Potřeboval jsem se zastavit. Zklidnit a zpomalit všechny své životní funkce. O samotě, v chladném sklepě, bez světla, jenom já a hudba. Tentokrát jsem zvolil berlínské death metalisty DEHUMAN REIGN. Kapelu, která je naplno oddána stínům. Každé jejich nové album je pro mě takovou malou událostí. Nejedná se totiž jenom o dnes tak častou kopii věcí minulých, ale o propracovaný kov smrti, s jasným poselstvím a účelem. Strhnou vás do podzemí. Do Hádovy říše.
Mám pocit, že ke mě z reproduktorů vytéká zkažená krev. Jasné a zřetelné melodie, mnohdy komplikovanější kompozice, parádně ošetřený zvuk. Tohle je nahrávka pro posluchače, kteří mají bohatou fantazii a rádi ochutnávají zkažené maso podávané na víku od rakve. Základem je tradiční, klasický death metal, do kterého jsou potom přidávány vlastní nápady a invence. Zároveň se novinka velmi dobře poslouchá. Co bude, až zemřeme? Ptám se do tmy a přidávám postupně hlasitost.
Fanoušci třeba takových MONSTROSITY, IMMOLATION, DEATH, SUFFOCATION. DEICIDE, MORBID ANGEL, kterými se tahle smečka volně inspirovala, mi dají asi za pravdu, že je nové album povedené po všech stránkách. Líbí se mi přístup kapely k muzice jako takové, způsob, jakým píšou nové skladby. Je slyšet, vnímám to opravdu celým svým tělem, že pánové pevně věří tomu, co hrají. Zároveň (a na to se bohužel v dnešní době zapomíná), mají talent na to, předat svojí hudbou poselství. O temných filozofických tématech, o smrti samotné. Užívám si jednotlivé melodie i odkazy na thrash metal, líbí se mi, jak si kapela hraje s náladami. Jako šelma se svojí kořistí. Je něco neklidného, zároveň přitažlivého, co mě nutí se vracet a i když mám kolem sebe spoustu dalších nahrávek, tak po krátkém přemýšlení, opět a znovu volím "Dawn of a Malefic Dominion". Hudba tu plyne tak nějak samozřejmě, lehce i těžce zároveň, je zahraná s elegancí starých mistrů v oboru. V berlínském podsvětí vznikla nahrávka, kterou ocení každý, kdo má tenhle mrtvolný styl rád. Je totiž něco zvláštního, jakási pradávná síla, temná energie, které jsou v albu obsaženy. Pevně věřím, doufám, že uvidím kapelu někdy naživo. Musí se jednat o silný zážitek. Nezbývá mi nic jiného, než vám tuhle desku doporučit. Jako starý pes, který hlídá vstup do podzemí již několik desetiletí, dávám novince vysokou známku kvality. A teď už mě prosím nechte, zapínám znovu play a ocitám se v jiných děsivějších dimenzích. Potřebuji se znovu zastavit. Zklidnit a zpomalit všechny své životní funkce. O samotě, v chladném sklepě, bez světla, jenom já a hudba. Intenzivní, uvěřitelný, reálný, propracovaný death metal postavený na temných morbidních základech! Budete strženi do hlubiny!

I needed to stop. To calm down and slow down all my vital functions. Alone, in a cold basement, without light, just me and the music. This time I chose the Berlin death metalists DEHUMAN REIGN. A band that is fully devoted to the shadows. Each of their new albums is a small event for me. It's not just a copy of past works, which is so common today, but sophisticated death metal with a clear message and purpose. They pull you underground. Into Hades' realm.
I feel like rotten blood is flowing out of my speakers. Clear and distinct melodies, often more complex compositions, superbly crafted sound. This is a recording for listeners who have a rich imagination and like to taste rotten meat served on a coffin lid. The basis is traditional, classic death metal, to which the band adds their own ideas and inventions. At the same time, the new album is very easy to listen to. What will happen when we die? I ask into the darkness and gradually turn up the volume.
Fans of bands such as MONSTROSITY, IMMOLATION, DEATH, SUFFOCATION, DEICIDE, and MORBID ANGEL, which this band has freely drawn inspiration from, will probably agree with me that the new album is a success in every respect. I like the band's approach to music as such, the way they write new songs. You can hear, I can really feel it with my whole body, that these guys firmly believe in what they play. At the same time (and this is unfortunately forgotten nowadays), they have a talent for conveying a message through their music. About dark philosophical themes, about death itself. I enjoy the individual melodies and references to thrash metal, I like how the band plays with moods. Like a beast with its prey. There is something unsettling yet attractive that keeps me coming back, and even though I have plenty of other recordings around me, after a moment's thought, I choose "Dawn of a Malefic Dominion" again and again. The music flows naturally, light and heavy at the same time, played with the elegance of the old masters of the genre. A recording was created in the Berlin underworld that will be appreciated by anyone who likes this corpse-like style. There is something special, a kind of ancient power, a dark energy contained in the album. I firmly believe and hope that I will see the band live someday. It must be a powerful experience. I have no choice but to recommend this album to you. As an old dog who has been guarding the entrance to the underground for several decades, I give this new release a high mark for quality. And now, please leave me alone, I'm turning on the play button again and finding myself in other, more terrifying dimensions. I need to stop again. Calm down and slow down all my vital functions. Alone, in a cold basement, without light, just me and the music. Intense, believable, realistic, sophisticated death metal built on dark, morbid foundations! You will be dragged into the depths!
