Mrtvolný puch! Rozkládající se těla. Kosti, které praskají tlakem. Lebky bez očí, s prázdnými dírami a smrtelným pohledem. Na death metalové mapě mám vyznačená už všechna pohřebiště. Cestuji záhrobím, nasávám pach hniloby a vybírám si jen ty nejzkaženější kousky masa. Záleží jen, zda jsou podávány na víku od rakve. Tentokrát bych vám rád představil kapelu GRAVE INFESTATION z Kanady. Ti mají na svém kontě dvě demonahrávky a jednu kompilaci.
Letos přicházejí s první dlouhohrající deskou, která je v podstatě dokonalou definicí toho, co mám na smrtícím kovu rád. Zastřený, prašivý zvuk (Jesse Gander - Recording, Mixing, Marco S. - Mastering), obal (Matt Stikker) - vše sedí perfektně na svých místech. Vy si tak můžete vychutnat hudbu, která musela být nahrávána v tom nejhlubším podzemí. Svět je zahalen do černé mlhy!
Pokud jako já bezezbytku uctíváte smečky jako AUTOPSY, OBITUARY, SLAUGHTER, BOLT THROWER, budete určitě spokojeni i s "Persecution Of The Living". Potkává se zde tradiční americká death metalová škola s finskou a v některých momentech i švédskou. Záleží, jak hudbu vnímáte. Já mohu říci jediné - pánové jsou zcela oddáni základním myšlenkám smrti. Nenechávají nic náhodě a album se mi ihned vlilo do žil jako prudký jed. Dveře do záhrobí byly otevřeny. Stačí jen přijmou pozvání. Čeká vás jen utrpení, chlad a nekonečná nicota. Songy jsou děsivé, úderné, mají jasný cíl - totálně vás zničit, vysát z vás veškerou krev a nakonec vás pohřbít zaživa. GRAVE INFESTATION exhumovali další z hromadných hrobů z devadesátých let. Na vás je, zde rádi a s chutí ohledáváte dávno pohřbená těla. Beru do ruky lopatu a kopu další díru do země. Stará rakev je svědectvím o době, kdy se hrálo ještě poctivě a od srdce. Na nějakou tu špínu se nehledělo a svět byl zahalen do tmy. Kanaďané do ní patří. Jsou uvěřitelní, reální a divocí jako vzteklí psi. Nakonec všichni zemřeme sami a budeme se muset se svým odchodem na druhou stranu nějak vyrovnat. Myslím si, že "Persecution Of The Living" může být mým převozníkem přes řeku Styx. Do říše nemrtvých. Ozvěny z prašivé death metalové kobky!

This time, I'd like to introduce you to GRAVE INFESTATION from Canada. They have two demos and one compilation to their credit.
This year they come with their first full-length album, which is basically the perfect definition of what I love about death metal. The hazy, dusty sound (Jesse Gander - Recording, Mixing, Marco S. - Mastering), the cover art (Matt Stikker) - everything fits perfectly in place. You get to enjoy music that must have been recorded in the deepest underground. The world is shrouded in a black fog!
If like me you worship bands like AUTOPSY, OBITUARY, SLAUGHTER, BOLT THROWER, you will be satisfied with "Persecution Of The Living". Traditional American school of death metal meets Finnish and at some moments Swedish. It depends on how you perceive the music. I can say only one thing - the gentlemen are completely devoted to the basic ideas of death. They leave nothing to chance and the album immediately poured into my veins like a violent poison. The door to the afterlife was opened. All they have to do is accept the invitation. All that awaits you is misery, coldness and endless nothingness. The songs are terrifying, punchy, with a clear goal - to destroy you, to suck all the blood out of you and finally bury you alive. GRAVE INFESTATION have exhumed another of the mass graves from the nineties. It's up to you, here you are, happy and eager to search the long-buried bodies. I'm taking a shovel and digging another hole in the ground. The old coffin is a testament to a time when the game was still played with honesty and heart. No matter what the dirt, the world was shrouded in darkness. Canadians belong there. They're believable, real and wild as rabid dogs. In the end, we will all die alone and have to come to terms with our passing on the other side. I think "Persecution Of The Living" may be my ferry across the River Styx. To the realm of the undead. Echoes from a dusty death metal dungeon!
