Ten obrázek byl stále stejný. Pokaždé, když ses ocitl v různém koutě světa, tak ses díval do očí umírajících obětí. Všechny, bez rozdílu věku, pohlaví nebo stáří, měly velký strach. Z čerstvých ran jim unikala krev i život. Přemýšlel si, jak bys jim pomohl, ale ony by stejně nakonec zemřely hladem. Svět byl pokaždé hrozně temný, zlý a obejmula tě nekonečná beznaděj. Definice nihilismu. Přesně takhle na mě působí i nové album kanadsko-indických maniaků MORS VERUM.
Tahle kapela hraje technický, progresivní death metal s příměsí disonance. Jednotlivé skladby jsou velmi propracované, skvěle zahrané i složené. Mají v sobě potřebnou porci síly, tlaku, energie a uvěřitelnosti. Komplikované pasáže jsou kombinovány se vzdušnými, album tak má velmi podmanivou atmosféru.
Někdy mám při poslechu pocit, že se dusím vlastním strachem, ocitám se na místech, kde se stalo něco zlého. Vnímám, prožívám hudbu celým svým tělem, všemi póry i vědomím. Prostou pravdou je, že jsem spíše příznivec klasického, tradičního death metalu, v něm jsem si jistý a je i mým základem, ale pokaždé, když potkám kapelu jako jsou MORS VERUM, tak si užívám svoji fantazii, kterou dokáží podobné smečky rozdrásat do krve. Za velmi povedený považuji zvuk i motiv na obalu, vše tu sedí tak nějak samozřejmě na svých místech. Město, na které se dívám z okna, je najednou zahalené do černých, zlověstných mraků. Riffy gradují, zařezávají se mi spolu s vokálem a bicími hluboko pod kůži i do podvědomí. Jste fanoušci kapel jako MORBID ANGEL, GORGUTS, NORSE, SAEVUS FINIS, ULCERATE? Potom byste určitě měli zbystřit svoji pozornost. "Canvas" je velmi neklidným albem, které řeže tou správnou stranou nože. Naleznete na něm spoustu nálad, které se v průběhu poslechu mění. Novinka mi připomíná jakýsi živoucí organismus, který snad ani není z našeho světa. Sedávám ve svém pokoji a nechávám na sebe všechno jen tak v poklidu působit. Užívám si jednotlivé nuance, technické finesy a kývám se spokojeně do rytmu. Za mě se jedná o velmi povedené EP, které by nemělo chybět ve sbírce nejen fanoušků tohoto stylu. Až se zase jednou budete dívat do očí umírajících v různých koutech světa a padne na vás nekonečný splín, určitě si na mě i tuhle smečku vzpomenete. Propracovaný, technický, progresivní, disharmonický, disonantní death metal, který vás strhne do hlubin nihilismu!

The image was always the same. Every time you found yourself in a different corner of the world, you looked into the eyes of dying victims. All of them, regardless of age, gender, or old age, were very afraid. Blood and life were escaping from their fresh wounds. You wondered how you could help them, but they would die of starvation anyway. The world was always terribly dark and evil, and you were overcome by endless despair. The definition of nihilism. That's exactly how the new album by Canadian-Indian maniacs MORS VERUM strikes me.
This band plays technical, progressive death metal with a touch of dissonance. The individual songs are very sophisticated, brilliantly played and composed. They have the necessary amount of power, pressure, energy, and credibility. Complicated passages are combined with airy ones, giving the album a very captivating atmosphere.
Sometimes when I listen to it, I feel like I'm suffocating from my own fear, finding myself in places where something bad has happened. I perceive and experience music with my whole body, with every pore and my consciousness. The simple truth is that I am more of a fan of classic, traditional death metal, which I am confident in and which is my foundation, but every time I encounter a band like MORS VERUM, I enjoy my imagination, which such bands can tear to shreds. I consider the sound and the cover art to be very well done, everything fits together naturally. The city I see from my window is suddenly shrouded in black, ominous clouds. The riffs escalate, cutting deep into my skin and subconscious along with the vocals and drums. Are you fans of bands like MORBID ANGEL, GORGUTS, NORSE, SAEVUS FINIS, ULCERATE? Then you should definitely pay attention. "Canvas" is a very restless album that cuts with the right side of the knife. You will find a lot of moods on it that change as you listen. The new release reminds me of a kind of living organism that may not even be from our world. I sit in my room and let everything just affect me in peace. I enjoy the individual nuances, technical finesse, and sway contentedly to the rhythm. In my opinion, this is a very successful EP that should not be missing from the collection of fans of this style and others. When you once again look into the eyes of the dying in various corners of the world and feel an endless melancholy, you will surely remember me and this pack. Sophisticated, technical, progressive, disharmonious, dissonant death metal that will drag you into the depths of nihilism!
