Mraky jsou zase jednou nízko, skoro se dotýkají země. Mají barvu zkažené krve. Zvedá se vítr, bouřka přijde každou chvíli. Cítím v kostech napětí. Stojím uprostřed starého pohřebiště v horách, na kterém byly dlouhé roky pohřbíváni prokletí. Oběti násilných trestných činů, znásilnění, sebevrahové i vrazi. Poslouchám nové album švýcarských maniaků NIHILO, kteří svým novým albem způsobují v záhrobí podivný neklid. Démoni temnoty povstali, aby se přišli pomstít. Zničí vás, roztrhají, spálí na popel, jako letošní novinka. Měl jsem s touhle smečkou již několikrát čest a pokaždé jsem byl rozdrásán do krve.

Dokonce jsem je viděl i na živém vystoupení a mohu jen potvrdit, že pokud máte rádi death metal v jeho surové, prastaré a nespoutané podobě, potom jste zde správně (recenze na předchozí nahrávky i report jsou odkazovány pod dnešním článkem). Křičím spolu s kapelou do tmy, bouře je již velmi blízko, hroby se otvírají a z márnice se ozývá řev nemrtvých. Myslím si, že jsem zde opět správně.

Když se podíváte na současný podivný svět, tak se musíte usmívat jako Satan, kterému vždy vyhovoval chaos. Švýcaři nakumulovali pod tlakem do svých nových skladeb veškerý vztek, frustraci, nahrubo nasekané zlo a nekonečnou temnotu. Nové album vám vypálí na tělo cejch, zničí vás. Skladby jsou napsány velmi uvěřitelně, opravdově, ryze, od srdce a hlavně autenticky. Kývám se spokojeně do rytmu, beru do rukou lopatu a kopu si zase jednou svůj vlastní hrob. Povedl se masivní, absolutně zabijácký zvuk, líbí se mi i motiv na obalu. Všechno zde sedí tak nějak ďábelsky, přirozeně na svých místech. Jako starý pes, který hlídá vstup do podsvětí již více než 30 let, oceňuji album "Abyss" o to více. Kapela je letos ve vynikající formě, dost často si říkám, jestli nepodepsala smlouvu s ďáblem, aby byla rychlejší, šílenější, divočejší. Je něco neklidného, morbidně přitažlivého, co mě nutí poslouchat novinku stále dokola. Nejvíce se k ní vracím v noci, když v ulicích ožívají přízraky. Dívám se na naše město zahalené do smogu a olověné mlhy. Nahoře, kousek od místa, co bydlím, je staré pohřebiště. Až budu zase jednou vědět, že přijde bouřka, vydám se tam se sluchátky na uších. Jsem totiž prokletý, jednotlivé songy se mi zadřely pod kůži, kolují mi v krvi i v podvědomí. Tohle je smrtící kov pro všechny, kteří uctívají jeho klasickou, tradiční podobu. Pro všechny, kteří se těší, že jednou budou pohřbeni zaživa. NIHILO jsou jako jezdci apokalypsy, kteří se přijeli pomstít za všechnu bolest a utrpení. Doporučuji poslouchat v tichu, chladu a naprosté tmě. Teprve potom vynikne síla této nahrávky naplno. Mraky jsou zase jednou nízko, skoro se dotýkají země. Mají barvu zkažené krve. The clouds are low once again, almost touching the ground. They’re the color of rotten blood. The wind is picking up; a storm is about to break any moment now. I can feel the tension in my bones. I’m standing in the middle of an old burial ground in the mountains, where the damned were buried for many years. Victims of violent crimes, rape, suicides, and murderers. I’m listening to the new album by the Swiss maniacs NIHILO, whose latest release is causing a strange unrest in the afterlife. The demons of darkness have risen to seek revenge. They’ll destroy you, tear you apart, and burn you to ashes just like this year’s new release. I’ve had the honor of encountering this pack several times already, and each time I’ve been torn to shreds.

I’m screaming along with the band into the darkness; the storm is very close now, graves are opening, and the roar of the undead echoes from the morgue. I think I’m in the right place again.

When you look at today’s strange world, you can’t help but smile like Satan, who has always thrived on chaos. Under pressure, the Swiss have channeled all their rage, frustration, raw evil, and endless darkness into their new songs. This new album will brand you for life it will destroy you. The songs are written in a very believable, genuine, pure, heartfelt, and above all, authentic way. I nod contentedly to the beat, grab a shovel, and once again dig my own grave. They’ve nailed a massive, absolutely killer sound I even like the cover art. Everything here somehow fits diabolically, naturally, into its place. Like an old dog that’s been guarding the entrance to the underworld for more than 30 years, I appreciate the album “Abyss” all the more. The band is in excellent form this year; I often find myself wondering if they’ve signed a deal with the devil to be faster, crazier, and wilder. There’s something unsettling, morbidly alluring, that compels me to listen to the new album over and over again. I find myself returning to it most often at night, when ghosts come to life in the streets. I look out at our city shrouded in smog and leaden fog. Up above, not far from where I live, there’s an old cemetery. The next time I know a storm is coming, I’ll head there with my headphones on. Because I’m cursed the songs have burrowed under my skin, circulating in my blood and in my subconscious. This is a deadly metal for all who revere its classic, traditional form. For all who look forward to being buried alive one day. NIHILO are like the horsemen of the apocalypse, who have come to exact revenge for all the pain and suffering.
