Další kobka, další dlouhá bezesná noc. Musím vše uklidit, přerovnat kosti, uložit ostatky do prašivé rakve. Dělám tuhle práci již více než 35 let a pohybuji se mezi stíny opatrně, pokorně. Dost často zde potkávám samotnou Smrt, démony, občas zahlédnu i Satana. Moc dobře dávno vím, že až zemřu, tak nebude nic, jenom nekonečná tma, strach, bolest a utrpení. Než se tak ale stane, tak budu podporovat kapely jako MORBID ABOMINATION. Pánové jsou z Rakouska a letos na nás útočí se svým druhým dlouhohrajícím albem.
Jestli jsem to dobře pochopil, tak jsou bicí naprogramované. Většinou mi to vadí, ale tady jsem spokojený. Jinak máme co do činění s klasickým, velmi dobře zahraným death metalem ze staré školy. V téhle kobce se mi líbilo velmi dlouho a rád jsem se do ní vracel. Smrdí totiž zatuchlinou, vzpomínkami na devadesátá léta minulého století a mrtvoly jsou zohaveny s elegancí starých mistrů v oboru. Nezbývá mi nic jiného, než se spokojeně kývat do rytmu, bouchat pěstí do zdi a vzývat všechny své démony.
Novinka musela samozřejmě vznikat hluboko v podzemí. Důkazem budiž masivní, nekompromisní, řezající zvuk. Osobně se mi líbí i motiv na obalu. Po formální stránce pánové odvedli skvělou práci. To ale v dnešní době nestačí. Hlavní je hudba samotná, nápady, zajímavé a neotřelé momenty. Tohle všechno na "Delusions" naleznete ve velké míře. Navíc se novinka velmi dobře poslouchá a řeže tou správnou stranou nože. Má v sobě něco morbidně přitažlivého, něco shnilého, surového, co mě nutí znovu a znovu zapínat play na mém přehrávači. Rakušané splnili všechny mé podmínky, které vyžaduji. Jsou opravdoví, reální, uvěřitelní, hrají od srdce a ze skladeb je cítit, slyšet autenticita. Jasně, že spousta věcí, které hrají, zde již byla, nevymýšlí se nic nového, přesto si myslím, že novinka není jen dobře odvedeným řemeslem. Má v sobě něco navíc, takový ten heavy efekt, řezající nože, odpadává u ní maso od kostí. Hlídám vstup do podsvětí již mnoho dekád a myslím si, že pokud na tom jste jako já, tak mi má slova potvrdíte. Kdysi jsem si dal za úkol, že budu podobné smečky podporovat. V tomto případě tak činím opravdu rád. Pánové se mi trefili přesně do vkusu. Jsme stejné krve! Líbí se mi, jak jsou skladby napsány, kolik v sobě mají energie, tlaku, ale i tmy a chladu. Another dungeon, another long, sleepless night. I have to clean everything up, rearrange the bones, and place the remains in a rusty coffin. I’ve been doing this job for more than 35 years, moving among the shadows cautiously, humbly. Quite often, I encounter Death herself here, as well as demons; sometimes I even catch a glimpse of Satan. I’ve known for a long time that when I die, there will be nothing only endless darkness, fear, pain, and suffering. But until that happens, I’ll be supporting bands like MORBID ABOMINATION. These guys are from Austria, and this year they’re hitting us with their second full-length album.
If I understand correctly, the drums are programmed. Usually that bothers me, but in this case I’m satisfied. Otherwise, we’re dealing with classic, very well-played old-school death metal. I’ve enjoyed this dungeon for a very long time and have loved returning to it. It reeks of mustiness, memories of the 1990s, and the corpses are mutilated with the elegance of the old masters of the craft. I have no choice but to nod contentedly to the beat, pound my fist against the wall, and summon all my demons.
This new release obviously had to be created deep underground. The proof lies in its massive, uncompromising, cutting sound. Personally, I also like the cover art. From a technical standpoint, the guys did a great job. But that’s not enough these days. What matters most is the music itself the ideas, the interesting and fresh moments. You’ll find all of this in abundance on "Delusions". Plus, the album is a pleasure to listen to and cuts right through with the right edge of the knife. There’s something morbidly alluring about it something rotten and raw that compels me to hit play on my player again and again. The Austrians have met all my requirements. They’re genuine, real, believable they play from the heart, and you can feel and hear the authenticity in their songs. Sure, a lot of what they play has been done before; they aren’t inventing anything new. Still, I think this new album is more than just a job well done. It has something extra that heavy, knife cutting effect that makes the flesh fall off the bone. I’ve been guarding the entrance to the underworld for many decades now, and I think that if you’re like me, you’ll agree with what I’m saying. I once made it my mission to support bands like this. In this case, I’m truly happy to do so. These guys are exactly my kind of music. We’re cut from the same cloth! I love how the songs are written, how much energy and intensity they have, but also how much darkness and coldness. Another dungeon, another long, sleepless night.
