Vím to já i všichni prokletí. To vám klidně podepíšu vlastní krví.
A vždy mi byli velmi dobrými průvodci. Potácím se temnotou, nasávám pach zkažené krve a rozkládajících se těl. Zohavené mrtvoly, vyskládané v úhledných hromadách. Lebky, smějící se do ticha. Děsivý šepot nemrtvých. Hnilobou a zkaženou krví nasáklé doom death metalové album, které vás nakazí pradávnými chorobami! Shnijete zaživa!
Asphyx says:
Lost in endless swamps, I keep searching. I stagger through the darkness, breathing in the stench of rotten blood and decomposing bodies. Mutilated corpses, stacked in neat piles. Skulls, laughing into the silence. The terrifying whispers of the undead. I’ve finally reached my destination. All that’s left is to cross the River of Death. I call out to the ferryman and place the new debut album by the Portland maniacs WORM ALTAR into his bony hands. He nods in agreement, and long after, I can still hear his venomous laughter echoing from beyond the grave.
I’m on the other side, in a land of endless shadows, pain, and suffering. All that remains here is fear, darkness, and the cold that’s gradually seeping into my very core, transforming me in its own image. “So this is what death is like,” I tell the demons as I listen to “Pillars of Eternal Dusk”. It’s a doom death metal masterpiece of the highest quality. I know it, and so do all the damned. Can you also smell the stench of decay spreading all around like poisonous ivy? The atmosphere of the new album is truly captivating. I’d gladly sign that with my own blood.
Together with the band, we’re unearthing another grave. We examine the corpse, sway to the beat, and enjoy the massive, gritty, and crystal clear sound (Ethan Camp - mixing; Dan Lowndes of Resonance Sound Studios - mastering). There’s something mysterious and unsettling that I sense during every time we get together. The album is very well written; it has drive, power, raw, choppy darkness, and ancient rage and hatred gathered from ancient burial grounds. If you’re a fan of bands like COFFINS, MORTIFERUM, GOREMENT, PHRENELITH, DISEMBOWELMENT, or GRAVE UPHEAVAL, then you’ve come to the right place. The guys draw from old archives, but they do so with a fresh perspective, their own ingenuity, and plenty of ideas. This new release is literally a must-have for anyone who still reveres earthen burials and the endless fog in morning cemeteries. WORM ALTAR also has two demo recordings and one EP to their credit. I recommend that you give those a listen as well. You’ll get a complete, morbid picture of the band. I’ve searched in vain for something to criticize. I can’t find anything. Everything here somehow naturally falls into place; at first, the album flows around you it’s like echoes from beyond the grave, like the whispers of demons. At times raw and uncompromising, at others as chilling as a corpse’s hand. “Pillars of Eternal Dusk” became a part of me for a time. I wandered through stinking swamps with the album, slept in moldy dungeons, and exhumed the graves of fallen priests. And they were always very good guides to me. I stagger through the darkness, inhaling the stench of rotten blood and decomposing bodies. Mutilated corpses, stacked in neat piles. Skulls, laughing into the silence. The terrifying whispers of the undead. A doom death metal album steeped in rot and tainted blood that will infect you with ancient diseases! You’ll rot alive!
