Pokaždé, když hledám odpovědi na otázky ohledně smrti, tak skončím na tomto hřbitově. Jsou na něm po staletí pohřbívána těla prokletých. Místní hrobník toho ví o posmrtném životě víc, než většina ostatních lidí. Tentokrát mě zavedl k hrobce, která má nad vchodem nápis MORTUAL. Už jsem zde jednou byl, kdysi v roce 2020, když kapela vydala EP "Divine Monstrosity". Již tenkrát jsem věděl, že se jedná o opravdový, reálný prašivý death metal, zahraný s krvavou jiskrou v oku.
Vstoupil jsem dovnitř i tentokrát, když se mi dostalo do rukou jejich nové letošní album. Stále je z něj cítit zkažená krev a touha po nekromantii. Tihle maniaci se s ničím moc nepářou, jsou blasfemičtí, divocí, suroví a přikovají vás na obrácený kříž. Nezbývá mi tedy nic jiného, než přidat hlasitost a zase jednou se rozplynout ve tmě.
Toulám se podsvětím již skoro 35 let a stále věřím ve tmu i v absolutní zlo. Mám rád, když můžu kapele jejich morbidní práci věřit, když se mi dostane jejich hudba až do morku kostí. MORTUAL tohle všechno umí a přidávají i spoustu věcí navíc. Zajímavé mokvající pasáže, ostré riffy, shnilé melodie, zničující bicí i prašivinou nasáklý vokál. Tohle všechno, plus takové to nadšení pro poslední věci člověka před smrtí, krvavá jiskra a neodbytná touha zabíjet hudbou, dělají z nového alba "Altar of Brutality" doslova povinnost pro všechny pravověrné. Smrt má, jak je všeobecně známo, mnoho podob a tu kterou nám přinášejí tito maniaci z Costa Ricy, je morbidní, šílená, hnisavá a bolestivá. Jestli chcete poznat absolutní tmu a totální pravé, na kost ohlodané zlo, tak si tuhle desku určitě kupte. Pokud bychom měli nové album přirovnat k tvorbě nějakých dalších kapel, volili bychom jména jako SADISTIC INTENT, MONSTROSITY, MORBID ANGEL, DEICIDE, MORTEM, INCANTATION. Nad hřbitovem se opět jako zlé svědomí vznáší krvavá mlha. Nemrtví mezi sebou rozmlouvají a děsivý šepot je jasným důkazem toho, že tady se hraje reálný, opravdový, uvěřitelný a autentický smrtící kov. Už teď vím, že k téhle nahrávce se budu určitě rád a často vracet. Má totiž v sobě vše pro poctivé záhrobní rituály. Povedl se také zvuk (Mixed and mastered by Dan Lowndes at Resonance Sound Studio) i tajemný a temný motiv na obalu (Marcelo Almeida). Na závěr nezbývá, než napsat jediné - skvělá hrobnická práce, s krvavou aurou navíc! Pokaždé, když hledám odpovědi na otázky ohledně smrti, tak skončím na tomto hřbitově. Jsou na něm po staletí pohřbívána těla prokletých. Hnilobou a zkaženou krví nasáklý morbidní death metal, který vás pohřbí zaživa! Blasfemie, inferno, absolutní tma!

Every time I look for answers to questions about death, I end up at this cemetery. For centuries, the bodies of the damned have been buried here. The local gravedigger knows more about the afterlife than most people. This time, he led me to a tomb with the inscription MORTUAL above the entrance. I had been here once before, back in 2020, when the band released their EP "Divine Monstrosity." Even then, I knew that this was real, genuine death metal, played with a bloody spark in their eyes.
I went inside again this time when I got my hands on their new album released this year. It still reeks of rotten blood and a desire for necromancy. These maniacs don't mess around, they are blasphemous, wild, raw, and they will nail you to an inverted cross. So I have no choice but to turn up the volume and once again melt into the darkness.
I've been wandering through the underworld for almost 35 years and I still believe in darkness and absolute evil. I like it when I can trust a band's morbid work, when their music gets to me right down to my bones. MORTUAL can do all that and add a lot more. Interesting oozing passages, sharp riffs, rotten melodies, devastating drums, and vocals soaked in filth. All this, plus an enthusiasm for the last things a person does before death, a bloody spark, and an insistent desire to kill with music, make the new album "Altar of Brutality" a must for all true believers. Death, as is well known, has many forms, and the one brought to us by these maniacs from Costa Rica is morbid, insane, festering, and painful. If you want to experience absolute darkness and total, bone-gnawing evil, then definitely buy this album. If we were to compare the new album to the work of other bands, we would choose names such as SADISTIC INTENT, MONSTROSITY, MORBID ANGEL, DEICIDE, MORTEM, and INCANTATION. A bloody fog hovers over the cemetery like an evil conscience. The undead converse among themselves, and their terrifying whispers are clear proof that this is real, genuine, believable, and authentic death metal. I already know that I will gladly and often return to this recording. It has everything you need for honest afterlife rituals. The sound (mixed and mastered by Dan Lowndes at Resonance Sound Studio) and the mysterious and dark motif on the cover (Marcelo Almeida) are also well done. In conclusion, there is only one thing left to say - great gravedigger work, with a bloody aura to boot! Every time I look for answers to questions about death, I end up at this cemetery. The bodies of the damned have been buried here for centuries. Morbid death metal soaked in rot and corrupted blood that will bury you alive! Blasphemy, inferno, absolute darkness!
