Někdy se staré legendy, vyprávěné po generace, stanou krutou realitou. O bestii spící v hluboké jeskyni, jsem slýchával již jako malý. Strašili nás, abychom tam nikdy nechodili. Přesto jsem to udělal. Probuzen z noční můry mými vlastními démony, jsem stál najednou před vchodem a sledoval krvavou mlhu, která se vznášela všude kolem. Napětí, strach, vášeň, tajemno. Na uších jsem měl nové album italských black metalistů ORGREL a atmosféra byla velmi pochmurná. Vstoupil jsem dovnitř a připadal jsem si, jako bych se vrátil po časové ose zpět do svého mládí.
Tenkrát kapely sázely na dobré melodie, měly surový a chladný zvuk. ORGREL jakoby z té doby přišli, probudili se a vstali z plesnivých hrobů. Moje kosti obejmul chlad a z hlubin jsem uslyšel řev bestie. Bylo zcela jasné, že má hlad a potřebuje nakrmit. Fascinován melodiemi i celkovou atmosférou nahrávky, jsem se stal další z obětí. Jsem roztrhán na kusy a neustále přidávám volume doprava!
Líbí se mi, jakým způsobem jsou skladby napsány. Mám neodbytný pocit, že se mi postupně dostávají do krve. Podupávám si nohou do rytmu a ztrácím se v temnotách. Jsem starý metalový pes, který píše už jen o kapelách a nahrávkách, které ho osloví a užívá si je. Od ORGREL jsem si ihned sehnal i předchozí EP a album. Obojí mi pomohlo dotvořit celkový obraz o kapele. Ano, pánové hrají black metal v jeho tradiční, klasické podobě. Zbytečně neexperimentují, raději sází na silné melodie. Nutno rovnou dodat, že alespoň u mě, tenhle přístup funguje. Vše je zde uvěřitelné, opravdové, reálné, autentické. Jako bych stál na ranním hřbitově a naslouchal šepotu nemrtvých. Vyprávějí mi velmi podobné příběhy, jako tahle smečka. O bolesti a utrpení, o pradávných rituálech, o démonech i bestiích. Zlo je ukryté v každém z nás. Italové jej vzali a nechali je vyplout na povrch. Pokud máte rádi absolutní temnotu a s chutí trávíte svůj čas ve stínu, tak neváhejte ani chvilku. Hraje se zde hlavně pro vás i pro všechny prokleté. "The Abyssal Terror" je albem, na kterém se uctívají staré, poctivé, krvavé kořeny. Hoří zevnitř a na povrchu je zmrzlé jako srdce těch, co byli zavrženi. Každá kapela, kterou si pro sebe objevím, je pro mě velmi soukromou, niternou záležitostí. Zde mohu jen dodat, že mi bylo velkou ctí a na závěr musím vyseknout poklonu až k zemi. Sometimes old legends, passed down through generations, become cruel reality. I had heard stories about the beast sleeping in the deep cave since I was a child. They scared us into never going there. Yet I did. Awoken from a nightmare by my own demons, I suddenly found myself standing in front of the entrance, watching the bloody mist that hovered all around. Tension, fear, passion, mystery. I had the new album by Italian black metal band ORGREL in my ears, and the atmosphere was very gloomy. I went inside and felt as if I had traveled back in time to my youth.
Back then, bands relied on good melodies and had a raw and cold sound. ORGREL seemed to have come from that era, awakening and rising from moldy graves. A chill ran through my bones, and from the depths I heard the roar of a beast. It was clear that it was hungry and needed to be fed. Fascinated by the melodies and the overall atmosphere of the recording, I became another victim. I am torn to pieces and constantly turning up the volume to the right!
I like the way the songs are written. I have this nagging feeling that they are gradually getting under my skin. I tap my foot to the rhythm and lose myself in the darkness. I am an old metalhead who only writes about bands and recordings that appeal to him and that he enjoys. I immediately got hold of ORGREL's previous EP and album. Both helped me complete my overall picture of the band. Yes, these gentlemen play black metal in its traditional, classic form. They don't experiment unnecessarily, preferring to rely on strong melodies. I must add that, at least for me, this approach works. Everything here is believable, real, authentic. It's as if I were standing in a cemetery in the morning, listening to the whispers of the undead. They tell me stories very similar to those told by this band. About pain and suffering, about ancient rituals, about demons and beasts. Evil is hidden in each of us. The Italians took it and let it surface. If you like absolute darkness and enjoy spending your time in the shadows, don't hesitate for a moment. It is played mainly for you and for all the damned. "The Abyssal Terror" is an album that worships the old, honest, bloody roots. It burns from within and is frozen on the surface like the hearts of those who have been rejected. Every band I discover for myself is a very private, intimate matter for me. Here, I can only add that it was a great honor, and in conclusion, I must pay them a huge compliment.
