the computer, toss my cell phone aside, and crank up the volume on my player. This new release hits me like a collision with a truck loaded with bones, skulls, and the bodies of those cursed in virtual reality. Speaking for myself, an old mangy dog who’s been wandering the catacombs for decades, I can only recommend this recording to you. It’s burning from the inside! Raw, massive, sharp, and unbridled death metal that will tear you to pieces! An album as sharp as a razor!
