Naučil jsem se o víkendu toulat v nedalekých lesích. Vždycky si s sebou vezmu nějakou dobrou starou hudbu. Nějaký kus zkaženého masa, které jsem kdysi rád a často ochutnával v devadesátých letech minulého století. Švédské INCARNATED zná asi každý, kdo se jenom otřel o extrémní muziku. Vydali sice jenom dvě dema, ale vím, že kopírované kazety s jejich skladbami se ke mě také dostaly.
Nedělejme si ale iluze. Šlo spíš o to, že se jednalo o něco nového, něco, co bylo ze Švédska. Zvuk byl na kazetách šílený, často se to nedalo vůbec poslouchat. Ale spokojeně jsme pokyvovali hlavou u hi-fi věží a říkali, jaké je to skvělé. Jestli se nepletu, tak potom kapela víceméně zanikla nebo o ní nebylo slyšet vůbec nic. Až najednou, jednoho mlhavého rána mi přistály promo materiály v emailu. A můj mozek začal pracovat na plné obrátky. Vzpomínky lítaly vzduchem a já se těšil, až půjdu zase jednou kolem hřbitova.
Když se podíváte sem: INCARNATED, tak zjistíte, že v kapele hráli muzikanti, kteří každý svým způsobem hodně ovlivnili nejen švédskou hudební scénu. Songy z kompilace jsou samozřejmě poplatné tehdejší době. Možná nejsou dokonalé, ale mají v sobě velkou sílu, kus odhodlání a taky takovou tu špínu a temnotu, která byla pro muziku tehdejších kapel tolik typická. INCARNATED ale byli jiní, než ostatní severské smečky. Možná zaznívala více americká škola, která byla vždy typická hlavně velkým příklonem k temnotě. Přiznám se bez mučení, že i po všech těch letech je hrozně příjemné si kompilaci užívat. Dvě demonahrávky, které díky labelu Grind to Death Records neupadnou do zapomnění. Pokrm spíše pro pamětníky, hudební archeology a všechny nadšence, kteří mají pořád raději čerstvě vykopaný hrob, než umělé kapely dnešní pomatené doby. Jako bych byl zavřený v márnici, neustále dokola poslouchal "Choirs of the Dead" a užíval si všechnu tu prašivinu, plesnivinu a chlad, které kompilace obsahuje. Podobná hudba je kusem i mé vlastní historie. Možná je v tom kus nostalgie, ale tady se hraje hudba ze starých katakomb, z márnic, kde si dávají rande nemrtví se Satanem. Exhumace proběhla na výbornou, death metal navždy!

Swedish INCARNATED is known to almost everyone who has just wiped out extreme music. They only released two demos, but I know that the copied cassettes with their songs also came to me.
But let's not have any illusions. It was more about something new, something from Sweden. The sound was crazy on the tapes, often not audible at all. But we nodded contentedly at the hi-fi towers and said how great it is. If I'm not mistaken, then the band more or less disappeared or nothing was heard about it. Suddenly, one foggy morning, promo materials landed in my email. And my brain started working at full speed. Memories flew through the air, and I looked forward to walking around the cemetery again.
If you look here: INCARNATED, you will find that the band played musicians who each influenced not only the Swedish music scene in their own way. The songs from the compilation are, of course, due at the time. They may not be perfect, but they have a lot of strength, a bit of determination and also the kind of dirt and darkness that was so typical of the music of the bands of that time. But INCARNATED were different from other Nordic packs. Perhaps there was a more American school, which was always characterized mainly by a great inclination to darkness. I confess without torture that even after all these years, it is very pleasant to enjoy the compilation. Two demos that will not be forgotten thanks to the Grind to Death Records label. A dish more for witnesses, music archaeologists and all enthusiasts who still prefer a freshly dug grave to artificial bands of today's crazy times. As if locked in a morgue, I kept listening to "Choirs of the Dead" and enjoying all the dust, mold and cold that the compilation contained. Similar music is a piece of my own history. There may be a bit of nostalgia, but here the music is played from the old catacombs, from the morgue, where the undead date with Satan. The exhumation was excellent, death metal forever!

Choirs of the Dead - The Complete Works of Incarnated features all four demo's Incarnated recorded from 1993 to 1999, two of the demo's are previously unreleased so this is high time to (re)discover a hidden gem from the golden era of Swedish death metal! Limited to 500 copies worldwide.
