Už dlouho tě něco drásalo zevnitř. Budil ses uprostřed noci, zničený a vyděšený. Přemýšlel si o smrti, ukrýval ses ve stínu. Říkali o tobě, že jsi prokletý. Zůstal si sám, tolik sám. Nakonec si našel klid v jedné staré kobce, s nápisem ANTROPOMORPHIA nad vchodem, ve které ležela těla dávno prokletých. Byla tam také brána do podsvětí, stačilo jenom znát zvrácenou modlitbu pro vstup. Šeptal si jedovatá slova, konečně tě dohnalo tvé vlastní svědomí. Bylo na čase vstoupit dovnitř a také si znovu přehrát letošní nahrávku.
Novinka je totiž plná studených stínů zabalených do pevných pavučin. Smrdí sírou i zkaženým masem. Holandská smečka byla vždy zárukou kvality, stačí se podrobně podívat na jejich diskografii, jejichž historie sahá až do roku 1990. Letos kapela působí jako politá mrtvou vodou. Jsou silnější než kdy dřív, stačí jenom přidat hlasitost na samou hranu bolesti.
Poslouchat nové album "Devoid Of Light" je opravdu zážitek srovnatelný s návštěvou starého pohřebiště. Čtete si jména na náhrobcích, přemýšlíte, jaký asi měli mrtví život, jakou zažili smrt. Nad hřbitovem se válí krvavá mlha a z márnice je slyšet nářek prokletých. Tohle je přesně poctivá, reálná a autentická odrůda death metal, ušpiněného mrazivým black metalem, která se hraje při záhrobních rituálech. Kapela má svůj jasný rukopis, originální výraz. Skladby jsou napsány velmi podmanivě, uvěřitelně. Jako bych stál po kolena ve špinavé stoce pod kostelem, který byl nedávno znesvěcený. Rituál je připraven, na oltáři leží vyděšená oběť a kněz drží v ruce ostrý nůž. Krvavé symboly žhnou do tmy a plameny hoří jasným černým plamenem. Pokud máte rádi kapely typu ACHERON, GOD DETHRONED, BOLT THROWER, NECROPHOBIC, CELTIC FROST, GOREFEST, BEHEMOTH, mohlo by vám být dobře i ve společnosti těchto maniaků. Nová nahrávka má totiž nejen skvělý masivní a chladný zvuk, ale také obal, který ledacos napovídá. Zkrátka a dobře, Holanďané jsou ve velmi dobré formě a opět nám dodali velmi kvalitní materiál, ukovaný z těch nejlepších pekelných slitin. Svět je při poslechu velmi pochmurné místo a černé mraky se dotýkají země. Album vám doporučují nemrtví i všichni prokletí. Už dlouho mě něco drásalo zevnitř. Something's been tugging at your insides for a long time. Waking up in the middle of the night, devastated and scared. Thinking about death, hiding in the shadows. They said you were cursed. Listening to the new album "Devoid Of Light" is really an experience comparable to visiting an old burial ground. You read the names on the tombstones, you wonder what kind of life the dead had, what kind of death they experienced. A bloody mist rolls over the cemetery and from the morgue you can hear the cries of the damned. This is exactly the honest, real, and authentic variety of death metal, stained with the chilling black metal played during grave rituals. The band has a clear signature, an original expression. The songs are written in a very captivating, believable way. It's like standing knee-deep in a dirty sewer under a church that has recently been desecrated. The ritual is ready, a terrified victim is lying on the altar and the priest is holding a sharp knife. The bloody symbols glow in the dark and the flames burn bright black. If you like bands like ACHERON, GOD DETHRONED, BOLT THROWER, NECROPHOBIC, CELTIC FROST, GOREFEST, BEHEMOTH, you might be comfortable in the company of these maniacs. The new record has not only a great massive and cool sound, but also a cover that says a lot. In short, the Dutch are in very good shape and once again they have delivered us very high quality material, forged from the best hell alloys. The world is a very gloomy place when you listen to it and black clouds touch the ground. The album is recommended by the undead and all the damned.
