Tuhle smečku sleduji od jejich počátků. Poprvé jsem je viděl v malém zaplivaném klubu u nás ve městě. Na koncertě jsme byli čtyři (odkaz na report i na recenze naleznete dole pod článkem). Přesto do toho pánové dali všechno a já jsem si tenkrát uvědomil, že je to v podstatě svým přístupem velká kapela. Myslím si, že má slova vizionáře historie jenom potvrzuje. Dnes BEAST hrají na stadionech a mají úspěch. Nutno rovnou říci, že zasloužený.

Důvody se samy nabízejí. Jejich muzika je skvěle zahraná, jiná, svěží, hravá. Čerpají jak ze starého švédského death metalu, tak letos i z rocku, který vám vaši rodiče pouštěli na starých vinylech. Šokující? Ale kdepak. Nové album se skvělé poslouchá, má v sobě potřebný drive a sílu. Pořád lepší, než jen kopírovat notoricky známé postupy. BAEST to sice dělají také, ale s grácií, nadhledem a elegancí. Hele brácho, pořád mě to nutí přidávat hlasitost. Novinka mě baví moc.

Základem jsou jako vždy silné melodie a dobré nápady. To vše samozřejmě s velmi dobrým zvukem v zádech a motivem na obalu, který rozhodně zaujme. Skvělé je, že se pořád něco děje, kapela vás nenechá ani chvilku vydechnout. Album má spád, velké množství nakumulované energie i pověstný drive. Nevím jak vy, ale já to zkrátka nevydržím. Nemůžu jen tak v klidu sedět, aniž bych si nepodupával nohou, nehrozil rukou a nemával hlavou v headbangingu. Je mi tak nějak jedno, že jsem zrovna v tramvaji a lidé na mě koukají, že jsem blázen. Říkám to opět a znovu, tahle nahrávka řeže tou správnou stranou nože. Pánové mají talent na to zajmout, strhnout mě do hlubiny. Živé koncerty jsou vždy vynikající a úplně vidím sám sebe, i přes můj již trošku pokročilý věk, jak stojí uprostřed fanoušků a nebo skáču z pódia. BAEST jsou i letos jako odjištěný granát, který vám dají na ulici do rukou. Raz, dva tři, výbuch! Přesně takhle na mě songy působí. A je mi jedno, že jsou volně inspirovány třeba takovými DISMEMBER, ENTOMBED, nebo klidně i LED ZEPPELIN. Tohle je rock s velkým R a metal, který mě neskutečně baví. Pojďme se bavit o tom, co máte na muzice rádi? Já chci tančit v ulicích, smát se na hezký holky, popíjet pivo z kelímku a pařit jako o závod. "Colossal" ve mě všechny tyhle emoce probouzí a já nemůžu jinak, než vám za moji maličkost novinku doporučit. Nalejete mi prosím někdo nějaký alkohol? Recenzi píšu v pátek a do konce směny mi zbývá už jen pár hodin. Poběžím domů, obléknu si džínovou vestu a pokud bude tahle kapela hrát někde poblíž, určitě vyrazím. Pokud ne, tak si dám pár piv a užiju si znovu tenhle zásek přímo do živého. Novinka je totiž opravdu skvělá! Death metalové album po okraj narvané tlakem, energií, skvělými melodiemi i touhou řvát do tmy!

I have been following this band since their beginnings. I first saw them in a small, dingy club in our town. There were four of us at the concert (you can find a link to the report and reviews below the article). Nevertheless, the guys gave it their all, and I realized then that they were essentially a great band in terms of their approach. I think that my words as a visionary of history are only confirmed. Today, BEAST plays in stadiums and is successful. It must be said that this success is well deserved.

The reasons are obvious. Their music is superbly played, different, fresh, and playful. They draw on both old Swedish death metal and, this year, rock that your parents used to play on old vinyl records. Shocking? Not at all. The new album is great to listen to, with the necessary drive and power. It's still better than just copying well-known techniques. BAEST does that too, but with grace, perspective, and elegance. Hey, bro, it still makes me want to turn up the volume. I really enjoy the new album.

As always, the foundation is strong melodies and good ideas. All of this, of course, with very good sound in the background and a cover design that is sure to catch your eye. The great thing is that there is always something going on; the band doesn't let you catch your breath for a moment. The album has momentum, a lot of accumulated energy, and the famous drive. I don't know about you, but I just can't stand it. I can't just sit there calmly without tapping my foot, waving my hands, and headbanging. I don't really care that I'm on the tram and people are looking at me like I'm crazy. I'll say it again and again, this recording cuts with the right side of the knife. These guys have a talent for captivating me, pulling me into the depths. Their live concerts are always excellent, and I can totally see myself, despite my slightly advanced age, standing in the middle of the fans or jumping off the stage. BAEST are like a live grenade that they hand you on the street. One, two, three, explosion! That's exactly how the songs affect me. And I don't care that they are loosely inspired by bands such as DISMEMBER, ENTOMBED, or even LED ZEPPELIN. This is rock with a capital R and metal that I really enjoy. Let's talk about what you like about music. I want to dance in the streets, smile at pretty girls, drink beer from a cup, and party like there's no tomorrow. "Colossal" awakens all these emotions in me, and I can't help but recommend this new release to you. Would someone please pour me some alcohol? I'm writing this review on Friday, and I only have a few hours left until the end of my shift. I'm going to run home, put on my denim vest, and if this band is playing somewhere nearby, I'll definitely go. If not, I'll have a few beers and enjoy this hit straight to the heart again. This new release is really great! A death metal album packed to the brim with pressure, energy, great melodies, and the desire to scream into the darkness!
