Obejme mě chlad a nekonečná temnota. Také slyšíte řev hladové bestie? Když poslouchám tohle album, tak ano. To vám klidně podepíšu vlastní krví.

A dělá to elegantně, s nadhledem a zkušenostmi. Není to ani účelem. A já nemohu jinak, než vám album doporučit.

Asphyx says:

Legends say that somewhere deep in the woods there is an ancient cave where an ancient beast still dwells. I picked up the new album by the German black death metal band CH’AHOM and set out to find the places where terrifying, bloody rituals once took place. I treaded quietly, reading the symbols of cruel death carved into the stones. I step inside slowly, dusty bones crunching beneath my feet. A chill and endless darkness envelop me. Can you hear the roar of the hungry beast, too? When I listen to this album, I certainly can. I’ll gladly sign that with my own blood.

The first few listens were a bit challenging for me, after all. Some of the song structures are quite complex, dissonant, and progressive in that interestingly “unpleasant” way. This new release simply requires time, peace, quiet preferably complete darkness and a healthy dose of morbid imagination. But if you stick with it, you’ll be rewarded with a truly fascinating and harrowing experience.

The cover may depict the entrance to an ancient cave, but it could just as easily be a gateway to another dimension. The only way to find out is to listen to this new release over and over again. It will become your own personal, bloody ritual, an ancient mantra it will get under your skin and into your subconscious. A peculiar restlessness, like poisonous ivy, runs through the entire recording a feeling that is, on the one hand, very alluring, and on the other, almost painful. In its own way, it’s a different, distinctive album; the band has its own signature style and isn’t afraid to experiment or cut to the quick. And they do it elegantly, with a sense of perspective and experience. The sound is well-executed, and I’ve already mentioned the interesting cover art. But the main thing, as always, is the music itself. I’m absolutely certain that “Anthropic Rites of Sublimation” won’t be everyone’s cup of tea. That’s not even the point. Personally, I’m enjoying the new album, especially when it gets dark and the darkness beyond our city begins to beckon me. I set out on a journey, and my steps always lead me to a cave shrouded in terrifying legends. The Germans have managed to blend classic, traditional, old-school foundations with newer, fresh elements. The result is a cocktail that, if you drink it, will kill you in mad, painful convulsions. CH’AHOM play their own way; they have their own expression and signature style. They cut with the right side of the knife. They resemble a volcano that has just begun to spew lava. All that remains in their wake is destruction, scorched earth, and a deep, bloody trail. And I can’t help but recommend this album to you. It burns from within, even though on the surface it’s cold and dark like the most terrifying visions. A harrowing, painful, raw, and infinitely dark black death metal album that will seep into your subconscious!
