Beru do rukou kladivo. Už nastal čas. Cítím to. Musím ven, všechno mě štve. Tupé pohledy lidí na ulici, televizní zprávy a hlavně internet, který se proměnil ve špinavou stoku. Zabouchnu za sebou dveře a přepnu se do jiného režimu. Propadnu opět temnotě a vydám se směrem na hřbitov. Už na mě čekají. Nejkrásnější zombie ve městě. Zachrastíme pytlem plným kostí a zatančíme si do rytmu nové desky belgických tmářů CARNATION. Hudba se mi zařízne ihned do mozku jako ostrý nůž. Zatluču poslední hřebík do rakve a přidám volume.

Kdo tuhle smečku sledujete od jejich počátků, tak moc dobře víte, že je ve svém hrobnickém řemesle velmi precizní a že nikdy nepodceňuje základní věci jako je zvuk, obal, produkci, ale třeba i klipy a co jsem viděl, tak i živou prezentaci. Možná mi u nich chybí trošku té staré špíny, ale nevadí. Novinka se opět velmi povedla. A to po všech stránkách.

Z hrobů je cítit obrovský a hnusný smrad. Těla jsou již ve značném stádiu rozkladu. Nezbývá než za zvuků téhle desky zavzpomínat na devadesátá léta minulého století. Pokud máte rádi třeba takové BLOODBATH, ENTOMBED, nověji pak třeba HELSLAVE, je nové album určeno i pro vás. Líbí se mi, že se kapela jako celek vyvíjí, každé album je trošku jiné. Nová deska je potom pestřejší, než dřívější počiny. Alespoň tak vnímám "Cursed Mortality" já a všechny zombie. Pozornější čtenáře asi bude zajímat, na co jsem si s sebou vzal kladivo, které zmiňuji v úvodu dnešní recenze. Je to přeci jasné, stejně jako, že jednou všichni zemřeme. Až skončí večírek, čeká mě ještě práce. Musím rozdrtit velké množství starých prašivých kostí a lebek. Musím ze sebe dostat vztek, který jsem načerpal během předešlých dní. Vyčistit si hlavu, pohřbít několik mrtvol do studené země. O to tu běží a tohle je přesná definice toho, co se na nové nahrávce odehrává. Doporučuji podávat v chladné místnosti, na starých hřbitovech a na víkách od rakve. Belgičanům se opět povedlo nahrát album, které trhá na kusy. Osobně bych si sice dovedl představit trošku víc špíny a takové té těžko definovatelné patiny, ale to je jen drobnost. Jinak je nový počin skvělý po všech stránkách. Beru do rukou kladivo. Už nastal čas. Cítím to. Musím ven, všechno mě štve. CARNATION zabíjejí na potkání hudbou! A dělají to s elegancí zkušených death metalových hrobníků!

I'm picking up a hammer. It's about time. I can feel it. I have to get out, everything's bothering me. The dull stares of the people on the street, the TV news and especially the internet, which has turned into a dirty sewer. I slam the door behind me and switch to another mode. I fall back into the darkness and head towards the cemetery. They're waiting for me. The most beautiful zombies in town. We rattle a bag of bones and dance to the beat of the new album by Belgian darkies CARNATION. The music cuts into my brain like a sharp knife. If you've been following this pack since their early days, you know very well that they are very precise in their tomb craft and that they never underestimate the basic things like sound, cover, production, but maybe even clips and, as far as I've seen, live presentation. I might miss a bit of the old dirt with them, but I don't mind. The new stuff is again very good. In all aspects.

There's a huge, foul stench coming from the graves. The bodies are already in a considerable state of decomposition. There is nothing to do but reminisce about the 1990s to the sound of this record. If you like BLOODBATH, ENTOMBED or more recently HELSLAVE, this new album is for you. I like that the band as a whole is evolving, each album is a bit different. The new album is then more varied than the earlier ones. At least that's how I and all zombies perceive "Cursed Mortality". More attentive readers may be wondering what I brought the hammer for, which I mention in the beginning of today's review. It's obvious, after all, as is the fact that we're all going to die someday. When the party's over, I've got work to do. I have to crush a lot of old mangy bones and skulls. I have to get out the anger I've built up over the past few days. Clear my head, bury a few corpses in the cold earth. That's what it's all about, and that's the very definition of what's happening on the new record. I recommend serving it in a cold room, in old graveyards and on coffin lids. Once again the Belgians have managed to record an album that rips to shreds. Personally, I could see a bit more dirt and that hard to define patina, but that's just a minor detail. Otherwise, the new album is great in all aspects. I'm picking up the hammer. It's about time. I can feel it. I've got to get out, everything's bothering me. CARNATION are killing it with the music! And they do it with the elegance of seasoned death metal gravediggers!
