Myslel sis, těšil ses, že tvoje utrpení po smrti skončí. Že se rozplyneš v temnotě a nebo shoříš v pekelném ohni. Jenže se tak nestalo. Znovu a znovu prožíváš veškerou nesnesitelnou bolest. Stále dokola, v začarovaném kruhu reinkarnace. Avantgardní black death metalisté VEILBURNER jsem si pro sebe objevil kdysi dávno, když jsem se zase jednou toulal v záhrobí. Líbí se mi jejich přístup k muzice jako takové. Oba pánové vždy stavějí na pevných stylových základech, do kterých potom vkládají spoustu zajímavých a neotřelých prvků.
Tahle smečka, zrozena v opuštěných jeskyních, v sobě má něco neurvalého, nespoutaného, zvířecího. Něco, co je odpudivé a zároveň velmi přitažlivé. Letošní nové album není výjimkou. Naopak, velmi ryze a sebevědomě potvrzuje pozici pensylvánských tmářů. Smrt je zde krutou a nekonečnou spirálou.
Kapela vždy kladla velký důraz na grafiku, na masivní a velmi dobře čitelný zvuk. Vy si tak můžete opět vychutnat melodie, které snad ani nejsou z našeho ubohého světa. VEILBURNER letos nahráli album, které je ukováno z té nejkvalitnější oceli. Přidávány jsou ingredience z jiných dimenzí. Zpočátku se na mě tvářilo album "Longing for Triumph, Reeking of Tragedy" nepřístupně, složitě a nenávistně. Vydržel jsem a postupně odkryl jednotlivé vrstvy. Ohlodal jsem vše na kost a zůstali mi v rukou melodie, které jsou opravdu velmi silné, uvěřitelné a opravdové. Jako by mě při každém poslechu kapela zahalila do krvavé mlhy, strhla do hlubiny. Připadám si najednou jako lovená zvěř. Napříč celým albem se potom jako jedovatý had vine zvláštní neklid. Společná setkání se tak stávají spíše obřadem, starodávným rituálem, než jen obyčejným poslechem. Ono je vlastně pro mě poměrně těžké hudbu VEILBURNER nějak popsat, uchopit. V tomto případě je opravdu lepší, když ochutnáte sami. Jen vás znovu varuji, tahle nahrávka vyžaduje plné soustředění, klid a notnou dávku morbidní fantazie. Pokud ale dojde ke vzájemnému přenosu, jako se to stalo u mě, potom nebudete moci vyhnat nové album z hlavy. Ano, stalo se pro mě doslova prokletím. Musel jsem pokaždé ven, do opuštěných ulic špinavého města. Moje kroky vedly vždy na hřbitov za městem. Slyšel jsem šepot nemrtvých, byl jsem schopen s nimi rozmlouvat. Myslel jsem si, těšil jsem se, že moje utrpení po smrti skončí. Že se rozplynu v temnotě a nebo shořím v pekelném ohni. Jenže se tak nestalo. Znovu a znovu jsem prožíval veškerou nesnesitelnou bolest. Stále dokola, v začarovaném kruhu reinkarnace. Nekonečná smyčka black death metalové bolesti! Temnota, chlad a utrpení!

I discovered the avant-garde black death metal band VEILBURNER a long time ago, when I was wandering in the afterlife once again. I like their approach to music as such. Both gentlemen have always built on solid stylistic foundations, into which they then incorporate many interesting and original elements.
This pack, born in abandoned caves, has something rough, unrestrained, and animalistic about it. Something that is repulsive and yet very attractive at the same time. This year's new album is no exception. On the contrary, it very firmly and confidently confirms the position of the Pennsylvania obscurantists. Death is a court and an endless spiral here.
The band has always placed great emphasis on graphics, on a massive and very legible sound. So you can once again enjoy melodies that are perhaps not even from our poor world. This year, VEILBURNER recorded an album that is forged from the highest quality steel. Ingredients from other dimensions are added. At first, the album "Longing for Triumph, Reeking of Tragedy" looked inaccessible, complex and hateful to me. I endured and gradually uncovered the individual layers. I gnawed everything to the bone and what remained in my hands were melodies that are really very strong, believable and real. It is as if the band enveloped me in a bloody fog every time I listened to it, dragged me into the depths. I suddenly feel like a hunted animal. A strange restlessness then winds its way across the entire album like a poisonous snake. Meetings together thus become more of a ceremony, an ancient ritual, than just ordinary listening. It's actually quite difficult for me to describe, to grasp VEILBURNER's music. In this case, it's really better if you taste it yourself. I'm just warning you again, this record requires full concentration, peace and a good dose of morbid imagination. But if there is a mutual transfer, as it happened with me, then you won't be able to get the new album out of your head. Yes, it literally became a curse for me. I had to go out every time, into the deserted streets of the dirty city. My steps always led to the cemetery outside the city. I heard the whispers of the undead, I was able to talk to them. I thought, I was looking forward to my suffering ending after death. That I would disappear into the darkness or burn in the fire of hell. But it didn't happen. I experienced all the unbearable pain again and again. Over and over again, in a vicious circle of reincarnation. An endless loop of black death metal pain! Darkness, cold and suffering!
