Nesu na zádech obrácený kříž. Když ale dojdu k čerstvému hrobu, tak najdu jenom otevřenou rakev. Vyděsí mě to. Mrtví by měli zůstat pohřbení v zemi. Jenže všechno je jako vždy jinak. Staří fanoušci death metalu vědí své. Touláme se po hřbitovech a hledáme hudbu, která nás navěky prokleje. Zavřu se do márnice a poslouchám novou desku švédských maniaků BASTARD GRAVE.
Stačí několik prvních tónů a nemrtví se objeví. Pozvou mě k tanci a prokousnou mi hrdlo. Jsem tu správně, kopu do rytmu další hrob, nasávám shnilou a temnou atmosféru skladeb. Tohle je smrtící kov přesně podle mého gusta. Zkažený, špinavý, hnisavý.
Po stěnách stéká zkažená krev. Toulám se spolu s kapelou podzemím. Objevujeme temná zákoutí lidské mysli, rozmlouváme s přízraky i se samotnou smrtí. BASTARD GRAVE se volně inspirují u kapel typu DISMEMBER, ENTOMBED, BOLT THROWER, ASPHYX nebo třeba AUTOPSY. Jejich třetí dlouhohrající deska je vzkazem pro démony a prokleté. Všichni jednou zemřete, to je jediná jistota! Oceňuji špinavý, chladný zvuk (Greg Wilkinson - Mixing, Mastering), líbí se mi i obal (Thomas "Necromaniac" Westphal), který sedne k hudbě jako k mrtvému obřadní svíce. Pánové a dáma sice neobjevují nic nového, ani nemění směr, ale hrají od srdce, opravdově, uvěřitelně. Před několika lety jsem je viděl i naživo a musím podepsat vlastní krví, že se jedná o šílené maniaky. Koncert mi připomínal staré dobré časy, když se pohřbívalo jenom do země. Pokud jste stejně jako já, fanoušci ověřených postupů a s chutí trávíte dlouhé hodiny na hřbitovech, tak neváhejte ani chvilku. "Vortex Of Disgust" je určeno přímo pro vás. Nesu na zádech obrácený kříž. Když ale dojdu k čerstvému hrobu, tak najdu jenom otevřenou rakev. V ní leží nová nahrávka švédských BASTARD GRAVE. Kosti praskají tlakem, lebky se smějí do ticha. Smrt je hodně blízko! Rozkládající se death metalová mršina!
I carry an inverted cross on my back. But when I get to the fresh grave, all I find is an open coffin. It scares me. The dead should stay buried in the ground. But everything is different, as always. Old death metal fans know their stuff. We roam the cemeteries looking for the music that will damn us forever. I close myself in the morgue and listen to the new album from Swedish maniacs BASTARD GRAVE.
The first few notes are all it takes for the undead to appear. They ask me to dance and bite my throat. I'm right there, kicking to the beat of another grave, soaking up the rotten and dark atmosphere of the songs. This is death metal exactly to my taste. Rotten, dirty, festering.
There's rotten blood running down the walls. I wander with the band through the underground. We explore the dark corners of the human mind, talk to ghosts and death itself. BASTARD GRAVE is inspired by bands like DISMEMBER, ENTOMBED, BOLT THROWER, ASPHYX or AUTOPSY. Their third full-length album is a message for demons and the damned. You will all die one day, that's the only certainty! I appreciate the dirty, cool sound (Greg Wilkinson - Mixing, Mastering), I also like the cover art (Thomas "Necromaniac" Westphal) which fits the music like a dead ceremonial candle. Gentlemen and lady don't discover anything new or change direction, but they play from the heart, real, believable. I saw them live a few years ago and I have to sign in my own blood that these are mad maniacs. The concert reminded me of the good old days when they only buried themselves in the ground. If, like me, you are a fan of tried and proven methods and enjoy spending long hours in cemeteries, don't hesitate a moment. "Vortex Of Disgust" is for you. I carry an inverted cross on my back.
