Každý si představuje bestii jako nějakou krvelačnou příšeru. S velkými zuby a ostrými drápy. Jenže ono tomu bývá většinou úplně jinak. Může jí být milý soused, který vždy prohodí pár vtipných slov. Může to být váš šéf, pod kterým je radost pracovat. Nebo také neklidný chlápek, kterého potkáváte každý den v tramvaji. Působí velmi nejistě a je plachý. Zdání mnohdy klame, protože temnota je hlavně v našich myslích, ukrytá hluboko. Jste potom v šoku, když objevíte chladný sklep s kobkami. V něm budoucí oběti. Tolik bolesti a strachu dokáže jiným způsobit opravdu jenom člověk. Bestie.

Brutální death metal, v jeho tradiční a klasické podobě, jak jej hrají italští maniaci SICKENING, je právě o všech těch hnusných a ošklivých věcech, které dokážeme způsobit jeden druhému. V tomto případě je hudba opět ohlodána až na kost. Kapela se vrátila po dlouhých devíti letech, aby nám znovu přinesla další svědectví o krutosti. 


Připadám si jako v nějakém děsivém hororu, když poslouchám novou desku "The Death King". Užívám si masivní a surový zvuk, obdivuji motiv na obalu. Bylo splněno vše, aby byl fanoušek spokojen. Dostanete samozřejmě brutální death metal té nejvyšší kvality. Kapela sice tento styl nikam neposouvá, ale to ani není účelem. Sází se zde spíše na krvavou a temnou atmosféru. Volná inspirace a stylová sounáležitost třeba s takovými SUFFOCATION, CANNIBAL CORPSE, DEFEATED SANITY, DEVOURMENT, nijak nevadí. Naopak, jsem spokojený. Jak jenom může starý patolog být. Krev stříká všude kolem, lebky pukají pod ostrými nástroji, maso je odtrháváno od kostí. Italové zvládají své morbidní řemeslo velmi dobře a přidávají ještě něco navíc. Líbí se mi, že kapela nijak zbytečně neexhibuje, jak tomu bývá dnes dost často. Spíše se soustředí na dobré riffy, na poctivé motivy, které se vám dostanou postupně do krve. Přiznám se bez mučení, mám pro podobné nahrávky velkou slabost. Aplikuji je často a rád se k nim vracím. Umírám a znovu se vracím, abych vydal tajná svědectví o zlých myšlenkách. Doslova cítím pach zkažené krve, chlad kobek, řetězy, kterými jsem připoután ke zdi. SICKENING nahráli album, které by nemělo chybět ve sbírce žádného opravdového fanouška brutality v metalu. Vše sedí perfektně na svých místech a mě nezbývá nic jiného, než vám "The Death King" doporučit. Tohle je výlet do morbidní galerie smrti! Každý si představuje bestii jako nějakou krvelačnou příšeru. S velkými zuby a ostrými drápy. Jenže ono tomu bývá většinou úplně jinak. Dávejte pozor, kdo stojí ve stínu! Tradiční, klasický brutální death metal, který vám vyrve všechny vnitřnosti z těla! Chlad a temnota starých piteven!

Everyone imagines the beast as some kind of bloodthirsty monster. With big teeth and sharp claws. But it's usually quite different. It can be a nice neighbour who always says a few funny words. It could be your boss, who's a pleasure to work under. Or the restless guy you meet every day on the tram. He seems very insecure and shy. Appearances are often deceiving, because darkness is mostly in our minds, hidden deep down. You are then shocked to discover a cold cellar with dungeons. In it, future victims. Only a human being can cause so much pain and fear to others. The beast.

Brutal death metal, in its traditional and classic form, as played by Italian maniacs SICKENING, is just about all the nasty and ugly things we can do to each other. In this case, the music is once again gnawed to the bone. The band has returned after nine long years to once again bring us another testament to cruelty.


I feel like I'm in a scary horror movie when I listen to the new album "The Death King". I enjoy the massive and raw sound, I admire the motif on the cover. Everything has been done to make the fan happy. Of course you get brutal death metal of the highest quality. The band doesn't push this style anywhere, but that's not the point either. Rather, it relies on a bloody and dark atmosphere. The free inspiration and stylistic belonging to such bands as SUFFOCATION, CANNIBAL CORPSE, DEFEATED SANITY, DEVOURMENT, doesn't matter. On the contrary, I am satisfied. As only an old pathologist can be. Blood spurting everywhere, skulls cracking under sharp instruments, flesh being torn from bones. The Italians have mastered their morbid craft very well, and they've added a little something extra. I like the fact that the band doesn't over-exhibit, as is often the case nowadays. Rather, they concentrate on good riffs, on honest themes that gradually get into your blood. I admit without torture, I have a great weakness for such recordings. I apply them often and I like to come back to them. I die and come back again to give secret testimonies of evil thoughts. I can literally smell the stench of tainted blood, the chill of the dungeons, the chains that bind me to the wall. SICKENING have recorded an album that should not be missing from the collection of any true fan of brutality in metal. Everything fits perfectly in place and I have no choice but to recommend "The Death King" to you. This is a trip to the morbid gallery of death! Everyone imagines the beast as some kind of bloodthirsty monster. With big teeth and sharp claws. But that's not usually the case. Watch out who's standing in the shadows! Traditional, classic brutal death metal that will rip your guts out! The coldness and darkness of the old morgues!

Jak dlouho vydrží člověk, než vykrvácí? Visíš zavěšený na hácích a každou hodinu ti vyříznou kus kůže z těla. Svět není spravedlivý, to vidíme každý den, když nezavíráme před násilím oči. Fascinuje nás krev, sledujeme přímé přenosy z umírání. Někdy se mi chce zvracet, ale nakonec se ovládnu. Stále totiž ještě dokáži očistit svoji mysl a nezbláznit se. V brutálním death metalu si ale hodně vybírám. Musí mě něčím zaujmout, musí mě přikovat na zeď. Nebo pověsit na háky, abyste se měli jednou na co dívat ve zprávách.

MACABRE DEMISE je jednočlenná kapela, pod kterou je podepsán Andreas Rieger. Jedná se klasický, syrový a krutý kov smrti, který vám vyfrézuje do hlavy pořádně krvavou stopu. Budete pomalu přidávat hlasitost, budete se kývat do rytmu, jako staří řezníci, kteří právě vykostili další ze svých obětí. Je to masakr, je to tlak a energie. Je to brutalita, která se vám dostane do hlavy. 


Pokud jste fanoušci třeba takových SKINLESS, SUFFOCATION, DYING FETUS, BROKEN HOPE, INTERNAL BLEEDING, PYREXIA, nebo DEHUMANIZED, budou se vám líbit i MACABRE DEMISE. Skladby v sobě mají potřebný vztek a frustraci. Osobně jsem si dával novou desku do hlavy nejraději v pátek, když jsem šel z práce a potřeboval jsem přepnout svůj mozek do normálního módu. Přišel jsem vždy domů a usmíval jsem se. Tady se totiž hraje opravdově, divoce a od srdce. Líbí se mi určitá živočišnost, lehká progrese i spousta nápadů, které v sobě "Grave​(​y​)​art Gallery" obsahuje. Album se vůbec velmi dobře poslouchá. Je sice kruté a útočí přímo a bez zbytečností, ale zároveň je v rámci stylu pestré a i po několika společně strávených týdnech je stále co objevovat. Určitě jste byli někdy na starých jatkách, na pitevně a nebo jenom ve starém domě. Cítíte tu zatuchlinu? Plíseň a dávné temné vzpomínky? Nevím proč, ale pokaždé, když tuhle desku poslouchám, tak si vzpomenu na klasické hororové filmy. Andreas Rieger sice neobjevuje nic nového, ale řemeslo zvládá na výbornou. Navíc přidává velké množství do tmy zahalených nálad. Nakope vám zadek, vytře s vámi podlahu a vy za to budete ještě vděční. Navíc se myslím povedl zvuk i obal, což jsou velmi důležité věci. Jak dlouho vydržím, než vykrvácím? Visím zavěšený na hácích a každou hodinu mi vyříznou kus kůže z těla. Svět není spravedlivý, to vidíme každý den, když nezavíráme před násilím oči. Fascinuje nás krev, sledujeme přímé přenosy z umírání. Brutální death metalový útok, který vám vyrve všechny vnitřnosti z těla! Masakr!

How long does a person last before they bleed to death? You're hanging from hooks and every hour they cut a piece of skin off your body. The world isn't fair, we see it every day if we don't turn a blind eye to violence. We're fascinated by the blood, we watch live coverage of the dying. Sometimes I want to vomit, but eventually I control myself. Because I can still clear my mind and not go mad. But in brutal death metal, I'm very picky. It's got to grab me, it's got to drive me up the wall. Or hang you on hooks so you'll have something to watch on the news one day.

MACABRE DEMISE is a one-man band signed by Andreas Rieger. This is classic, raw and cruel death metal that will mould a bloody trail into your head. You'll slowly turn up the volume, swaying to the beat like old butchers who have just boned another of their victims. It's carnage, it's pressure and energy. It's brutality that goes to your head.


If you're a fan of SKINLESS, SUFFOCATION, DYING FETUS, BROKEN HOPE, INTERNAL BLEEDING, PYREXIA, or DEHUMANIZED, you'll also like MACABRE DEMISE. The songs have the necessary anger and frustration in them. Personally, my favorite time to put a new record in my head was on Friday when I got off work and needed to switch my brain into normal mode. I always came home and smiled. Because this is where the playing is real, wild and from the heart. I like the certain animalism, the light progression and the many ideas that "Grave(y)art Gallery" contains. The album is very easy to listen to. It is cruel and attacks directly and without gratuitousness, but at the same time it is varied in style and even after several weeks spent together there is still a lot to discover. I'm sure you've been to an old slaughterhouse, an autopsy room or just an old house. Can you smell the mustiness? The mould and the old dark memories? I don't know why, but every time I listen to this record I think of classic horror movies. Andreas Rieger may not be discovering anything new, but he's mastering his craft. Plus, he adds a great deal of darkly shrouded moods. He kicks your ass, wipes the floor with you, and you'll be thankful for it. Plus, I think the sound and cover art are very important things. Ostrý nůž zabodnutý v zádech, lebka rozseknutá sekerou. Pachuť krve a také temnota, která vše objímá jako úchylná milenka. Vstupuji dovnitř a slyším nářek raněných. Pach rozkládajícího se masa. Stojí uprostřed a podivně se usmívá. Vůbec nepřipomíná bestii. Vypadá jako chlápek od vedle, který vás každý den ráno pozdraví. Takový slušný člověk. Dávali ti ho za vzor. Až do teď. Až když si objevil kosti za jeho domem. Hororový film nebo krutá realita? Už sám nevíš. 

Na nové album jsme čekali šest dlouhých let. A vyplatilo se. Jsem fanoušek spíše klasické, tradiční verze brutálního death metalu. A CONDEMNED jej hrají skvěle. Novinka je toho důkazem a potvrzením, že na tyhle řezníky je spolehnutí. Masakr!


Ne, nečekejte žádnou progresi, ani současné pózy, mnohdy umělých kapel. Tady najdete jen opovržení, špínu a hnis. A taky spoustu skvělých riffů, morbidní vokál a bicí, které vám vystřelí mozek z hlavy. Nebývám v tomhle stylu zase tolik častým hostem a opravdu hodně si vybírám. CONDEMNED opět prošli mým sítem. Důvody se samy nabízejí. Pánové hrají sice podle zavedených postupů, ale mě baví jejich krutou práci poslouchat. Může za to zvuk (John Haddad - recording mixing, Zack Ohren - mastering), ale i jako vždy vynikající obal od mistra Toshihiro Egawy. Není to ale jenom jako vždy skvělé řemeslo, ale hlavně atmosféra, pochmurné a temné nálady, které opravdu připomínají návštěvu starých jatek, patologie nebo místa, kde se stal nějaký hnusný násilný čin. Krev stéká na zem a vy dostanete postupně strach. Fantazie mi u téhle desky pracuje naplno, což je pro mě jasným důkazem, že se album opravdu povedlo. Jednou mě možná rozemelou na prach nebo skončím v kafilerii, ale než se tak stane, tak budu podobnou hudbu podporovat. Je totiž opravdu skvělá a letos se opravdu povedla. Jestli rádi a často trápíte svoje sluchovody kapelami typu DISGORGE, DEVOURMENT, PUTRIDITY, PATHOLOGY, DEVANGELIC, INHERIT DISEASE, DISENTOMB, bude se vám určitě líbit i novinka "Daemonium". Myslím, že nemusím už nic dalšího dodávat, nechme raději mluvit tyhle démony. Ostrý nůž zabodnutý v zádech, lebka rozseknutá sekerou. Pachuť krve a také temnota, která vše objímá jako úchylná milenka. Brutální death metalový masakr na tradičních jatkách! Hniloba, špína, smrt!

A sharp knife stuck in the back, a skull hacked open with an axe. The smell of blood and the darkness that embraces everything like a perverted lover. I step inside and hear the cries of the wounded. The smell of decomposing flesh. He stands in the middle and smiles strangely. It looks nothing like a beast. He looks like the guy next door who greets you every morning. Such a decent man. They used to hold him up to you as a role model. Until now. Until you discovered the bones behind his house. Horror movie or harsh reality? You don't know anymore. 

We've been waiting six long years for a new album. And it was worth it. I'm a fan of the more classic, traditional version of brutal death metal. And CONDEMNED play it perfectly. The new album is a proof of that and a confirmation that these butchers can be relied upon. Massacre!


No, don't expect any progression, nor contemporary poses, often of artificial bands. All you'll find here is contempt, filth and pus. And plenty of great riffs, morbid vocals and drums that will blow your brains out. I don't frequent this style that much, and I really pick and choose a lot. CONDEMNED have passed through my net again. The reasons offer themselves. Gentlemen play according to established methods, but I enjoy listening to their harsh work. It's due to the sound (John Haddad - recording mixing, Zack Ohren - mastering), but also as always the excellent cover artwork by master Toshihiro Egawa. But it's not just the great craftsmanship as always, it's the atmosphere, the gloomy and dark moods that really remind one of visiting an old slaughterhouse, a pathology or a place where some nasty act of violence happened. Blood trickles to the ground and you get gradually scared. My imagination is working to the fullest with this album, which is a clear proof for me that the album really succeeded. One day I may be ground to dust or end up in a rendering plant, but until that happens, I'll support music like this. Because it's really great and this year it's been really good. If you like and often bother your ears with bands like DISGORGE, DEVOURMENT, PUTRIDITY, PATHOLOGY, DEVANGELIC, INHERIT DISEASE, DISENTOMB, you will definitely like the new "Daemonium". I don't think I need to add anything more, let's let these demons do the talking instead. A sharp knife stabbed in the back, a skull chopped with an axe. Čeká nás krásný nový svět. Bez nemocí, bez násilí, bez zla a špíny. Narodíme se a zemřeme v nádherném sterilním prostředí. Stroje budou chytřejší než my a budou za nás pracovat. My se budeme zajímat o filozofii a společenské vědy. Zemřeme moudří a čipy, které budeme mít celý život v hlavě, budou recyklovány? Nebo ne? Jak si budoucnost představujete vy? A budou v ní stále hrát SUFFOCATION?

Cesta, kterou tahle smečka z New Yorku ušla je obdivuhodná a vydala by na knihu. Osobně mám jejich hudbu zafixovanou jako takový etalon, na který je vždy spolehnutí. I letos se na jejich nové desce potkává technika s brutalitou a již po několika setkáních si říkám - ano, takhle zní praví SUFFOCATION! 


Zvuk, obal, celkové provedení, všechno je samozřejmě v nejlepším pořádku. Netřeba opisovat promo materiály, podrobné informace si dohledá každý jenom trošku chytřejší fanoušek sám. Soustřeďme se raději na hudbu samotnou. Ta je opět velmi propracovaná, surová a budete u ní mít pocit, že vám chce kapela vystřelit mozek z hlavy. Tentokrát jsem sice musel absolvoval více poslechů, aby mi skladby pronikly do krve, ale to nemění nic na tom, že se novinka opravdu povedla. Frank Mullen je samozřejmě vynikající vokalista a i když byl nahrazen neméně dobrým Ricky Myersem, intenzita zůstala. Ony to mají podobné smečky velmi těžké. Přílišné změny stylu by jim fanoušci neodpustili a tak jsou uzavřeny mezi mantinely, které nemohou překročit. V případě SUFFOCATION to ale vůbec nevadí. Myslím si, že si každý najde to své. Technické kousky, i syrovost, která vždy nejvíce vynikne na koncertech. A to pokaždé stojí za nástroji někdo jiný. Pánové si stále drží vysokou kvalitu. Vy si tak můžete vychutnat album, které si budou s klidem jednou pouštět i vaši potomci. Budoucnost je vždy nejistá a lidé nejsou poslední roky nejchytřejší, ale třeba stačí jenom restart a nová generace lepších čipů. Jedno ale vím jistě. I kdyby to nakonec dopadlo špatně, "Hymns from the Apocrypha" může všude hrát s klidem i po apokalypse. Čeká nás krásný nový svět. Bez nemocí, bez násilí, bez zla a špíny. Narodíme se a zemřeme v nádherném sterilním prostředí. Stroje budou chytřejší než my a budou za nás pracovat. Nebo ne? Technické, brutální harmonie, po kterých zůstává spálená země! Další vynikající zásek v řadě!

A beautiful new world awaits us. Without disease, without violence, without evil and filth. We will be born and die in a beautiful sterile environment. Machines will be smarter than us and will work for us. We will be interested in philosophy and social science. Will we die wise and the chips we've had in our heads all our lives will be recycled? Or will they? How do you imagine the future? And will SUFFOCATION still play in it?

The journey this pack from New York has taken is admirable and would make a book. Personally, I have their music fixed as a kind of standard that can always be relied on. Also this year on their new album technique meets brutality and after a few meetings I think - yes, this is what SUFFOCATION sounds like!


The sound, the packaging, the overall execution, everything is of course in the best order. There is no need to copy promo materials, detailed information can be found by any fan who is just a little bit smarter. Let's concentrate on the music itself. It is again very elaborate, raw and will make you feel that the band wants to blow your brains out. This time, I had to go through more listens to get the songs into my blood, but that doesn't change the fact that the novelty really hit the spot. Frank Mullen is of course an excellent vocalist and although he has been replaced by the equally good Ricky Myers, the intensity remains. They have a very hard time with packs like this. Too many changes in style would not be forgiven by their fans and so they are locked between boundaries they cannot cross. But in the case of SUFFOCATION, it doesn't matter at all. I think everyone will find their own thing. Technical bits, and the rawness that always stands out the most at concerts. And it's always someone else behind the instruments. The gentlemen still maintain a high quality. So you can enjoy an album that your descendants will also enjoy one day. The future is always uncertain and people have not been the smartest in recent years, but maybe all it takes is a reboot and a new generation of better chips. I know one thing for sure. Even if it ends up going badly, "Hymns from the Apocrypha" can play everywhere with peace of mind even after the apocalypse. A beautiful new world awaits us. No disease, no violence, no evil, no filth. We will be born and die in a beautiful sterile environment. Machines will be smarter than us and will work for us. Won't they? Technical, brutal harmonies that leave a scorched earth! Another excellent hit in the series!

V šoku bylo celé město. Hodný soused, otec od rodiny, vždycky se usmíval. Každého zdravil a všichni ho měli rádi. Měl jenom takové zvláštní hobby. Unášel lidi a mučil je ve svém sklepě. Dlouhé roky se ztrácely mladé dívky. Chodil do kostela a pokaždé dostal rozhřešení. Stačilo několik modliteb a kněz se usmíval. Mrtvá těla, zakopaná na zahradě, nekonečná bolest a utrpení. Na tenhle šílený příběh jsem si vzpomněl, když jsem začal poslouchat novou desku italských brutalistů DEAD TWILIGHT.

Novinka je opět nekompromisním masakrem v tradičním, klasickém stylu. Musím ze skladeb cítit tlak a energii, musí mě přikovat na zeď. Italové tohle všechno umí a dělají to s morbidní elegancí. Kývám se do rytmu a brousím ostrý nůž. Tohle je kus syrového masa, které vám hodí kapela rovnou do obličeje. 


"Fall of Humanity" je albem, které se odehrává v rychlých tempech. V určitých momentech je novinka lehce monotónní, ale to patří k tomuto stylu jako k mrtvému rakev. Jedná se samozřejmě o underground, o exhumace starých hrobů. Jsou v nich uložena těla nešťastníků, kteří byli za svého života mučeni. Také slyšíte jejich nářek? Z riffů odkapává zkažená krev. DEAD TWILIGHT na to jdou postaru, nevymýšlejí nic nového, ani objevného. Drží se svého řeznického řemesla, které zvládají velmi dobře. Novinka není nic pro slabé povahy. Ale o tom brutální death metal nikdy nebyl. Znáte to, na pitevnách také nevydrží pracovat každý. Italové porcují maso nahrubo, bez slitování. Mám pocit, že jsem na návštěvě v hlubokém sklepě, o kterém píšu v úvodu. Do stěn je otištěn nářek obětí a éterem zní nahlas nové album. Celková atmosféra je potom doplněna o hnilobu a smrad, které se vznáší všude kolem. Stále bývám v šoku, čeho jsou někteří lidé schopni. Bolest, strach a nenávist. Zlo v krvavých očích. Přetvářka a lži. Každý v sobě máme kus temnoty, záleží jen na nás, jestli ji necháme vyplout na povrch. Řezníci i patologové vědí své. Poslouchají "Fall of Humanity" a usmívají se. Skalpely i nože jsou připraveny. Stačí zapnout play a svět bude zahalen do krvavé mlhy. Dívám se do tmy a pohupuji se do rytmu. Ano, tohle album vám mohu doporučit. Je po okraj narvané hnisem, špínou i temnou energií. Brutální death metal špinavý jako ruka mrtvoly! Masakr motorovou pilou!

The whole town was in shock. A nice neighbor, a family man, always smiling. He greeted everyone and everyone loved him. He just had this weird hobby. He kidnapped people and tortured them in his basement. For years, young girls went missing. He went to church and got absolution every time. A few prayers and the priest would smile. Dead bodies buried in the garden, endless pain and suffering. I remembered this crazy story when I started listening to the new album of Italian brutalists DEAD TWILIGHT.

The new album is again an uncompromising massacre in the traditional, classic style. I have to feel the pressure and energy from the songs, they have to nail me to the wall. Italians can do all this and they do it with morbid elegance. I'm swaying to the beat and sharpening the knife. This is a piece of raw meat thrown right in your face by the band.


"Fall of Humanity" is a fast paced album. At certain points the novelty is slightly monotonous, but that belongs to this style like a dead coffin. This is, of course, the underground, the exhumation of old graves. They contain the bodies of the unfortunate who were tortured during their lifetime. Do you hear their cries too? The riffs drip with corrupted blood. DEAD TWILIGHT go about it the old-fashioned way, they don't invent anything new or revelatory. They stick to their butchery craft, which they do very well. Novelty is not for the weak of character. But that's what brutal death metal has never been about. You know, not everyone can work in the autopsy room. The Italians butcher meat roughly, without mercy. I feel like I'm visiting the deep cellar I wrote about in the introduction. The wailing of the victims is printed on the walls and a new album is playing loudly through the ether. The overall atmosphere is then complemented by the rot and stench that hovers all around. I'm still shocked at what some people are capable of. Pain, fear and hatred. Evil in bloody eyes. The hypocrisy and the lies. We all have a piece of darkness inside us, it's up to us to let it surface. Butchers and pathologists know their stuff. They listen to "Fall of Humanity" and smile. Scalpels and knives at the ready. All we have to do is turn on the play and the world will be shrouded in a bloody fog. I stare into the darkness and sway to the beat. Yes, I can recommend this album to you. It's filled to the brim with pus, filth and dark energy. Brutal death metal as dirty as a dead man's hand! A chainsaw massacre!

Určitě znáte takové ty krásné záběry, u kterých je klidné městečko během několika minut zničeno nějakou živelnou pohromou. Tsunami, vichřice, povodně, požár nebo rozzuřený dav, je to vlastně jedno. Měl bych pro vás dnes další zcela zničující záležitost. Masakrující brutální a technický death metal v podání kanadské legendy CRYPTOPSY. Kapely, která je opět zcela zničující, devastující a šílená.

Pánové šli vždy za hranu, s chutí překračovali hranice. Pokud vám něco říkají termíny jako trepanace lebky nebo vyvrhnutí vnitřností zaživa, asi víte, o čem píšu. Stačilo několik prvních tónů a hned jsem věděl, že tihle maniaci jsou stále ve skvělé formě. Posledním veteránem v kapele je Flo Mounier, který opět dokazuje, že má v rukou a nohou dynamit. 


Veškerá práce téhle smečky je vždy extrém. Vše probíhá ve stylu kapel jako SUFFOCATION, DEEDS OF FLESH, BROKEN HOPE, IMMOLATION, MORBID ANGEL, GORGUTS, ORIGIN, a spousty dalších. I když v tomto případě je jakékoliv přirovnání trošku troufalé. Kanaďané totiž patří k těm, kteří tento styl zakládali a byli u jeho počátků. Všechny songy jsou velmi heavy, měl jsem při každém setkání neodbytný pocit, že na mě padá lavina z kostí, kamení a zkažené krve. Zvuk (Christian Donaldson - producer, mixing, mastering), obal (Paolo Girardi) i další "formální" věci jsou samozřejmě v nejlepším pořádku. Je sice fakt, že bych si dovedl představit trošku živelnější a špinavější produkci, ale to je jen drobnost. Zkrátka a jednoduše, pokud máte tenhle styl rádi, neváhejte ani chvilku. Budete nadšeni! Osobně si pokaždé připadám, že padám do obrovského mlýnu na maso, který mě rozseká na malé kousky, pak rozdrtí a spálí na popel. CRYPTOPSY odvedli letos vynikající morbidní práci. Nepřinášejí sice nic nového, ani převratného, ale album rozhodně není jen dobrým řemeslem z povinnosti. Naopak, songy jsou velmi živé, bolestivé. Nahrávka mě chytla za vlasy a vytřela si se mnou podlahu. Utopila mě ve špinavé kaluži z krve a nenávisti. Líbí se mi energie, vztek, nakumulovaná nenávist, které jsou obsaženy ve velké míře. Myslím si, že je vlastně zbytečné cokoliv dalšího dodávat, lepší bude, když si novinku poslechnete a to pořádně nahlas. Jen si dávejte pozor, aby vám neurvala hlavu i s páteří. Brutální, technická death metalová pohroma, po které zůstává jenom spálená země!

I'm sure you know those beautiful shots where a peaceful town is destroyed by a natural disaster in a matter of minutes. Tsunami, storm, flood, fire or angry mob, it doesn't really matter. I have another completely devastating issue for you today. Massacring brutal and technical death metal by Canadian legend CRYPTOPSY. A band that is once again completely devastating, damaging and insane.

The gentlemen have always gone over the edge, crossing boundaries with gusto. If terms like skull trepanning or evisceration alive mean anything to you, you probably know what I'm writing about. The first few notes were enough and I knew right away that these maniacs were still in great shape. The last veteran in the band is Flo Mounier, who once again proves he has dynamite in his hands and feet.


All this pack's work is always extreme. Everything is in the style of bands like SUFFOCATION, DEEDS OF FLESH, BROKEN HOPE, IMMOLATION, MORBID ANGEL, GORGUTS, ORIGIN, and many more. Although in this case any comparison is a bit presumptuous. The Canadians are one of the founding fathers of this style and were at its beginnings. All the songs are very heavy, I had an insistent feeling of an avalanche of bones, stones and bad blood falling on me every time I met them. The sound (Christian Donaldson - producer, mixing, mastering), cover (Paolo Girardi) and other "formal" things are of course in the best order. It's true that I could imagine a bit more lively and dirty production, but that's just a small thing. In short, if you like this style, don't hesitate a moment. You will be delighted! Personally, I always feel like I'm falling into a giant meat grinder that will chop me into small pieces, then crush me and burn me to ashes. CRYPTOPSY did an excellent morbid job this year. They don't bring anything new or groundbreaking, but the album is definitely not just good craftsmanship out of duty. On the contrary, the songs are very vivid, painful. The record grabbed me by the hair and wiped the floor with me. It drowned me in a dirty pool of blood and hate. I like the energy, the anger, the accumulated hatred that is contained in great measure. Actually, I think it's unnecessary to add anything else, it's better if you listen to the news, and listen it out loud. Just be careful that it doesn't blow your head and spine off. A brutal, technical death metal disaster that leaves nothing but scorched earth!

Jsou dny, kdy vůbec nevycházím ven. Za každým rohem totiž číhá zlo. Stačí si přečíst zprávy. Dav rabující v ulicích. Stávka řezníků a shnilé maso, povalující se všude kolem. Hnus a špína, nenávist a temnota. Takovou hudbu si dám do hlavy vždycky rád. Narvu si ji do uší. Kývám se do rytmu, beru do rukou kladivo a konečně můžu ven. Mezi rozzuřené bestie. Nasadím sluchátka a v nich mi hraje nové album legendárních DYING FETUS.

Už jsem to psal mnohokrát. Tahle smečka mě bavila na konci devadesátých let minulého století. Pak jsem ji přestal na dlouhou dobu sledovat. S minulou nahrávkou "Wrong One to Fuck With" (2017) (odkaz na recenzi je dole pod článkem) mám ale znovu pocit, že mi jejich hudba koluje v žilách. Pánové se i letos vrátili a jsou silnější než kdy dřív. 


Baví mě hlavně živý a organický zvuk (Steve Wright - producer, recording, Mark Lewis - mixing, mastering). Mám pocit, že se kapela svým způsobem vrátila k tomu, co dělala vždy nejlépe. Poctivou řezničinu, kombinovanou s brutálním death metalem a grindem. Letos se povedl i obal (Daniel McBride), který jen potvrzuje má slova o tom, že se jedná o návrat do starých dobrých časů. Ze skladeb slyším takovou tu ryzí, poctivou práci. Pánové z Baltimore už asi nepřijdou s ničím novým. To je ale přece v nejlepším pořádku. Proč měnit něco, co funguje? Koneckonců, všem fanouškům jde hlavně o to, skočit do mosh-pitu a vyčistit si hlavu od současného divného světa. Chtěl jsem být původně trošku víc kritický, ale nejde to - album mě prostě baví a hotovo. To je bez debat. "Make Them Beg for Death" je určeno pro všechny, kteří mají rádi tlak a energii. Nakumulovaný vztek a nenávist, vypálené do songů. Znáte to, kdyby víc lidí poslouchalo DYING FETUS, bylo by nám všem krásně. Nechali by veškerou frustraci dole pod pódiem. U téhle desky budete mlátit hlavou do stolu, boxovat do vzduchu a pokud bude poblíž nějaké zeď, tak ji zbouráte. Podepisuji vám vlastní krví, že tohle je pořádná jízda. Někdo musel poslední roky polít kapelu mrtvou vodou, jinak si to nedovedu vysvětlit. Jsou dny, kdy vůbec nevycházím ven. Za každým rohem totiž číhá zlo. Stačí si přečíst zprávy. Dav rabující v ulicích. Stávka řezníků a shnilé maso, povalující se všude kolem. Hnus a špína, nenávist a temnota. Totální, absolutní brutal death metal grindová destrukce lidské mysli!

There are days when I don't go out at all. There's evil lurking around every corner. Just read the news. A mob looting in the streets. Butchers on strike and rotten meat lying around. Filth and filth, hatred and darkness. That's the kind of music I always like to put in my head. I put it in my ears. I sway to the rhythm, pick up the hammer and finally I can get out. Among the angry beasts. I put on my headphones and the new album from the legendary DYING FETUS plays.

I've written this many times before. I was into this bunch in the late '90s. Then I stopped following them for a long time. But with the last release "Wrong One to Fuck With" (2017) (link to the review is at the bottom of the article), I have the feeling of their music running through my veins again. The gentlemen are back again this year and they are stronger than ever.


I enjoy especially the live and organic sound (Steve Wright - producer, recording, Mark Lewis - mixing, mastering). I feel that the band has, in a way, returned to what they have always done best. Honest butchery, combined with brutal death metal and grind. This year the cover artwork (Daniel McBride) was also great, which only confirms my words about this being a return to the good old days. I can hear such pure, honest work from the songs. I guess the gentlemen from Baltimore won't come up with anything new. That's all right, though. Why change something that works? After all, all fans want to do is jump into the mosh pit and clear their heads of the weird world we live in now. I originally wanted to be a bit more critical, but I can't - I just enjoy the album and that's that. No question about it. "Make Them Beg for Death" is for everyone who likes pressure and energy. Accumulated anger and hatred, burnt into songs. You know, if more people listened to DYING FETUS, we'd all be fine. They'd leave all their frustration under the stage. With this record, you'll bang your head on the table, box in the air, and if there's a wall nearby, you'll knock it down. I'll sign in my own blood that this is a hell of a ride. Someone must have been throwing dead water on the band for the last few years, otherwise I can't explain it. There are days when I don't go out at all. There's evil lurking around every corner. Otřel čepel nože. Byla od krve. Od lidské krve. Rozhlédl se kolem sebe a usmál se. Dnes odvedl dobrou práci. Tenhle invazní druh, který škodí planetě, je nutné zničit. Už to nešlo dál. Příliš mnoho zla, příliš mnoho temnoty. Vypadal přesně tak, jak si jej všichni představovali. Měl děsivou tvář, jako někteří staří bohové. Byl nemilosrdný a krutý. Vetřelec z vesmíru, který si ke své krvavé práci pouštěl jenom dobrý brutální death metal. Dnes zvolil novinku od maniaků ATOLL z USA.

Omlouvám se, ale s tvorbou kapely se setkávám poprvé. A jsem velmi mile překvapený. Jedná se o přesně takový ten druh brutality v hudbě, která vám vystřelí mozek z hlavy. Velmi dobře zahrané, s masivním, hutným a zabijáckým zvukem. Žádné kompromisy, žádné zbytečnosti. Jenom smrt, bolest a utrpení. Doporučují všichni vetřelci!


Mám pocit, že na mě padá lavina z kostí a lebek. Skladby jsou napsány velmi přesvědčivě, zajímavě. Troufám si tvrdit, že naživo to musí být totální šílenství! Klasické, tradiční postupy, ale zahrané tak, že je mě baví poslouchat. Nic pro slabé povahy, tady se odehrává reálná pitva ještě živých těl. ATOLL vám vyrvou vnitřnosti z těla! Líbí se mi i určitá nadsázka, kterou z hudby cítím. Mimochodem, podívejte se na youtube na klipy, stojí rozhodně za to. Ono vůbec, grafika alba je vynikající, stejně jako produkce. Kapela opravdu působí, jako by nebyla z tohoto světa. Pokaždé, když "Human Extract" poslouchám, tak před sebou vidím děsivé, morbidní obrazy. Odehrává se přede mnou hnusný, krvavý film, který se mi ihned dostane pod kůži. Stejně jako tahle deska, která vás nenechá chvilku v klidu. Je to nakumulovaný vztek, energie, obrovský tlak. Novinka má navíc takovou zvláštní, podmanivou atmosféru, známou ze starých jatek nebo piteven. Mocný vokál, riffy ostré jako skalpely, devastující bicí, no řekněte, co víc si přát? Myslím si, že každý fanoušek tohoto stylu musí být spokojen. Je pro mě velmi příjemné se kývat do rytmu. Se sekyrou v ruce. Album je, v rámci žánru, opravdu pestré. Pořád se něco děje, songy tepou jako srdce někoho, kdo zažil velký šok. Dívám se do tmy a tuhne mi krev v žilách. Vztek, touha zbourat další překážku. Přesně takhle se cítím, když novinku poslouchám stále dokola. Otřel čepel nože. Byla od krve. Od lidské krve. Rozhlédl se kolem sebe a usmál se. Dnes odvedl dobrou práci. Žádné kompromisy, žádné zbytečnosti. Jenom smrt, bolest a utrpení. Brutální death metalový útok!

He wiped the blade of the knife. It was covered in blood. Human blood. He looked around and smiled. He'd done a good job today. This planet-damaging invasive species must be destroyed. It couldn't go any further. Too much evil, too much darkness. He looked exactly as everyone imagined him. He had a terrifying face, like some of the old gods. He was ruthless and cruel. An alien from outer space who only played good, brutal death metal to do his bloody work. Today, he chose the new stuff from the maniacs ATOLL from the USA.

I apologize, but this is the first time I've encountered the band's work. And I am very pleasantly surprised. This is exactly the kind of brutality in music that will blow your brains out. Very well played, with a massive, dense and killer sound. No compromises, no uselessness. Just death, pain and suffering. Recommended by all intruders!


I feel like an avalanche of bones and skulls is falling on me. The songs are written very convincingly, interestingly. I dare say that live it must be total madness! Classic, traditional methods, but played in a way that I enjoy listening to. Nothing for the faint hearted, this is a real autopsy of still living bodies. ATOLL will rip the guts out of your body! I also like a certain exaggeration I feel from the music. By the way, check out the clips on youtube, they are definitely worth it. Anyway, the album art is excellent, as is the production. The band really seems out of this world. Every time I listen to "Human Extract" I see eerie, morbid images in front of me. There's a nasty, gory movie playing out in front of me that immediately gets under my skin. Just like this record, which won't leave you in peace for a while. It's accumulated anger, energy, tremendous pressure. Moreover, the novelty has a strange, captivating atmosphere, familiar from old slaughterhouses or abattoirs. Powerful vocals, scalpel-sharp riffs, devastating drums, you name it, what more could you ask for? I think every fan of this style must be satisfied. I find it very enjoyable to sway to the beat. With an axe in my hand. The album is, within the genre, really varied. There's always something going on, the songs beat like the heart of someone who's had a big shock. I look into the darkness and my blood runs cold. The rage, the desire to tear down the next obstacle. That's how I feel when I listen to a new song over and over again. He wiped the blade of the knife. It was covered in blood. Human blood. He looked around and smiled. He did a good job today. No compromises, no waste. Just death, pain and suffering. A brutal death metal attack!

Každý den jsme konfrontováni s takovým množstvím násilí, že jsme už dávno otupěli. Parta chlapů, která kope do ležící oběti, znásilnění, válka, smrt, zabití. Sledujeme s napětím seriály o sériových vrazích, fascinují nás vůdci, kteří nechali zničit celé národy. Někde uvnitř nás je stále zvířecí temnota, vztek a nenávist. Dejte lidem absolutní moc a roztrhají vás na kusy. Nemám recept na zlepšení, neumím dát zasvěcenou radu. Jedno ale vím moc dobře. Pokud poslouchám dobrou muziku, vyčistím si u ní mozek od zlých myšlenek, od současné nadprodukce zbytečných informací.

Německé ORPHALIS jsem poprvé viděl až na koncertě, který proběhl v rámci festivalu Transcending Obscurity v Praze. Ještě ten den v noci jsem si doma o nich dohledal informace. A zjistil jsem, že kapela hraje již od roku 2010 a má na svém kontě tři dlouhohrající alba. Letos přicházejí se čtvrtým, které mi přišlo již před několika měsíci na recenzi. Na obrazovce zrovna někoho stahovali z kůže. Vypnul jsem internet a pustil si "As The Ashes Settle". Moje myšlenky začaly ihned létat v časoprostoru a já si tenhle technický, progresivní brutální death metal začal neskutečně užívat. Vyrve vám totiž všechny vnitřnosti z těla. 

Je to tak, svět není černobílý a občas mám pocit, že začíná díky médiím a sociálním sítím převažovat to zlé a ošklivé. Vážím si potom každé chvíle, kdy mohu poslouchat podobné desky, jako je ta od ORPHALIS. Víte, jsem starý pes, který se převážně pohybuje v trošku jiných vodách. V technickém death metalu si hodně vybírám a musím říct, že tohle album mě ihned rovnou uhranulo. Přpadal jsem si jako vetřelec z vesmíru, který se po dlouhých letech přiletěl podívat na Zemi. Jak jste ji mohli takhle zničit? V přehrávači mám "As The Ashes Settle", u kterého oceňuji absolutně zničující zvuk, majestátní obal (Adam Burke). Hlavní je pro mě samozřejmě hudba, která kolem mě nejdříve létala jako morbidní představy, pak se dostala do mé mysli a vystřelila mi mozek z hlavy. Pánové se pohybují ve stejných oblastech, jako kapely typu PSYCROPTIC, BENIGHTED, ABORTED, SUFFOCATION, CRYPTOPSY, NECROPHAGIST, SPAWN OF POSSESSION. Jedná se o takový ten druh velmi propracovaného, inteligentně složeného smrtícího kovu, který vám způsobí nejdřív zástavu srdce a teprve až po nějakém čase oceníte jednotlivé pasáže a nuance. Němci jsou techničtí, ale zároveň nezapomínají na to, že základem je vždy dobrá skladba. Songy hoří jasným plamenem, jsou opravdu spalující, šílené, divoké a devastující, jako celý dnešní svět. Zároveň, a to je pro mě velmi důležité, mě hrozně baví je poslouchat. ORPHALIS nám pomocí své hudby nastavují zrcadlo. A dělají to velmi surově, nekompromisně a zároveň elegantně. Mocný, masivní technický brutální death metal, který se dostane do vaší mysli! Masakr!

Every day we are confronted with so much violence that we have long since become numb. A bunch of guys kicking a lying victim, rape, war, death, killing. We watch with suspense serial killers, we are fascinated by leaders who have had entire nations destroyed. Somewhere inside us there is still animal darkness, rage and hatred. Give people absolute power and they will tear you apart. I don't have a recipe for improvement, I can't give insider advice. But one thing I know very well. If I listen to good music, it clears my brain of bad thoughts, of the current overproduction of useless information.

I saw German ORPHALIS for the first time at a concert during the Transcending Obscurity festival in Prague. That same night at home I looked up information about them. And I found out that the band has been playing since 2010 and has three full-length albums to their credit. This year they are coming up with a fourth one, which I received a few months ago for review. They were just skinning someone on the screen. I turned off the internet and put on "As The Ashes Settle". My thoughts immediately started flying through space-time and I began to enjoy this technical, progressive brutal death metal beyond belief. It will rip your guts out of your body.


It's true, the world is not black and white and sometimes I feel like the bad and ugly is starting to prevail thanks to the media and social media. I cherish every moment when I can listen to records like ORPHALIS. You know, I'm an old dog who mostly walks in slightly different waters. I have a lot of choice in technical death metal and I have to say that this album immediately had me hooked. I felt like an alien from outer space who came to see the Earth after many years. How could you destroy it like that? I have "As The Ashes Settle" in my player and I appreciate the absolutely devastating sound, the majestic cover art (Adam Burke). The main thing for me, of course, is the music, which at first flew around me like morbid fantasies, then got into my mind and blew my brains out. The gentlemen are in the same areas as bands like PSYCROPTIC, BENIGHTED, ABORTED, SUFFOCATION, CRYPTOPSY, NECROPHAGIST, SPAWN OF POSSESSION. This is the kind of highly sophisticated, intelligently composed death metal that will first cause you to have a cardiac arrest and only after some time will you appreciate the individual passages and nuances. The Germans are technical, but at the same time they don't forget that the essence is always good composition. The songs burn with a bright flame, they are really scorching, crazy, wild and devastating, like the whole world today. At the same time, and this is very important for me, I enjoy listening to them.
