Příliš bolesti, příliš strachu. Rozdrásaný zevnitř utíkáš pryč. Daleko od hlučícího města, přechytralých lidí, od zla a nenávisti. Zrozen kdysi v temnotě, stojíš nad propastí a modlíš se k Bohu. Odpověď nikdy nepřijde. Ostatně jako vždycky. Roztáhneš ruce, padáš po zádech do hlubiny. Vnášíš se, létáš, jsi konečně svobodný. Roztříštíš se na tisíc kousků. Najdou tě až po několika letech, nikomu si stejně nechyběl. Kolik podobných příběhů ještě uslyším?
Je to moje první setkání s polskou black death metalovou kapelou MIND AFFLICTION a musím rovnou napsat, že se jedná o velmi povedený obřad. Pánové uctívají základní principy stylu, ale nebojí se i lehce experimentovat. Novinka je tak velmi pestrým, zajímavým albem, které vás roztrhá zevnitř. Stejně jako nebožáka z úvodu dnešní recenze.
Některé momenty a pasáže jsou na albu skoro až nepříjemné. Je to samozřejmě účelem a působí tak jenom během několika prvních setkání. Není to zkrátka album na jeden poslech. Chce čas, klid, nejlépe temný a chladný sklep a teprve až potom vyniknou na povrch jednotlivé nuance. Poláci umí být suroví a nekompromisní, ale nezapomínají ani na chladnou a nekonečně temnou atmosféru. Celou nahrávkou se jako jedovatý břečťan vine jakýsi těžko definovatelný neklid. Připadal jsem si zavřený ve špinavé kobce, mučený a odsouzený ke smrti. Kolem mě tančí krysy na ostrých střepech nenávisti a čekají na svůj kus masa. Nebude to dlouho trvat. I hudba je zde ohlodaná na kost, divoká, nespoutaná a divoká zevnitř, na povrchu pokrytá mrazivými pavučinami. Všichni jsme vzešli z chaosu a také v něm jednou zemřeme. MIND AFFLICTION odříkávají svoji děsivou mantru, zvou vás na obřad plný násilí a zkažené krve. Jedná se o velmi uvěřitelnou, ryzí a opravdovou záležitost. "No Future, No Light" je albem, které se mi zadřelo pod kůži i do podvědomí až po nějakém čase. Je to tak dobře, mám alespoň jistotu, že tam zůstane delší dobu. Mě tak nezbývá nic jiného, než se nechat pohltit temnotou. Příliš bolesti, příliš strachu. Rozdrásaný zevnitř utíkám pryč. Daleko od hlučícího města, přechytralých lidí, od zla a nenávisti. Roztříštěn a roztrhán na kusy poslouchám tohle album stále dál a opravdu si ho užívám. Za mě, starého psa, který hlídá vstup do podzemí již několik dekád, vám jej mohu jen doporučit. Hoří totiž zevnitř. Je neklidné, divoké a syrové. Black death metalová definice rozkladu lidské mysli, chaosu a utrpení! Temnota, chlad a děsivý neklid!

This is my first encounter with the Polish black death metal band MIND AFFLICTION, and I have to say right off the bat that it’s a very successful ritual. These guys honor the core principles of the genre, but they’re not afraid to experiment a little. The new album is a very diverse, interesting record that will tear you apart from the inside. Just like the poor soul from the beginning of today’s review.
Some moments and passages on the album are almost unpleasant. This is, of course, intentional, and they only come across that way during the first few listens. It’s simply not an album meant to be listened to just once. It takes time, peace and quiet preferably a dark, cold basement and only then do the individual nuances come to the surface. The Poles know how to be raw and uncompromising, but they don’t forget to create a cold and infinitely dark atmosphere either. A kind of hard to define unease winds its way through the entire recording like poisonous ivy. I felt as if I were locked in a filthy dungeon, tortured and condemned to death. Around me, rats dance on the sharp shards of hatred, waiting for their piece of flesh. It won’t be long now. Even the music here is gnawed down to the bone wild, untamed, and ferocious from within, covered on the surface with icy cobwebs. We all emerged from chaos, and we will all die in it one day. MIND AFFLICTION chant their terrifying mantra, inviting you to a ritual full of violence and tainted blood. This is a very believable, pure, and genuine affair. “No Future, No Light” is an album that didn’t really sink in and get under my skin and into my subconscious until some time had passed. That’s just as well; at least I can be sure it’ll stay there for a long time. So I have no choice but to let myself be swallowed up by the darkness. Too much pain, too much fear. The answer never comes. Just like always. I spread my arms and fall on my back into the depths. Shattered and torn to pieces, I keep listening to this album over and over, and I’m really enjoying it. As for me, an old dog who’s been guarding the entrance to the underworld for several decades now, I can only recommend it to you. It burns from within. It’s restless, wild, and raw. The black death metal definition of the decay of the human mind, chaos, and suffering! Darkness, cold, and terrifying restlessness!
