A few questions - interview with death metal band from United Kingdom - KEELHAULING.

Interview answered by Lander, guitar player.

Ave, can you introduce your band to our readers? – When was it founded and what style of music do you play etc.?

Hi there, we are Keelhauling, a Brutal death metal band founded in London in 2017 by members of Decrepid( Old School Death metal from London) and Brazilian Death metal band The Sceptic, initially the idea started between Cris ( main Vocalist) and me, we work together so we talk about metal most of the time and one of this times we had the idea to make this project inviting Decrepid drummer Tom and The Sceptic bass player Jeff.

Where and under what conditions were you recording the new album? Who was in charge of sound, production and mastering?

We decided to make this EP without spending lots of money and tying to get the best quality we could, so we recorded drums in the same studio we practice with Tom’s brother who is Sound engineer, all of us were responsible for the production just mix and mastering was in charge of a Brazilian friend called Ernani Savaris.

How many copies were released and which medium was used for this new edition (CD, digital, vinyl, cassette)?

We printed 100 CD copies and digital media as Spotify, Apple Pay, SoundCloud and bandcamp.

Who is the author of the lyrics and how were they created and about what do the lyrics deal with?

We basically shared the lyrics composition, each one brought ideas and we tried to put in the songs, we talk about torture and death, the extreme violence that humans are executing and also being submitted along the existence and history, how cruel and inhuman can people be even though technological and scientific advance we are the same brutal animal we were thousands of years ago.

Who created the logo of the band, and who took care of the graphics and the website? What about you and social networks? Do you consider these things important?

Our logo was created by a Brazilian friend called Carlos (Cernunnos Legion) and we payed a third party company to post our music on the digital platforms, they’re available on Bandcamp, YouTube, ITunes, Spotify, SoundCloud...and we have a Facebook page in which we keep in touch with friends and supporters.

I consider social networks important for bands at this point, cause it’s a first opportunity to show your band for those who don’t know yet new bands like us.

Which label did you choose for releasing your album and why this label? Are you satisfied by how your label represents you and takés care about you?

We opted to release this first EP independent and then when we release a full length we can look for and receive offers from label records.

Which bands do you idolise and where do you get your inspiration?

We have a big range of bands that influenced us for this project, from old school Death metal bands to extreme Death and black metal bands, so it’s hard to say only a few bands we idolise, we like American school like Morbid Angel, Nile, Hate Eternal, Angel Corpse and Deeds of Flesh but as well we like Swedish school like Dismember and Entombed, Some grind core bands make part of it as well.

Did you send your record to some Labels - which are the labels? How was the response?

We sent our EP to some labels and we didn’t receive response yet about that.

How many gigs have you played? Which type of gigs do you prefer, whether it's (clubs or festivals) and which of your performances would you consider as the best?

We’ll have our first gig on the 5th of October in an important metal venue in London, we’ll be supporting two important bands from different styles Pungent Stench and Extreme Noise terror, will be a honour for us to share our first concert with them, I think any gig is important to show your sound to people who are interested to listen to.

What about your plans for the future? What do you want to achieve with the band?

Our next step is to release a full length with the best quality we could and if possible in the next year, so we can go to another level like touring, profissionalizing and find a good record label.

How and where can your fans contact you? Can you provide some contact information?

Our friends and fans can contact us by our Facebook page,

https://www.facebook.com/keelhauling666/ and check our songs in almost all digital platforms I mentioned before.

Thanx for the interview.

Thanks for this oportunity to show our project.
