Pokaždé, když někde vidím nebo slyším rozhovor s nějakým zlým démonem, vaří se mi krev v žilách. Tisíce obdivovatelek, vášnivých dopisů. Jakoby některé z nás rajcovala smrt a násilí. Oběti nikoho nezajímají. Existuje už jenom krev a absolutní temnota. Sérioví vrazi ve světlech reflektorů, čím krutější, tím lépe. Chce se mi zvracet z lidského rodu a zavírám se znovu a znovu raději do své ulity. Americké amazonky CASTRATOR jsem si pro sebe objevil již v roce 2022, když vydaly svůj debut "Defiled in Oblivion" (rozhovor a recenzi najdete dole pod dnešním článkem).
Líbil se mi jejich rukopis, výraz, taková ta zdravá naštvanost, která k dobrému death metalu patří jako k mrtvému rakev. Kapela byla i je na tom velmi dobře technicky a zároveň umí napsat velmi dobré skladby. I letos se jedná o hrubozrnný, ostře nasekaný materiál se staroškolským feelingem. U téhle nahrávky vám poteče z uší krev.
Dámy jsou i na novém albu "Coronation of the Grotesque" ostré jako břitva, jako nabroušený skalpel. Riffy vás rozdrtí velkou silou, takovým tím tlakem, který se dle mého nedá naučit. Kapela jej musí mít v sobě. Jedná se o hodně nekompromisní album, které ale zároveň obsahuje velké množství temné a chladné atmosféry. Líbí se mi, že kapela ve svých textech upozorňuje na různá zvěrstva, kterých je schopen snad jenom člověk. Příběhy jako smrt Mahsy Amini, hnus a špína, kterou prováděl samozvaný náboženský vůdce Naason Joaquín García nebo eunuchizace rezonují celým albem a krásně morbidně doplňují muziku samotnou. Povedl se i zvuk (Noah Buchanan - mixing, masterig) a o obalu netřeba snad ani mluvit. Jon Zig je vždy zárukou vysoké kvality. Zkrátka a dobře, poslouchat letošní skladby je jako se procházet krutou a ošklivou morbidní galerií smrti. Před očima mi naskakují jednotlivé hnusné a bolestivé obrazy, motivy se mi postupně zadírají pod kůži i do podvědomí. Pokud jste fanoušci kapel jako CANNIBAL CORPSE, DEICIDE, MORBID ANGEL a dalších podobných maniaků, kteří umí ve své tvorbě kombinovat brutalitu, chlad i temnotu ve vzájemném třaskavém poměru, tak neváhejte ani chvilku. CASTRATOR si postupně vybudovali jasnou a pevnou pozici na scéně a stalo se tak zaslouženě. Letošní nové album moje slova jenom potvrzuje. Pro mě osobně je potom nejdůležitější jedna věc - nové skladby mě opravdu baví poslouchat a vždy mě roztrhají na kusy. No one cares about the victims. All that exists is blood and absolute darkness. Serial killers in the spotlight, the more cruel, the better. I want to vomit on the human race and retreat into my shell again and again. I discovered the American Amazons CASTRATOR back in 2022 when they released their debut album "Defiled in Oblivion" (you can find the interview and review below today's article).
I liked their style, their expression, that healthy anger that belongs to good death metal like a coffin belongs to the dead. The band was and still is very good technically and at the same time knows how to write very good songs. This year, too, it's coarse, sharply chopped material with an old-school feel. This recording will make your ears bleed.
The ladies are as sharp as a razor, like a sharpened scalpel, on their new album "Coronation of the Grotesque". The riffs crush you with great force, with a kind of pressure that, in my opinion, cannot be learned. The band must have it within them. It is a very uncompromising album, but at the same time it contains a great deal of dark and cold atmosphere. I like that the band draws attention in their lyrics to various atrocities that only humans are capable of. Stories such as the death of Mahsa Amini, the filth and disgusting acts of self-proclaimed religious leader Naason Joaquín García, and eunuchization resonate throughout the album and beautifully complement the music itself in a morbid way. The sound is also well done (Noah Buchanan - mixing, mastering), and the cover art speaks for itself. Jon Zig is always a guarantee of high quality. In short, listening to this year's songs is like walking through a cruel and ugly morbid gallery of death. Individual disgusting and painful images flash before my eyes, and the motifs gradually get under my skin and into my subconscious. If you are a fan of bands such as CANNIBAL CORPSE, DEICIDE, MORBID ANGEL, and other similar maniacs who know how to combine brutality, coldness, and darkness in their work in an explosive ratio, then don't hesitate for a moment. CASTRATOR has gradually built a clear and solid position on the scene, and deservedly so. This year's new album only confirms my words. For me personally, one thing is most important—I really enjoy listening to the new songs, and they always tear me to pieces.
