Je vedro k zalknutí a nad močálem se vznáší pach rozkládajících se těl. Chata uprostřed ničeho, s klecemi plnými budoucích obětí. Aligátoři čekající netrpělivě na svoji dávku. Starý chlápek se vydával na lov celý svůj život. S milým úsměvem na tváři a touhou zabíjet v srdci. Florida vydala další ze svých děsivých svědectví. Někde v těchto místech se musela nahrávat i debutová nahrávka amerických maniaků PLASMODULATED.

Hnilobný smrtící kov, ušpiněný ostrým thrash metalem. Tak lze popsat základ téhle hudby. Přidávány jsou potom další morbidní vlivy, surové pasáže, ale i špinavé chladné melodie. Je vám asi zcela jasné, že jako první mě zaujala temná a prašivá atmosféra celé nahrávky.

Kapela byla původně jednočlenným projektem Myka Colbyho. Postupně se přidali další muzikanti, aby dali vzniknout monstru, které hraje s pradávnou krvavou jiskrou v oku. Předkládaný death metal je ve své podstatě starý a ohavný, zahraný s elegancí mistrů v oboru. Slyším zde lehké odkazy na DEMILICH, na tradiční floridskou školu, kterou mají samozřejmě pánové dávno v genetické výbavě, ale třeba i lehké vlivy VOIVOD. Výsledný koktejl je nejen zajímavý a drásavý, ale zároveň se opravdu velmi dobře poslouchá. Pamatujete si na klasické horory z osmdesátých let? Tak nálady jsou na novém albu "An Ocean ov Putrid, Stinky, Vile, Disgusting Hell" velmi podobné. Jako bych byl opravdu někde v lese, kde se pevnina setkává se špinavou řekou, hned vedle močálů a sledoval, jak se starý maniak s krvelačnou radostí vydává znovu na lov. Ve skladbách je takový ten pověstný drive, "primitivní" síla, morbidní nádech, který mám u tradičního smrtícího kovu tolik rád. Je v nich drive, mají v sobě takový ten těžko popsatelný heavy efekt. Troufám si tvrdit, že tahle nahrávka by neměla chybět ve sbírce žádného opravdového posluchače. Zmínit musím i velmi povedený zvuk (John Howard - mixing, mastering) a samozřejmě stylový motiv na obalu, pod kterým je podepsán GruesomeGraphx. Zkrátka a dobře, tahle kapela umí napsat muziku, která řeže tou správnou stranou nože. Při poslechu vám začne odpadávat maso od kostí a začnete hnít zevnitř. Somewhere in these parts, the debut record of American maniacs PLASMODULATED must have been recorded.

Rotten death metal, stained with sharp thrash metal. That's how you can describe the basis of this music. More morbid influences are then added, raw passages, but also dirty cold melodies. It is probably quite clear to you that the first thing that caught my attention was the dark and dusty atmosphere of the whole record.

The band was originally a one-man project of Myk Colby. Gradually, other musicians have joined in to create a monster that plays with an ancient bloody sparkle in its eye. The death metal on display is inherently old and vile, played with the elegance of masters in the field. I can hear light references to DEMILICH, to the traditional Florida school, which of course the gentlemen have long had in their genetic makeup, but perhaps also light VOIVOD influences. The resulting cocktail is not only interesting and poignant, but also very listenable indeed. Remember the classic horror films of the 80s? Well the moods are very similar on the new album "An Ocean ov Putrid, Stinky, Vile, Disgusting Hell". It's like I'm really somewhere in the woods where the land meets the dirty river, right next to the swamps, watching an old maniac go hunting again with bloodthirsty glee. There's that proverbial drive in the songs, the "primitive" power, the morbid touch that I love so much in traditional death metal. There is drive in them, they have that hard to describe heavy effect. I dare say that this recording should not be missing in the collection of any real listener. I have to mention the very nice sound (John Howard - mixing, mastering) and of course the stylish motif on the cover, signed by GruesomeGraphx. In short, this band knows how to write music that cuts with the right side of the knife. Listening to it, the flesh will fall off your bones and you'll start to rot from the inside.
