Budu nasávat atmosféru a užívat si tohle morbidní album. Podám si ruku se svými vlastními démony a znovu a znovu budu zapínat play. Tahle nahrávka je totiž opravdu povedená a nemohu jinak než vám ji doporučit. Takhle nějak by to mělo vypadat. Poslouchejte nahlas! Všichni nakonec shoříme v pekle! Prašivý, syrový, temný a nekonečně bolestivý death metal ze starých prokletých pohřebišť!

Asphyx says:

Something kept drawing me back here. I’d wake up in the middle of the night, exhausted, and every time I came to this old graveyard, a chill ran down my spine. I was like a soulless body, cursed. I hid in the shadows and waited for my time to come. I’m listening to this year’s new album by those Chilean maniacs BLOOD GRAVE, and the graves are opening up. Corpses in various stages of decomposition are crawling out of them. They’re swaying to the beat, flesh falling from their bones, and you can tell they’re enjoying this record just as much as I am.

I love old-school death metal and have been listening to it since my youth, back in the late ’80s and early ’90s. These days, I only pick out bands that catch my interest. Like a spoiled gourmet, I sample from the diverse array of what’s currently on offer, and very often I don’t go any further. With this pack, it’s different. The album was released in early May, but I’d rather cram the songs into my head under pressure than write about them. Be sure to give it a listen yourself and enjoy all the morbid and terrifying echoes from that world that you’ll encounter on the album.

I’m rummaging through old, moldy records and constantly turning up the volume on my player. BLOOD GRAVE made it through my personal quality filter, among other things, because they have a well-crafted, massive, gritty, sharp, and clear sound, an interesting cover design, but most importantly, they managed to write songs that have gotten under my skin and deep into my subconscious. The band emerged from the deepest underground, and what I probably like most about them is that they’re genuine, raw, real, believable, and completely authentic. I’m enjoying the deathly mood, swaying contentedly to the rhythm, like a butcher with an axe who’s just finished his bloody work. I picture a small club, somewhere on the outskirts of town, with this pack on stage and me in the front row, beer in hand. Their concerts must be really wild it’s just a shame that it’s all happening on the other side of the world. “The Execution of Humanity” is an album loosely inspired by old-school bands. The material presented here is precisely targeted, well-written, and well-composed. What’s more, it possesses that hard-to-define energy, that intensity, that desire to destroy through music and, more recently, that legendary South American wildness, which has now become a clear hallmark of bands from that region. I’m already looking forward to nightfall, when I’ll set out on another endless journey. I’ll stop by the morgue, talk to the undead, and assist with the exhumation of yet another cursed grave. I’ll soak up the atmosphere and enjoy this morbid album. I’ll shake hands with my own demons and hit play over and over again. This record is truly a gem, and I can’t help but recommend it to you. This is exactly how it should sound. Listen to it loud! We’ll all burn in hell in the end! Rotten, raw, dark, and infinitely painful death metal from ancient, cursed graveyards!

A few questions - interview with death metal band from Chile - BLOOD GRAVE.

A few questions - interview with death metal band from Chile - BLOOD GRAVE.

Ave, can you introduce your band to our readers? – When was it founded and what style of music do you play etc.?

Hi to all the readers of DEADLY STORM ZINE, and thank you Jakub for granting us this interview.

We are the band Blood Grave, and we play Death Metal. Our band was formed at the end of 2023 in Buin (Santiago, Chile). It was originally founded by Augusto Albornoz (Lead Guitarist), Gustavo Sánchez (First Bassist), and Sebastián Lantaño (Drummer). Later, Pablo Pereda (Rhythm Guitarist) joined. The band started under the name "Execution," composing their first songs. As the weeks passed, the group decided to add a fifth member,

Andrés "Ratanás" Vega joined on vocals. At the same time, they proposed changing the band's name to "Blood Grave." With the complete lineup, we managed to compose a total of 8 songs. Before we could record, Pablo Pereda decided to leave the band, and we added Mirko Huerta as the new guitarist.

This marked a dark chapter in our history. Sadly, due to illness, Gustavo Sánchez passed away at the age of 21. On March 13, 2025, having recovered from this loss, we continued our friend's legacy. Rodrigo Reyes joined on bass, paving the way for our first EP, "The Execution of Humanity."

Where and under what conditions were you recording the new album? Who was in charge of sound, production and mastering?

We recorded in Santiago, Chile, thanks to the initiative of Max Neira and Carlos Fuentes (formerly of Inanna and currently with Coffin Curse). Max Neira heard our debut performance, which he really liked, and offered us the opportunity to record with his bandmate Carlos Fuentes, a sound engineer. Under the guidance of SONIDO ORIGEN and in collaboration with ALHUE MUSIC STUDIO, he handled the recording, editing, mixing, and mastering. The conditions were entirely professional, polished, and complementary. Carlos contributed many ideas that worked perfectly with what we wanted to convey in this recording. We are very grateful to him and Max for making this possible.

How many copies were released and which medium was used for this new edition (CD, digital, vinyl, cassette)?

We managed to release 300 copies of our EP, 75 of which were for Chile. Currently, it's only available on CD. You can also find us on Bandcamp (Chaos Records Bandcamp), where you can also purchase our album, and on YouTube (Death Madness). We'll soon be working on releasing it on cassette and digitally on Spotify.

Who is the author of the lyrics and how were they created and about what do the lyrics deal with?

In the band's early days, some of the lyrics for the songs "The Box" and "Polluting Death" were written by Gustavo Sánchez. When Andrés "Ratanás" Vega joined, he wrote the lyrics for all the other songs: "Bloody Fucking Carnage," "Subconscious Cruelty," "Dark Margin of Mental Involution," "Abysmal Cosmic Horror," and "The Execution of Humanity." These lyrics were conceived as primary ideas before the instrumental composition; there were already written ideas and concepts to convey the message or story they wanted to tell, fitting with the rhythm of each song.

The band's songs and concept explore apocalyptic scenarios, real and fictional stories focused on horror, terror, inspired by novels and films of the genre, serial killers, anti-religion, cosmic horror, and the imminent degradation of humanity under individual or mass mental.

Who created the logo of the band, and who took care of the graphics and the website? What about you and social networks? Do you consider these things important?

The logo and graphic design were handled by our vocalist, Andrés "Ratanás" Vega, and all the album content was created by him and Max Neira. You can see their artwork on Instagram (@rtns_v__art).

Social media has been a huge help in spreading the word about our new releases, live performances, and announcements of new material, so yes, it's been quite helpful, as have traditional media outlets like zines, interviews, and programs that showcase emerging bands.

Which label did you choose for releasing your album and why this label? Are you satisfied by how your label represents you and takés care about you?

So far, Chaos Records is responsible for the start of our discography. It was a recommendation from other bands we know here in Chile:

Sepulcrum, Nigromancia, Blood Oath, and Phantom. These bands released a split with this label and recommended we contact them, since they do a lot of promotion for Death Metal. We're satisfied with the results they've given us.

Which bands do you idolise and where do you get your inspiration?

Our main inspiration comes from Old School Death Metal, Thrash Metal, Heavy Metal, and Punk.

Some of the bands we like and that inspire us are Death, Entombed, Dismember, Autopsy, Pestilence, Napalm Death, Deicide and Horrendous.

Did you send your record to some Labels - which are the labels? How was the response?

We only have been working with Chaos Recs, and the response so far has been Good.

How many gigs have you played? Which type of gigs do you prefer, whether it's (clubs or festivals) and which of your performances would you consider as the best?

We have played about 10 times on gigs in different spots from Santiago, Buin and San Fernando (Rancagua´s Region). We played on clubs and open spaces but all in a underground scene. Our best show we think were on the gig “Guts n Blood” was a tribute show for our brother Gustavo Sanchéz.

What about your plans for the future? What do you want to achieve with the band?

Our plans for the future is keep making new music, record an ep or maybe a long play record and of course keep rocking.

How and where can your fans contact you? Can you provide some contact information?

You can find us on Instagram as blood.grave.dm, on Facebook as Blood Grave, Youtube as Blood Grave (Chile) and our email blood.gravedm@gmail.com

Thanx for the interview.

Thanks Jakub for the interview, Greetings
