Mezi lidmi se vyprávěly děsivé legendy o tom, že vysoko v horách je jeskyně, do které když vstoupíte, naleznete vchod do samotného pekla. Jako starému fanouškovi temnoty mi nezbývalo nic jiného, než se vydat na další cestu bez konce. Byl jsem rozhodnutý, že dojdu svého cíle, že se pokloním naprostému zlu a objevím další temná zákoutí. Vstupuji dovnitř, sestupuji dolů, po plesnivých schodech. V kostech se mi usadil mráz smíchaný se strachem. Najednou jsem cítil, že jsem zde správně. Na zdi hořel nakreslený pentagram a pod ním bylo krví napsáno HEADHUNTER D.C.
O táhle smečce jsem kdysi dávno, když jsem začínal u muzice psát, vytvořil recenzi na předchozí dlouhohrající album "...in Unholy Mourning..." (2012). Dodnes mám tuhle nahrávku na předních místech své soukromé diskografie a tak jsem se na letošní novinku těšil, jako na znesvěcený hrob. Tahle smečka totiž, když si prověříte celou jejich diskografii, sahající až do roku 1987, hraje naprosto uvěřitelně, syrově, ďábelsky, morbidně a hlavně autenticky. Jsme jedné krve, řvu zase jednou do tmy!
Nové album "Rise of the Damned..." je dokonalou směsí pradávného, zabijáckého death metalu, ušpiněného chladným black metalem i ostrými thrashovými prvky. Pánové hrají odhodlaně, s krvavou jiskrou v oku a já jim věřím každý úder bicích, každou melodii, riff i výkřik bestie. Tohle je hudba z toho nejhlubšího podzemí, špinavá, zahraná s morbidním talentem pro záhrobní věci nemrtvých. Pokud máte rádi smečky jako POSSESSED, ACHERON, VITAL REMAINS, DEICIDE, VADER, ale třeba i BATHORY, VENOM, určitě si novinku užijete stejně jako já, starý pes, který hlídá vstup do podsvětí již několik dekád. Brazilci jsou ve skvělé formě, stále v sobě mají pověstný jihoamerický zabijácký instinkt a i letos potvrzují status naprosté legendy. HEADHUNTER D.C. jsou jako ozvěna ze starých časů, jako jezdci apokalypsy, kteří se díky novým skladbám probudili, povstali ze svých prokletých hrobů a chtějí se pomstít všem, kteří slepě věří v dávno padlé modly. Tahle smečka touží po čerstvé krvi! Vše je ohlodané až na kost, na samou podstatu extrémního metalu. A činěno je tak s elegancí a zkušenostmi starých mistrů v oboru. Najednou při poslechu nesedím ve svém pokoji, ale opravdu sestupuji dolů, po plesnivých schodech. Do hlubiny, v jedné z prokletých jeskyní v horách. Vstupuji dovnitř, přidávám hlasitost na svém přehrávači, ztrácím se v naprosté tmě, naslouchám šepotu nemrtvých. Na stěnách jsou přikována těla hříšníků a někteří ještě trošku žijí. Šeptají, prosí o smrt. Ďábel sedí na svém trůnu a usmívá se. Není divu, hraje se zde i pro něj a pro všechny prokleté. Blasfemický, syrový, na kost ohlodaný death metal, který vás navěky prokleje! Nahrávka, u které se vám znovu otevřou staré rány a objeví stigmata!

As a longtime fan of the darkness, I had no choice but to set out on yet another endless journey. I was determined to reach my goal, to bow down to absolute evil, and to discover more dark corners. Long ago, when I first started writing about music, I reviewed this band’s previous full-length album, "...in Unholy Mourning..." (2012). To this day, that record remains near the top of my personal discography, so I was looking forward to this year’s new release like a desecrated grave. If you check out their entire discography, which dates back to 1987, you’ll find that this pack plays with absolute credibility, rawness, devilishness, morbidity, and above all, authenticity. We are of the same blood I roar once more into the darkness!
The new album "Rise of the Damned..." is a perfect blend of ancient, killer death metal, tainted with cold black metal and sharp thrash elements. These guys play with determination, a bloodthirsty gleam in their eyes, and I believe every drum beat, every melody, every riff, and every beastly scream. This is music from the deepest underworld, dirty, played with a morbid talent for the otherworldly affairs of the undead. If you like bands like POSSESSED, ACHERON, VITAL REMAINS, DEICIDE, VADER, but also BATHORY, VENOM, you’ll definitely enjoy this new release just as much as I do, an old dog who’s been guarding the entrance to the underworld for several decades now. The Brazilians are in great form, still possessing that legendary South American killer instinct, and this year they once again confirm their status as absolute legends. HEADHUNTER D.C. are like an echo from the old days, like the horsemen of the apocalypse who, thanks to these new songs, have awakened, risen from their cursed graves, and seek revenge on all who blindly believe in long-fallen idols. This pack craves fresh blood! Everything has been stripped down to the bone, to the very essence of extreme metal. And it’s done with the elegance and expertise of the old masters of the genre. Suddenly, as I listen, I’m no longer sitting in my room, but actually descending down a moldy staircase. Into the depths, into one of the cursed caves in the mountains. I step inside, turn up the volume on my player, lose myself in total darkness, and listen to the whispers of the undead. The bodies of sinners are chained to the walls, and some are still barely alive. They whisper, begging for death. The Devil sits on his throne and smiles. No wonder this is a performance for him and for all the damned. Blasphemous, raw, bone-gnawing death metal that will curse you for eternity! A recording that will reopen your old wounds and reveal stigmata!
