Bomby v záhrobí, plameny v márnici. Lebky pukají, zbytky shnilého masa se škvaří ve vlastní šťávě. Naslouchej bedlivě, řekla mi stará dáma s kosou. Zahalená v kápi mě probudila uprostřed noci. Její kostnatá ruka se mi zasekla do tváře. Z úst jí lezly tisíce červů. Neskutečný pach hniloby. Tenká je hranice mezi naším a oním světem. Pro někoho bývá přechod na druhou stranu krutý a bolestivý. Já jsem připraven. Poslouchám totiž novou desku FETID ZOMBIE.

Mark Riddick patří již dlouhá léta k jednomu z mých nejoblíbenějších malířů a grafiků (rozhovor dole pod článkem). Jeho umělecký talent je obdivuhodný. Není to ale jenom mistr ve svém oboru. Je to také člověk, který je undergroundu oddaný celým srdcem. Že má co říci i jako muzikant, opět dokazuje na letošním albu "Transmutations". Smrt má nové jméno!

Stejně jako minule se Mark obklopil skvělými muzikanty. Podobné projekty bývají často roztříštěné, ale v tomto případě to není rozhodně pravda. Každý vokalista i kytarista sice má svůj jasný rukopis, ale vše je spojeno v jeden kompaktní celek. Songy zní skvěle. Mají potřebnou atmosféru starých hororových filmů. Hudebně se potom jedná o hrubozrnný, syrový death metal staré školy s odbočkami do ostatních stylů. Touláme se spolu s autorem v nekonečných bažinách, nasáváme pach rozkládajících se těl. Krvavá mlha, vyděšené tváře utopenců, doomový odér. FETID ZOMBIE dokáží být suroví, syroví a jsou postaveni na pevných základech. Kolem riffů se jako pára vznáší temné zrůdné obrazy. Stejně jako ve slavné povídce Franze Kafky procházíme proměnou. Ledový motiv, který prořízne jedovatě tmu, se mi pokaždé zařízne hluboko pod kůži. "Transmutations" není jen obyčejnou deskou, ale spíše obřadem, průvodcem v zemi stínů. Připravte si minci pro převozníka přes řeku Styx. Nebo můžete jako já zaplatit vlastní duší. O zvuku ani obalu netřeba diskutovat, vše je samozřejmě v nejlepším pořádku. Pro mě je ale hlavní, jaké jsou mi předány hudbou emoce. Mark Riddick a jeho smečka mě opět uchvátili do svých představ a melodií. Jsou ošklivé, chladné a temné. Vítejte v morbidní galerii smrti!

Mark Riddick has been one of my favorite painters and graphic artists for many years (interview below the article). His artistic talent is admirable. But he is not just a master in his field. He is also a man who is devoted to the underground with all his heart. That he has something to say as a musician, he proves again on this year's album "Transmutations". Death has a new name!

As before, Mark was surrounded by great musicians. Similar projects are often fragmented, but in this case, this is definitely not true. Each vocalist and guitarist has their clear handwriting, but everything is combined into one compact unit. Songy sounds great. They have the necessary atmosphere of old horror movies. Musically, it is then coarse-grained, raw old-school death metal with diversions to other styles. We wander together with the author in endless swamps, we absorb the smell of decaying bodies. Bloody fog, frightened faces of drowned people, doom abrasion. FETID ZOMBIE can be raw, raw and built on solid foundations. Dark monstrous images float around the riffs like steam. As in Franz Kafka's famous short story, we are going through a transformation. The ice motif, which cuts through the poisonous darkness, always cuts deep under my skin. "Transmutations" is not just an ordinary record, but rather a ceremony, a guide in the land of shadows. Prepare a coin for the ferryman across the Styx River. Or you can, like me, pay with your own soul. There is no need to discuss the sound or the cover, of course, everything is in the best order. But for me, the main thing is what emotions are conveyed to me by music. Mark Riddick and his pack captivated me again with their ideas and melodies. They are ugly, cold and dark. Welcome to the morbid gallery of death!
