Od malička si byl jiný. Nejdřív to působilo roztomile. Ten kluk se šibalskýma očima, říkali o tobě. Pak se začaly v okolí ztrácet zvířata. Lidé je nacházeli pověšené na stromech, umučené. Jako mladý si poprvé vraždil a vydrželo ti to až do stáří. Prožil si život plný vášně a mrtvých pohledů. Miloval si, když oběti trpěly, když se ti dívaly do očí. Jde z tebe strach i po smrti. Ležíš tu na studeném stole, v márnici s ostatními a všichni moc dobře víme, že během noci se staneš démonem. Třetí album švédských maniaků XORSIST je plné zvrácených melodií, ostrých riffů a touhy zabíjet hudbou.
Vše je zde ohlodané na kost, přesně tak, jak si to nepsané death metalové zákony žádají. Pánové hrají přesně podle dávno zavedených šablon. Ale dělají to velmi elegantně, zajímavě a pokud máte tuhle odrůdu smrti rádi, tak budete určitě spokojeni jako já. Doporučuji naprostou tmu a chlad, potom vynikne nové album nejvíce. Démoni stojí ve stínu a čekají na čerstvou krev.
Kapela se pohybuje ve velmi přesně vymezených mantinelech. Volně se inspirovala u smeček jako GRAVE, NIHILIST, ENTRAILS, DISMEMBER, ENTOMBED. Smrt je při poslechu velmi blízko, nemrtví tančí na svých vlastních hrobech a vy tak máte, ostatně jako vždy dvě možnosti, buď přistoupit na tuhle nečistou hru a nebo utíkat pryč. Osobně jsem s novým albem velmi spokojený a rád se k němu vracím. Obsahuje v sobě totiž potřebnou dávku tlaku, energie, ryzosti, opravdovosti a naprosté autenticity. XORSIST se sice nesnaží změnit styl, ani nepřinášejí nic nového, ale rozhodně se nejedná jen o dobré řemeslo. Myslím si, že my staří psi, to už dávno poznáme. Když sedíme před reproduktory a čerpáme sílu ze záhrobí, tak buď dojde ke vzájemnému přenosu mrtvolných a morbidních emocí a nebo nikoliv. "Aberrations" je přesně tím druhem alba, které se vám zařízne rovnou pod kůži i do podvědomí. Najednou si začnete podupávat nohou do rytmu, mlátit hlavou do zdi a hlavou vám bude létat spousta nejen nostalgických vzpomínek. Tihle Švédi na to jdou velmi dobře, nezapomněli ani na precizně ošetřený zvuk (Fredrik Folkare - mixing, mastering) i zajímavý a stylový motiv na obalu (autorem je James Campbell). Zkrátka a dobře, kapela je i na své třetí dlouhohrající nahrávce ve velmi dobré formě a nelze jinak, než ji doporučit všem tmářům. Až zase jednou budete trávit noc ve staré prašivé márnici, tak si album vezměte určitě s sebou. Každý mrtvý má za sebou příběh plný bolesti a utrpení. Téhle smečce se tohle všechno podařilo smíchat ve velmi zajímavý a jedovatý koktejl. Stačí se jenom napít a uslyšíte sami. Vážení a milí hrobníci, tohle je hudba přesně pro vás. Démoni stojí ve stínu a čekají na čerstvou krev. Stačí je jenom pozvat dál. Syrová a temná esence starého švédského death metalu! Album, které zabíjí na potkání!

You were different from the moment you were born. At first, it seemed cute. “That boy with the mischievous eyes,” they used to say about you. Then animals started disappearing from the neighborhood. People found them hanging from trees, tortured to death. You committed your first murder as a young man, and you kept it up until old age. You lived a life full of passion and dead stares. You loved it when your victims suffered, when they looked into your eyes. You still inspire fear even after death. You lie here on a cold table, in the morgue with the others, and we all know very well that during the night you will become a demon. The third album by the Swedish maniacs XORSIST is full of twisted melodies, sharp riffs, and a desire to kill with music.
Everything here is stripped down to the bone, exactly as the unwritten laws of death metal demand. The guys play exactly according to long-established formulas. But they do it very elegantly, interestingly, and if you like this variety of death metal, you’ll definitely be as satisfied as I am. I recommend complete darkness and cold that’s when the new album shines the brightest. The demons stand in the shadows, waiting for fresh blood.
The band operates within very clearly defined boundaries. They drew loose inspiration from bands like GRAVE, NIHILIST, ENTRAILS, DISMEMBER, and ENTOMBED. Death feels very close while listening; the undead dance on their own graves, and so you have as always two options: either join this unclean game or run away. Personally, I’m very satisfied with the new album and enjoy returning to it. It contains the necessary dose of intensity, energy, purity, sincerity, and absolute authenticity. XORSIST may not be trying to change their style, nor are they bringing anything new to the table, but this is definitely more than just good craftsmanship. I think we old hands can tell that a long time ago. When we sit in front of the speakers and draw strength from beyond the grave, either a mutual transfer of deathly and morbid emotions takes place, or it doesn’t. "Aberrations" is exactly the kind of album that cuts right under your skin and into your subconscious. Suddenly, you’ll start tapping your foot to the beat, banging your head against the wall, and your mind will be flooded with more than just nostalgic memories. These Swedes really know what they’re doing; they haven’t overlooked the meticulously crafted sound (Fredrik Folkare – mixing, mastering) or the interesting and stylish cover art (by James Campbell). In short, the band is in top form on their third full-length album, and I can’t help but recommend it to all fans of the dark arts. The next time you spend the night in an old, dilapidated morgue, be sure to take this album with you. Every dead person has a story behind them, full of pain and suffering. This bunch has managed to blend all of this into a very interesting and poisonous cocktail. Just take a sip and you’ll hear for yourselves. Dear and beloved gravediggers, this is the music for you. Demons stand in the shadows, waiting for fresh blood. All you have to do is invite them in. The raw and dark essence of old-school Swedish death metal! An album that kills on sight!
