Černá krev nelze zničit. Někdy se možná zdá, že už není, neexistuje, ale opak je pravdou. Vždycky nakonec vypluje na povrch. A spálí vás. Stejně jako mě nové album švédských mágů THIRD STORM. Kapela s velmi dlouhou a zajímavou historií přichází s novinkou, která se vám dostane ihned do žil. Pokud máte rádi starý plesnivý black a death metal, zahraný hezky ponovu, svěže, originálně, tak neváhejte. Bylo brzy ráno a já vstával do práce. V ulicích se ještě toulaly přízraky a já šel kolem hřbitova. Ostré melodie se mi zakously do mozku a společné chvíle s nemrtvými se pro mě opět staly doslova povinností.
Jediným pozůstalým ze starých časů zůstal zpěvák Heval Bozarslan. Mám jeho hlas hodně rád v jeho další kapele - DEATHSWARM. Na "The Locust Mantra" opět odvedl skvělou práci. Není to ale jen on, kdo zvládá perfektně hrobnické řemeslo. I ostatní hrají jako o život. Skladby v sobě mají pradávnou sílu, jsou napsány velmi podmanivě. Přiznám se, že moje fantazie opět pracovala na 100 procent. A pohybovala se převážně v temnotě. Tohle je přesně špinavý, chladný, zahnívající černý kov, který koluje i v mých žilách.
Je to jako se vznášet na vlnách. Představte si řeku smrti, plnou nafouklých mrtvol. Jste jednou z nich. Také cítíte mráz v kostech? Já ano. Když poslouchám "The Locust Mantra", tak nevydržím v klidu. Musím ven, toulat se, nasávat hnilobu, užívat si hudbu. THIRD STORM umí být syroví, ale i vznešení a majestátní. Hodně k tomu přispívá skvělý čitelný a chladný zvuk (Lawrence Mackrory - Mixing, Mastering). Vše potom krásně ďábelsky doplňuje obal od mistra Raúla Gonzáleze. Už přes třicet let přistupuji k muzice stejně. Sednu si do prázdného pokoje. Zhasnu všechna světla. Nerozptyluji se a soustředím se naplno na poslech. Zapnu play a čekám, co se mnou nové desky udělají. "The Locust Mantra" mě doslova proklela, vytáhla z hrobu, ven do lesů a na opuštěné cesty. Připadal jsem si jako v dávných časech. Proséval jsem mezi prsty prach a kolem létaly děsivé představy. V Uppsale musí být nějaké tajné pohřebiště, na kterém kapela nahrávala. Cítím totiž velkou sílu. Originalita, vlastní výraz, energie, tlak, spousta zajímavých momentů. K nahrávce se neustále vracím a stále objevuji něco nového. Tohle je deska pro metalové gurmány, kteří ocení jednotlivé nuance. Pro démony, kteří poslouchají srdcem. Připadám si, jako bych se díval na čerstvě proříznutou tepnu. Údiv v očích, moment překvapení, bolest i úleva, na tomto albu naleznete všechno. Ozvěny z onoho světa, temnou sílu načerpanou ve věčnosti i vesmíru. Smrt i život. Černá krev nelze zničit. Někdy se možná zdá, že už není, neexistuje, ale opak je pravdou. Vždycky nakonec vypluje na povrch. A spálí vás. Zlověstný black death metalový pach smrti! Majestátní ozvěny z jiné, děsivé dimenze!

If you like old moldy black and death metal, played nice and fresh, original, don't hesitate. It was early in the morning and I was getting up for work. There were still ghosts in the streets and I was walking past the cemetery. The sharp melodies snapped into my brain and spending time with the undead became a literal obligation for me again.
The only survivor of the old days was the singer Heval Bozarslan. I like his voice a lot in his next band - DEATHSWARM. He did a great job again on "The Locust Mantra". But it's not only him who has mastered the grave digger's craft perfectly. The others also play like hell. The songs have an ancient power in them, they are written in a very captivating way. I must admit that my imagination was once again working at 100 percent. And it was mostly in the dark. This is exactly the dirty, cold, rotting black metal that runs through my veins.
It's like floating on the waves. Imagine a river of death, full of bloated corpses. You are one of them. Do you feel the chill in your bones, too? I do. When I listen to "The Locust Mantra", I can't keep still. I have to get out, wander, soak up the rot, enjoy the music. THIRD STORM can be raw, but also sublime and majestic. A lot of this is due to the great clear and cool sound (Lawrence Mackrory - Mixing, Mastering). Everything is then complemented beautifully by the devilish cover artwork by master Raúl González. I've been approaching music the same way for over thirty years. I sit down in an empty room. I turn off all the lights. I don't get distracted and I concentrate on listening. I put it on play and wait to see what the new records do to me. "The Locust Mantra" literally cursed me, pulled me out of the grave, out into the woods and onto the deserted roads. I felt like I was back in the old days. I sifted the dust between my fingers and terrifying images flew around. There must be a secret burial ground in Uppsala where the band recorded. I feel a great power. Originality, expression, energy, pressure, lots of interesting moments. I keep coming back to the record and I keep discovering something new. This is a record for metal gourmets who appreciate individual nuances. For demons who listen with their hearts. I feel like I'm looking at a freshly cut artery. The wonder in the eyes, the moment of surprise, the pain and the relief, you'll find it all on this album. Echoes of the otherworld, a dark power drawn from eternity and the universe. Death and life. Black blood cannot be destroyed. Sometimes it may seem that it no longer exists, it doesn't exist, but the opposite is true. It always surfaces eventually. And it will burn you. The sinister black death metal smell of death! Majestic echoes from another, terrifying dimension!
