Cesta, kterou jsem dosud ušel, byla trnitá. Kolem ležely mrtvoly v různém stádiu rozkladu. S useknutými údy, s vyděšenými obličeji bez očí. Kdysi živí lidé se stali jenom kusem masa a potravou pro mrchožrouty. Kráčím dál, nasávám zkažený vzduch nasáklý sírou. Peklo jsem chtěl vidět celý svůj nebohý život. Byl jsem zvědavý, již dlouho se ukrývám ve stínu, ale realita je o hodně krutější, syrovější a temnější. Stejně jako nové album australských démonů TEMPLE NIGHTSIDE. Kapely, která vás opět provede těmi nejhrůznějšími zákoutími podsvětí.
Je něco zvířecího, živočišného, jeskynního, co mě pokaždé k téhle kapele doslova přikove. I letos má na mě jejich nové album doslova uhrančivý účinek. Připadám si jako na nějakém pradávném záhrobním rituálu pro vyvolávání temných sil. Satan sedí na svém trůnu a usmívá se. Není divu, hraje se zde hlavně pro něj. Mnohé napoví již stylový motiv na obalu, který považuji za opravdu velmi povedený.
Surový, hnusný a prašivý death metal se zde potkává s chladem black metalu. Výsledkem je nahrávka, která nejvíce vynikne ve starých katakombách, na prokletých pohřebištích, na místech, kde byly pořádány krvavé ceremonie. Je něco záhadného, nebál bych se napsat magického, co mě nutí se neustále k albu vracet a rvát si jej pod tlakem do hlavy. Smrt je při poslechu opravdu velmi blízko, kapela do mě zasekla svůj dráp a už mě nepustila. Skladby jsou napsány velmi přesvědčivě, uvěřitelně, ryze, autenticky. Pokud máte rádi smečky typu GRAVE MISMA, DEAD CONGREGATION, VASSAFOR, PORTAL, IMPIETY, ARCHGOAT, ANGELCORPSE, DIOCLETIAN, ULCERATE, FATHER BEFOULED, CRUCIAMENTUM, určitě si oblíbíte i "Cenotaph Severance". Sestoupíte spolu s touhle kapelou hluboko do podzemí, stanete se obětí a potravou pradávné bestie ze starých časů, která dlouhé roky spala v podzemí. Až tohle album ji probudilo. Touží po čerstvém mase. Líbí se mi, že má novinka v sobě tlak, nakumulovanou energii, vztek, ale nezapomnělo se ani na hnilobně podmanivou atmosféru. TEMPLE NIGHTSIDE jsou i letos ve skvělé formě. Roztrhají vás na kusy, zničí vás, pohřbí zaživa a provedou vás peklem. Brána byla opět otevřena. Démoni se vrátili, aby se mohli pomstít. Cesta, kterou jsem dosud ušel, byla trnitá. The path I’ve traveled so far has been arduous. Corpses in various stages of decomposition lay all around me with severed limbs, terrified faces, and no eyes. People who were once alive had become nothing more than pieces of meat and food for scavengers. I keep walking, breathing in the foul air saturated with sulfur. I’ve wanted to see Hell my whole wretched life. I was curious I’ve been hiding in the shadows for so long but reality is far crueler, rawer, and darker. Just like the new album by the Australian demons TEMPLE NIGHTSIDE. A band that will once again guide you through the most terrifying corners of the underworld.
There’s something animalistic, primal, and cavernous that literally draws me in every time I hear this band. Their new album has a truly mesmerizing effect on me this year as well. I feel like I’m at some ancient underworld ritual to summon dark forces. Satan sits on his throne and smiles. No wonder they’re playing mainly for him here. The stylish cover art, which I consider truly excellent, already hints at a lot.
Raw, vile, and filthy death metal meets the coldness of black metal here. The result is a recording that really comes into its own in ancient catacombs, in cursed burial grounds, in places where bloody ceremonies were once held. There’s something mysterious I wouldn’t hesitate to call it magical that compels me to keep coming back to this album and force it into my head. Death feels very close while listening; the band has sunk its claws into me and won’t let go. The songs are written in a very compelling, believable, pure, and authentic way. If you like bands like GRAVE MISMA, DEAD CONGREGATION, VASSAFOR, PORTAL, IMPIETY, ARCHGOAT, ANGELCORPSE, DIOCLETIAN, ULCERATE, FATHER BEFOULED, CRUCIAMENTUM, you’re sure to love “Cenotaph Severance” as well. You’ll descend deep underground with this band, becoming the victim and prey of an ancient beast from days of old that has slept underground for many years. It was this album that awakened it. They crave fresh flesh. I love that this new release is full of intensity, pent-up energy, and rage, yet it doesn’t neglect that captivating, putrid atmosphere. TEMPLE NIGHTSIDE are in top form again this year. They’ll tear you to pieces, destroy you, bury you alive, and drag you through hell. The gate has been opened once more.
