Bývala to krásná doba objevování. Měl jsem ještě hlavu nezanesenou přemírou informací. Zajímala mě moje budoucí žena, hudba a knížky. Sesedli jsme se ten památný večer na terásce na náměstí v Plzni. Pamatuji si, že se holky shlukly k sobě, protože je naše řeči zase tolik nezajímaly. Měli jsme se asi bavit o nějakém sportu, autech nebo třeba nadávat na politiku, ale my řešili filmy a hudbu a hlavně knihy. V melounovém cukru mi přinesl, jak jinak, můj výhradní dodavatel dobré literatury, Michal. Řekl mi, že je skvělá, ale ji poprvé četl, když si zahulil nějakou dobrou trávu. Ještě v hospodě jsem prolistoval stránky a moc jsem se netvářil. Slova mi připadala napsaná nějak divně a i téma mě příliš nezajímalo. Není to lehké čtení. Musíte mít opravdu velkou fantazii. On byl také autor duševně nemocný. Přesto jsem si výtisk vzal, uložil jej do žebradla a zapomněl na něj.

O víkendech jsme hodně cestovali. Byl jsem stále ve vlaku. Do Jizerek, do Boleslavi, do Tábora. Někdy jsem jel sám, někdy ve dvou, a tak byl čas na čtení. Kniha mě poprvé chytla někde mezi Berounem a Rokycanama. Byl jsem zrovna na chalupě. Tahal jsem dříví z lesa, stříhal plot a ruce se mi klepaly tak, že jsem se nemohl ani pořádně najíst. Měl jsem velký hlad a skoro žádné peníze, které jsem si šetřil na pivo. Než jsme dojeli do Plzně, měl jsem knížku přečtenou. Před Plzní byla menší výluka a tak se čekalo. Znáte takový ten pocit, že jste už něco někdy zažili? Mě se to stalo znovu jeden červnový víkend. Ano, letos se vše opakovalo. Tahání dřeva, stříhání plotu. Jen těch peněz jsem měl o trošku víc. Knížku dodnes Michalovi dlužím. Nějak ji u mě zapomněl. Odvezl jsem ji na chalupu a vrátil se k ní až letos, když si obnovuji staré čtenářské deníky, co jsem si vedl ještě na koleji. A musím říct, že se dnes dívám na V melounovém cukru trošku jinak. Myslím si, že ji víc chápu, že víc vím, co nám chtěl autor sdělit.

Je to poetická próza, ovlivněná surrealismem i dada. Je to morbidní groteska, underground, alternativa. Traduje se, že beatníci, ke kterým je někdy Richard Brautigan řazen, rozdávali své knihy lidem na ulici. Richard prý tu svoji vytiskl na papírové pytlíky s bylinami a dodnes se jedná o velmi ceněné sběratelské kousky. On je vůbec zajímavý celý život autora. Koneckonců, tak tomu dost často bývá. Možná právě proto můžete v příběhu potkat tygry, kteří trestají rodiče tím, že je sní a pak učí sirotky násobilku. A hlavně melounový cukr, ze kterého je vystavěno úplně všechno. Celý děj je takový poklidný, naivní, přesto v pozadí pobublává něco děsivého, hrozného. Možná právě tenhle pocit mě přesvědčil, abych dal knize šanci na konci devadeátých let i letos. Je svým způsobem velmi originální, jiná, v mnohém mrazivá. Alespoň takový pocit z ní mám já a v menší míře i moje žena, která jí ale vnímala přeci jen trošku jinak. Ono totiž, když začnete číst, tak se musíte prokousat několika stránkami, než začne děj.

Je to utopie, pro někoho podivné představy, zvláštně poskládaná slova. Nenechte se ale mýlit, kniha je promyšlená, inteligentní a zajímavá. Když se konečně vlak zase rozjel a já měl dočteno, díval jsem se z okna a hodně jsem přemýšlel. Přijel jsem domů a napsal recenzi na nové album kapely SOMNIATE, která se shodou okolností ve svých textech touto knihou také zabývá. Všechno mi sedlo tak nějak krásně dohromady, že mi v pondělí vůbec nevadilo, že musím zase do pracovního procesu. Bylo brzy ráno a já zase jednou nevěděl, jestli byl můj sen opravdu jen představou nebo jestli jsem jej už někdy zažil. Myšlenky se mi tentokrát třídily velmi pomalu. Jakoby byl můj mozek opravdu obalen v melounovém cukru. Ten den se mnou nebyla moc řeč. Ono taky, nějaké knihy dneska nikoho moc nezajímají. Rozhodně ne mé kolegy v práci.

Je prostým faktem, že mezi beatníky si hodně vybírám. Některé nechápu vůbec, od jiných se mi líbí jenom některé knihy. Richard Brautigan je ale můj oblíbený autor. Možná i kvůli tomu, že je přeci jen jiný. Sedl mi V melounovém cukru, i třeba Horoskop orloje a Chytání pstruhů v Americe. S doporučením budu tentokrát velmi opatrný. Nevím, jak přistupujete ke knihám vy. Já kupříkladu stejně poslední roky převážně čtu už jen staré sci-fi a nové detektivky. Ale je pro mě hrozně příjemné občas zavzpomínat na staré časy. Oživit si vzpomínky a přečíst si znovu příběhy, které mě kdysi ovlivnily. Je to vlastně v závěru velmi jednoduché. Máte otevřenou mysl? Dovedete překousnout složitější styl psaní? A nebo taky...jste rádi, když můžete na chvilku uniknout ze současného světa? Potom je kniha určitě pro vás. Pokud to máte jinak, tak si přečtěte něco jiného. Děkuji moc za pozornost!

Přijdeš opilý domů a jediná věc, která tě zajímá, tak je spánek. Usneš a po několika minutách se probudíš. Bolí tě hlava i celé tělo. Cítíš, že tě přízraky zvou do jiného světa. Někde mezi stínem a děsivým snem pochopíš, že tvoje vnitřnosti hoří. Bolí tě hlava a přemýšlíš, proč si jiný, odlišný, prokletý. Lehneš si do své oblíbené rakve a přemýšlíš, co by sis poslechl za muziku. Nakonec volíš americké démony WORLD EATER a užíváš si jejich debutové album "An Insidious Remedy".

Je to tak, jsem starý prašivý pes, který vyhledává death metal hořící jasným plamenem. Toulám se záhrobím už dlouhé roky a jsem vždy rád, když si pro sebe objevím nahrávku, jako je ta od těchto démonů. Plesnivý zvuk, klasický obal a spousta morbidních nápadů. No řekněte,co si přát víc? Přidejte hlasitost a přijměte pozvání. Zombie se usmívají, hraje se zde hlavně pro ně i pro všechny nemrtvé.

Jiný už nebudu. Stále dokola rád přerovnávám staré kosti. Vyhledávám death metal, který je zahraný od srdce, upřímně a opravdově. Modlím se k obrácenému kříži a přemýšlím, kdy jsem se stal prokletým. Navštěvuji dávno opuštěné hřbitovy, o kterých vím, že se na nich hraje jenom pravá, nefalšovaná hudba. Přidávám neustále hlasitost, kývám se do rytmu, jako starý hrobník. Jsem velmi spokojený, album "An Insidious Remedy" se mi opravdu líbí. Máme tu co do činění s přesně o takovým tím druhem old school smrtícího kovu, který stojí za pozornost. Skladby jsou napsány opravdu návykovým, zběsilým a mokvajícím způsobem, který mám tolik rád. Chladné melodie, morbidní vokál, děsivé riffy, nahrané v hlubokém podzemí. Smrt zase jednou tančí se Satanem i vy si můžete vychutnat motivy, které musely vznikat několik metrů pod zemí. Jedná se přesně o takový ten druh muziky, kterou si dávám do hlavy hlavně v noci. Když spí město pode mnou, když se toulají ulicemi démoni. Prozradím vám jednu věc. Američané sice nepřinášejí do podsvětí nic nového, ani vyjímečného. Přesto jsou svým způsobem jiní, odlišní a zajímaví. WORLD EATER vás rozsekají na malé kousky a udělají to velmi elegantním způsobem. Rád a často se dívám do tmy. Vyhledávám a podporuji kapely, které pochopili, o čem je krutá, reálná smrt. Tahle smečka moc dobře ví, o čem je dlouhé, bolestivé umírání. Tahle deska je toho jasným důkazem. Poslouchejte hodně nahlas. Death metalový obřad, zahalený do krvavé mlhy!

That's right, I'm a mangy old dog who seeks out death metal that burns with a bright flame. I've been wandering the beyond for many years now and I'm always happy when I discover a record like the one from these demons. Moldy sound, classic cover art and lots of morbid ideas. Well, tell me, what more could you ask for? Turn up the volume and accept the invitation. The zombies are smiling, the game is for them and all the undead.

I won't be any different. I like to rebuild old bones over and over again. I look for death metal that is played from the heart, honestly and truly. I pray to the inverted cross and wonder when I became cursed. I visit long-abandoned cemeteries where I know only real, unadulterated music is played. I keep turning up the volume, swaying to the rhythm, like an old undertaker. I'm very happy, I really like the album "An Insidious Remedy". We're dealing with exactly the kind of old school death metal that's worth paying attention to. The songs are written in a really addictive, frantic and dripping way that I love so much. Cold melodies, morbid vocals, eerie riffs, recorded deep underground. Death once again dances with Satan and you can enjoy the themes that must have been created several meters underground. This is exactly the kind of music I put in my head, especially at night. When the city sleeps below me, when demons roam the streets. I'll tell you one thing. The Americans don't bring anything new or special to the underworld. Yet they are different, different and interesting in their own way. WORLD EATER will chop you up into little pieces and do it in a very elegant way. I like and often look into the darkness. I seek out and support bands that understand what cruel, real death is all about. This pack knows very well what a long, painful death is all about. This record is clear proof of that. Listen very loudly. A death metal ceremony shrouded in a bloody mist!

Ave, can you introduce your band to our readers? – When was it founded and what style of music do you play etc.?

Dan (Rhythm Guitar/Backing Vocals): Hello! We’re World Eater from New Jersey, USA. This band originally started as a studio project back in 2020 with Evan (Bass) and Ed (Vocals) recording a 3 song demo, “A Blight Upon All”. Really killer stuff! When they decided they wanted to become a full band about a year later, I offered to play guitar immediately and brought Wes (Drums) with me. We found Tommy (Lead Guitar) through mutual friends, and it’s been a nonstop ride since! We’re all huge fans of all types of metal, but we mostly play a mix of Death, Thrash, and Doom.

Where and under what conditions were you recording the new album? Who was in charge of sound, production and mastering?

Dan: We decided to produce the album ourselves, as Ed, Tommy, and I all come from music production backgrounds. Ed and I handled a lot of the engineering and mixing, with Tommy coming in later in the process when he finally joined. I mastered the record, and even handled the graphic design of our CD! We really built this album from the ground up.

How many copies were released and which medium was used for this new edition (CD, digital, vinyl, cassette)?

Dan: The record is available on CD at shop.horrorpaingoredeath.com and on all streaming services! No vinyl or cassette yet but never say never.

Who is the author of the lyrics and how were they created and about what do the lyrics deal with?

Dan: Ed wrote a majority of the lyrics, except the Immaculate Calamity which I wrote with Ed’s input, and Gardner of Men which Evan and I helped Ed with. Honestly, the lyrics are mostly written about video game and Movie villains, as a lot of those stories are super interesting with a lot of ways to write about them. The lyrics aren’t particularly personal, but they do have vivid imagery. I’d be curious to see if anyone can figure out who each song is about!

Who created the logo of the band, and who took care of the graphics and the website? What about you and social networks? Do you consider these things important?

Dan: Ed’s sister designed the logo when they were first getting started, and I think it really works with our sound! I handle a majority of the social media accounts, and I think they’re important these days for reaching a global audience. I probably wouldn’t even be doing this interview if it wasn’t for social media! It’s extremely important in today’s climate for people to learn about your music.

Which label did you choose for releasing your album and why this label? Are you satisfied by how your label represents you and takés care about you?

Dan: We signed with Horror Pain Gore Death Productions and we couldn’t be happier! They’re really trying to push our name out to as many people as they can, which is so important.

Which bands do you idolise and where do you get your inspiration?

Dan: The biggest influences in the beginning were Bolt Thrower and Deicide, but since then all of the members have been bringing their influences into the sound. My favorite band is Dir En Grey, who couldn’t be more different from Bolt Thrower! Our inspiration comes from just writing as much music as we can until something sticks, and taking in all the metal we can both new and old. It makes for some very interesting combinations of things!

Did you send your record to some Labels - which are the labels? How was the response?

Dan: We sent the record out to a handful of labels, and HPGD was not only the quickest to get back to us but by far the most enthusiastic.

How many gigs have you played? Which type of gigs do you prefer, whether it's (clubs or festivals) and which of your performances would you consider as the best?

Dan: Festivals are the goal! So far we’ve played small clubs in the Northeastern US. Since we took 2021 to write and 2022 to record, we’ve only played about 8 shows since starting, but the shows get bigger and bigger every time.

What about your plans for the future? What do you want to achieve with the band?

Dan: We want to take this band as far as it can go without compromising our sound, and record as much music as possible. Wacken or bust! We already have another single mostly recorded, so keep an eye out for that.

Interview - THE BLEEDING - Absolutely devastating old school thrash death metal that will tear you apart!

Ave THE BLEEDING! I have never found any interview with you in Czech language. I will ask you first to introduce the band to the readers who do not know you yet. You can start from the beginning and take us throw the whole history of THE BLEEDING.

Tasos: -The Bleeding started in late 2010 with myself and Themis K from Acid Death wanting to do an old school death metal project. We added Jeff Wirth to the group and started writing material. Up until the release of Death Eternal, The Bleeding was a studio project. At that point I decided that I wanted the band to play shows, and sadly because Themis and Jeff lived in other countries, the first version of the band gave way to the new London-based one. Germ (Jamie Stungo) is a professional musician and friend of mine who joined as the vocalist. We’ve changed our line up a few times over the years, but we’re still going strong!

This year you are releasing the new album „Monokrator“. Again, it's a dark, harsh and honest thrash/death metal. Did you access to the recording process differently than last time or did you choose verified practices?

-We try to learn from each studio session and one of the things we’ve learned is that you can’t rush the vocal tracking, or you might end up with performances that miss the mark. For Monokrator, Germ tracked all of his vocals in his home studio and I think the result is his best recorded performance to date. The other change is we’ve kept some of the solos as they were tracked in the demos, because there was a magic about them that can’t be recreated.

The new album seems to me more complicated, perhaps initially less accessible, at the same time incredibly dark and evil. Was it intentional? How did the album originate and how did you compose the music?

-It was intentional. The good thing that happened with the pandemic was that it allowed us to evaluate the band status and the musical direction. We decided we wanted the new album to be a statement that The Bleeding means massacre. We’ve made the new record as direct and death-metal-based as possible.

I have a „Monokrator“ in my MP3 player and I have to say that this album literally engulfed me. These are not just great ideas but also sound is simply devastating. I'm sitting in the tram, and suddenly I find myself shaking my legs. I have a feeling to start moshing. If I weren’t so old, I would probably start to. Where did you record and who is signed under mastering?

- Well this is 20 years experience in playing and writing metal. Also this time around there was a lot more focus and almost zero friction during the songwriting process, which I couldn’t say the same about the Morbid Prophecy sessions.

Who is the author of lyrics on „Monokrator“? What are they talking about? Where do you get inspiration for themes?

-Germ wrote most of the lyrics. The basic themes are Death, Destruction, Madness and Desperation. Germ is a master of his craft. I would encourage everyone to take a moment and read through his lyrics from all of our albums. You’d be hard-pressed to find a better lyricist and all that before ChatGPT!

Who is signed under the cover of „Monokrator“? I like his work very much. How did you choose the motif for cover?

- Juanjo Castellano did the artwork. We were very fortunate to have onboard one of the best illustrators in modern death metal.

When we look back at the beginning ... What was the first impulse to found the band? And why the thrash/death metal? It's not the typical style which can would give you great "glory".

-The inspiration to start The Bleeding was the song Death Eternal. I had ealry versions of this song in previous bands, but one day as I was walking home, the verse riff came to me. I paused for a minute and decided that this is good enough reason to start a new band. We all love Slayer, Kreator, Sepultura as well as Death, Cannibal Corpse and Pestilence. I personally appreciate death metal more as a genre but I like the punk-rock foundation of early thrash. I think it’s important to combine the two. You end up with something that has roots in Motorhead essentially.

You come from United Kingdom and you play extreme thrash/death metal. Our readers would certainly wonder how the metal scene works in your country. To tell you the truth, so lately I hear only the great bands from there. Does this mean that the scene there is so strong at the moment? What about concerts, how many people coming to them?

-There’s a scene in the UK but not necessarily tailored around our genre. People support local bands as well as big live acts. Most major shows are sold out.

From your music is possible to feel that you are influenced by American thrash death metal school and as well by the old European bands. How do you feel about it as a fan? Do you prefer the original metal of the 1990s or do you get inspiration as well from the new albums? If yes so I am wondering which bands had the greatest impact on THE BLEEDING.

-I was thinking about that the other day. I think the most recent band that was an inspiration to us was Nekromantheon and before that, Bloodbath. The problem in the way we perceive 80s and 90s bands now is that most bands treat them as prototypes. You hear today an entire dissonant genre that is based on Incantation, bands that are essentially using the works of older bands as blueprint. We do that as well to a degree, but not intentionally. Some bands that have inspired us are: Nekromantheon, Goatwhore, Marduk, Impaled Nazarene, Bloodbath, Hypocrisy, Cannibal Corpse, Hypnosia, Blood Red Throne, Sinister, Deranged, early-Death, Celtic Frost, early-Kreator, early-Slayer, very-early-Metallica, early-Pestilence, Sodom, Darkthrone, early-Sepultura, Ancient Rites, Asphyx.

What about you and concerts in general? Are you a band that goes for concerts anytime you can or you are picky about where you will play? Do you have a dream, maybe a group you would like to go with for a tour or festival, a city where you would like to perform?

-We have been quite picky about shows and that is not great. No particular dreams other than to play to energised crowds across the world! Any promoters in Europe or elsewhere that would like to have us over for shows do reach out!

I'm going to listen again your new album „Monokrator“. I have to say that for me personally, this is basically a perfect thrash death metal work. Totally inferno. I wish big success to your record and to get this album to as many people as is possible. This album deserves it. I wish you all the best in your personal life. Whatever you do and the last words are yours. If you want to tell something to fans, labels, promoters, you have space here..... Ave THE BLEEDING! Nikde jsem s vámi nenašel žádný rozhovor v češtině. Poprosím tě tedy nejdřív, abys čtenářům, kteří vás ještě neznají, představil kapelu. Můžeš klidně začít úplně od začátku a provést nás celou historií THE BLEEDING.

Tasos: The Bleeding vznikli koncem roku 2010, kdy jsme s Themisem K z Acid Death chtěli udělat old school death metalový projekt. Přidali jsme do skupiny Jeffa Wirtha a začali psát materiál. Až do vydání alba Death Eternal byla The Bleeding studiovým projektem. V té době jsem se rozhodl, že chci, aby kapela hrála koncerty, a bohužel kvůli tomu, že Themis a Jeff žili v jiných zemích, ustoupila první verze kapely té nové, londýnské. Germ (Jamie Stungo) je profesionální hudebník a můj kamarád, který se připojil jako zpěvák. V průběhu let jsme několikrát změnili sestavu, ale stále fungujeme!

Letos vydáváte čerstvou novinku „Monokrator“. Opět se jedná o temný, drsný a poctivý thrash/death metal. Přistupovali jste k nahrávání jinak než minule nebo jste zvolili ověřené postupy?

Snažíme se poučit z každého studia a jednou z věcí, kterou jsme se naučili, je, že nemůžete spěchat s nahráváním vokálů, jinak by se mohlo stát, že se vám nepodaří dosáhnout správného výsledku. Pro Monokrator Germ trackoval všechny vokály ve svém domácím studiu a myslím, že výsledkem je jeho dosud nejlepší nahraný výkon. Další změnou je, že jsme ponechali některá sóla tak, jak byla trackována na demosnímcích, protože v nich bylo kouzlo, které se nedá znovu vytvořit.

Nová deska mi přijde o nějaký řád komplikovanější, zpočátku možná méně přístupná, zároveň ale neskutečně temná a zlá. Byl to záměr? Jak vlastně album vznikalo a jakým způsobem jste skládali muziku?

Byl to záměr. Dobrá věc, která se s pandemií stala, byla, že nám umožnila zhodnotit stav kapely a hudební směřování. Rozhodli jsme se, že chceme, aby nové album bylo prohlášením, že The Bleeding znamená masakr. Novou desku jsme udělali co nejpřímočařejší a deathmetalově založenou.

Mám „Monokrator“ ve svém MP3 přehrávači a musím říct, že jsem jím doslova pohlcen. Nejsou to jen skvělé nápady, ale i zvuk, který je jedním slovem devastující. Sedím třeba v tramvaji a najednou se přistihnu, že si podupávám nohou. Mám sto chutí začít pařit. Nebýt už pán v letech, asi bych to i udělal. Kde jste desku nahrávali a kdo je podepsán pod masteringem?

Tohle je 20 let zkušeností s hraním a psaním metalu. Tentokrát bylo také mnohem větší soustředění a téměř nulové tření při psaní písní, což se nedá říct o sezeních při Morbid Prophecy.

Kdo je autorem textů na „Monokrator“? A o čem pojednávají? Kde pro témata berete inspiraci?

Germ napsal většinu textů. Základními tématy jsou smrt, destrukce, šílenství a zoufalství. Germ je mistrem svého oboru. Všem bych doporučil, aby si našli chvilku a přečetli si jeho texty ze všech našich alb. Těžko byste našli lepšího textaře a to vše před ChatGPT!

Kdo je podepsán pod obalem novinky „Monokrator“? Jeho práce se mi hodně líbí. Jak jste vůbec motiv na obal vybírali?

Obrázky vytvořil Juanjo Castellano. Měli jsme velké štěstí, že jsme měli na palubě jednoho z nejlepších ilustrátorů moderního death metalu.

Když se ještě podíváme do začátku…Co bylo vlastně tím prvním impulsem, že jste dali dohromady kapelu? A proč zrovna thrash death metal? Není to zrovna styl, který by vám získal velkou „slávu“.

Inspirací k založení The Bleeding byla píseň Death Eternal. V předchozích kapelách jsem měl několik verzí této písně, ale jednoho dne, když jsem šel domů, mě napadl riff sloky. Na chvíli jsem se zastavil a rozhodl se, že je to dostatečně dobrý důvod k založení nové kapely. Všichni máme rádi Slayer, Kreator, Sepulturu, ale i Death, Cannibal Corpse a Pestilence. Já osobně si jako žánru cením spíš death metalu, ale líbí se mi punkrockový základ raného thrashe. Myslím, že je důležité tyto dva směry kombinovat. Nakonec vznikne něco, co má v podstatě kořeny v Motorhead.

Pocházíte z Velké Británie a hrajete extrémní thrash/death metal. Naše čtenáře by určitě zajímalo, jak funguje vaše metalová scéna? Abych pravdu řekl, tak poslední dobou od vás slyším jen samé skvělé smečky. Znamená to, že je u vás v současnosti scéna hodně silná? Co třeba koncerty, kolik chodí lidí?

Ve Velké Británii existuje scéna, ale ne nutně přizpůsobená našemu žánru. Lidé podporují místní kapely i velké koncertní kapely. Většina velkých koncertů je vyprodaná.

Z vaší hudby je cítit, že jste ovlivněni jak americkou thrash death metalovou školou, tak i starými evropskými kapelami. Jak jste na tom jako fanoušci? Máte radši původní metal devadesátých let nebo čerpáte inspiraci i z nových desek? Pokud ano, zajímalo by mě, které smečky měly/mají na THE BLEEDING největší vliv.

Nedávno jsem o tom přemýšlel. Myslím, že poslední kapela, která nás inspirovala, byli Nekromantheon a předtím Bloodbath. Problém v tom, jak teď vnímáme kapely z 80. a 90. let, je, že většina kapel je bere jako prototypy. Dnes slyšíš celý disonantní žánr, který je založený na Incantation, kapely, které v podstatě používají tvorbu starších kapel jako předlohu. My to do jisté míry děláme taky, ale ne záměrně. Některé kapely, které nás inspirovaly, jsou např: Nekromantheon, Goatwhore, Marduk, Impaled Nazarene, Bloodbath, Hypocrisy, Cannibal Corpse, Hypnosia, Blood Red Throne, Sinister, Deranged, early-Death, Celtic Frost, starý Kreator, staří Slayer, velmi stará Metallica, staří Pestilence, Sodom, Darkthrone, stará Sepultura, Ancient Rites, Asphyx.

Co vlastně vy a koncerty obecně? Jste kapelou, která jezdí po koncertech, co to jenom jde nebo si hodně vybíráte? Máte nějaký sen, třeba skupinu, se kterou byste chtěli vyrazit na turné nebo festival, město, kde byste chtěli vystupovat?

Byli jsme dost vybíraví, co se týče koncertů, a to není dobré. Nemáme žádné zvláštní sny, kromě toho, že chceme hrát před nabitými davy po celém světě! Jakýkoli promotér v Evropě nebo jinde, který by nás chtěl pozvat na koncert, se ozvěte!

Jdu si vaši novou desku „Monokrator“ znovu pustit. Musím říct, že pro mě osobně se jedná v podstatě dokonalé thrash death metalové dílo. Totální inferno. Přeji vám, aby se nahrávce dařilo, aby se dostala k co největšímu počtu fanoušků. Zaslouží si to. Přeji vám vše nejlepší i v osobním životě. Ať se vám daří a poslední slova jsou tvoje. Pokud chceš něco vzkázat fanouškům, labelům, promotérům, máš prostor. Děkuji za rozhovor a už teď se těším, až vás uvidím někdy naživo!

Prosévám mezi prsty prach svých předků a přemýšlím, jakým způsobem zemřeli. Rodinná hrobka vydala své svědectví. Spousta utrpení a bolesti, ale také světla na konci tunelu. Je mi zima a pomalu mi dochází, že nastal čas. Jedna rakev je ještě prázdná. Uléhám do ní, dýchám tiše, abych nenarušil mrazivou atmosféru. Smutek a strach se střídají s napětím. Na mé poslední cestě mě provází nová deska, debut skotských ORDER OF DECAY.

Ti hrají syrový a temnou krví nasáklý doom death metal, který již od prvního tónu působí jako mrazivé ozvěny ze záhrobí. Závěť je sepsána a rakev zatlučena. Vítr v korunách stromů žaluje, když mě ukládají do staré kobky. Na pohřeb mi přišli jen prokletí, jenom lidé bez tváře.

"Mortification Rites" je spíše jako nějaká naléhavě odříkávaná mantra, než jen obyčejná nahrávka. V kostech mám již dávno chlad a moje maso je prolezlé červy. Brzy se také rozpadnu v prach a zůstane po mě jen mlhavá vzpomínka. Ale než se tak stane, budu si užívat skvělý, ledový a syrový zvuk, s chutí se podívám na symboly smrti na obalu a až přejdu na druhou stranu, tak budu všem nemrtvým tohle album doporučovat. Má totiž v sobě vše potřebné pro poslední věci člověka na tomto světě. Skladby obsahují velké množství temné, zlověstné energie a mohlo by se líbit fanouškům třeba takových GRAVE MIASMA, KRYPTS, VOID ROT, ATARAXY, INCANTATION. Myslím si ale, že tenhle opravdový, reálný pohřeb do zmrzlé země osloví i všechny obdivovatele nekonečných stínů. Smrt je při poslechu hodně blízko, cítím její přítomnost za každým rohem. Brousí si kosu a usmívá se, moc dobře totiž ví, že tahle hudba je zahraná upřímně, opravdově, s černě morbidní jiskrou. Vždycky oceňuji u nahrávek drive a sílu, množství emocí, které na mě dokáže kapela přenést. A skotským maniaků se povedlo mě mnohokrát pohřbít zaživa. Kývám se do větru, jako oběšenec na stromě. Padám po zádech do hlubiny, děsí mě noční můry. ORDER OF DECAY jsou novou smečkou v záhrobí, kterou nelze jinak, než doporučit. Prosévám mezi prsty prach svých předků a přemýšlím, jakým způsobem zemřeli. Teď už to vím, pochopil jsem. Mrazivý, temný doom death metal, nasáklý zkaženou krví! Zkázonosné prokletí duše i těla!

I sift the dust of my ancestors between my fingers and wonder how they died. The family tomb has given its testimony. A lot of suffering and pain, but also a light at the end of the tunnel. I'm cold, and it slowly dawns on me that the time has come. One coffin is still empty. I lie down in it, breathing quietly so as not to disturb the chilling atmosphere. Sadness and fear alternate with tension. On my last journey I am accompanied by a new album, the debut of Scottish ORDER OF DECAY.

They play raw and dark blood-soaked doom death metal, which from the very first note feels like chilling echoes from beyond the grave. The will is written and the coffin is hammered. The wind in the treetops mourns as I am laid to rest in an old dungeon. Only the damned came to my funeral, only faceless men.

"Mortification Rites" is more like an urgently chanted mantra than a simple recording. My bones are cold and my flesh is crawling with worms. Soon I too will crumble into dust and only a vague memory will remain. But before that happens, I will enjoy the great, icy and raw sound, I will look with relish at the symbols of death on the cover and when I cross over to the other side, I will recommend this album to all the undead. Because it has everything needed for the last things of man in this world. The songs contain a lot of dark, sinister energy and might appeal to fans of the likes of GRAVE MIASMA, KRYPTS, VOID ROT, ATARAXY, INCANTATION. But I think this real, real burial into the frozen ground will appeal to all fans of endless shadows. Death is very close when listening, I can feel its presence around every corner. He's sharpening his scythe and smiling, knowing full well that this music is played with an honest, real, blackly morbid sparkle. I always appreciate drive and power in a record, the amount of emotion a band can bring to me. And Scottish Maniacs have managed to bury me alive many times. I'm swaying in the wind, like a hanged man in a tree. I fall on my back into the depths, terrified by nightmares. ORDER OF DECAY are a new pack in the afterlife that I can't recommend enough. I sift the dust of my ancestors between my fingers and wonder how they died. Now I know, I understand. Chilling, dark doom death metal, soaked in corrupted blood! The bane of soul and body!

Ave, can you introduce your band to our readers? – When was it founded and what style of music do you play etc.?

Claustrum formed in 2020 during pandemic between Trieste and Gorizia (IT)

We formed the band with the intention of playing dirty ,raw and filthy death metal nothing more nothing less.

Where and under what conditions were you recording the new album? Who was in charge of sound, production and mastering?

The album was Recorded at trackterminalstudio in Trieste by Francesco Bardy

And Mixed /mastered by Gabriele Gramaglia (Cosmic Putrefaction)

The Album has been Released on LP and CD by AvantGarde Music ( Milan), an historical italian label since 1994 and their death metal division Unorthodox Emanations, on the 9th of june 2023

A tape version will be also released by Night Terrors Records (Amsterdam Netherlands) and FilthJunkies Records (Praha Czech Republic)

Who is the author of the lyrics and how were they created and about what do the lyrics deal with?

The author of the lyrics is Paolo (me),also the bass player ,and they were created drinking lots of beers:) watching many horror movies and taking inspiration from sci -fi horror and autors like Poe and Lovecraft .

Who created the logo of the band, and who took care of the graphics and the website? What about you and social networks? Do you consider these things important?

Which label did you choose for releasing your album and why this label? Are you satisfied by how your label represents you and takés care about you?

We decided for avant-garde label because after we sent them the first demo they immediately sent us an excellent offer we were unable to say no, we didn't immediately expect to be able to make a vinyl release and a cd with a label, we thought at first to make a demo for bandcamp or a self-produced cd, but avantgarde immediately offered to make the vinyl and the cd and so we accepted without thinking about it much and we are very satisfied and grateful.

Which bands do you idolise and where do you get your inspiration?

We have many favorite bands, we all listen to a lot of music, and of course we love genre classics like Bolt thrower Autopsy

Incantation, Death, Morbid Angel to name a few and we also like newer bands like Cerebral rot, Undergang, Tomb Mold, Vastum and many more, there is a band from the Czech republic that you surely know that we like a lot, Snet, their record is very powerful and their live shows are incredible!

Did you send your record to some Labels - which are the labels? How was the response?

W avant-garde!

How many gigs have you played? Which type of gigs do you prefer, whether it's (clubs or festivals) and which of your performances would you consider as the best?

,At the moment we haven't played live yet ,but we are organizing ourselves for the future, we all already have experience with our previous bands but Claustrum hasn't played live yet, but we can't wait to do it and some dates have already been set.

We don't have great preferences for live performances, of course playing at a big festival would be very nice, but we also like a small club or squat with the right atmosphere very much.

What about your plans for the future? What do you want to achieve with the band?

Our plans for the future are to promote the album and play it live, meet new people and other bands, make new friends, and write new music.
