Zrozeni v bolestech a krvi pochodujeme dál, vstříc kruté smrti. Když se ohlédneme za sebe, tak zjistíme, že svět je stále zahalený do temnoty a zla. Budoucnost nám žádnou naději nedává. S hudbou slovenských maniaků REALMS OF CHAOS to mám nastavené hodně podobně. Na jedné straně se vždy jedná o velmi dobře odvedené řemeslo, na té druhé se každým albem prolíná taková zvláštní temná a krvavá linka. Jakoby se pokaždé, když jejich hudbu poslouchám, zatáhlo celé nebe, mraky byly nízko a smrt zase jednou s děsivým úsměvem kráčela ulicemi.

V současné době je na světě spousta kapel, které umí perfektně hrát, jsou dokonalé v tom, co dělají, přesto jim chybí něco navíc. Něco, co právě slovenští maniaci mají. Je to určitá porce živočišnosti, zvířeckosti, divokosti. Na letošní novince se kapela opět posouvá o kousek dál, do větší temnoty, zla a hnusu. Skladby jsou velmi dobře napsány, mají v sobě potřebný drive a sílu, tlak, takovou tu pradávnou bestiální energii, kterou máme všichni u reálných, opravdových a autentických death metalových kapel rádi. Nové album hoří zevnitř a spálí vás na popel. 


Pánové volně čerpají z nejlepších nahrávek kapel jako HATE ETERNAL, IMMOLATION, ORIGIN, SUFFOCATION, MORBID ANGEL, případně BEHEMOTH v jejich smrtícím období. Samozřejmě, kapela přidává velkou spoustu svých vlastních nápadů a invence. Základem je zde velmi masivní, surový, dobře čitelný a živočišný zvuk, pod kterým je podepsán Miroslav Spevák. Nelze jinak, než napsat -  skvělá práce! Osobně se mi líbí i motiv na obalu, který krásně doplňuje celkovou pochmurnou atmosféru celé nahrávky. Autorem je Dominika (Dhomth). Po formální stránce je vše v nejlepším pořádku a můžeme se tak v klidu soustředit na nápady samotné. Těch je na albu opravdu velké množství. Zařezávají se mi hluboko do mozku, do vnitřností, postupně se stávají i mojí součástí. Jsem jako prokletý, jako by mi kapela stála po celou dobu poslechu okovanou botou na prsou a tlačila na mě, dokud nevydechnu naposledy. Na REALMS OF CHAOS se mi vždy líbilo (a letos tomu není jinak), že dokáží velice umně a zkušeně kombinovat surovost s černou a chladnou atmosférou. Pak je tu ještě jedna věc, na kterou se poměrně často zapomíná. Nové album "Torment of Belligerence" se opravdu velmi dobře poslouchá, při každém novém setkání objevuji další ostré a drásavé momenty, pasáže, kousky nahrubo nasekaného zla. Slovenští bardi jsou letos ve skvělé formě a opět potvrzují svoji pozici na scéně. A dělají to velmi hlasitě, nespoutaně a uvěřitelně. Zrozeni v bolestech a krvi pochodujeme dál, vstříc kruté smrti. Když se ohlédneme za sebe, tak zjistíme, že svět je stále zahalený do temnoty a zla. Budoucnost nám žádnou naději nedává. Zničující, do krvavé tmy zahalené, surové death metalové album, které vás spálí zevnitř! Potkáte své vlastní démony!

Born in pain and blood, we march onward toward a cruel death. When we look back, we see that the world is still shrouded in darkness and evil. The future offers us no hope. I feel much the same way about the music of Slovakian maniacs REALMS OF CHAOS. On the one hand, it is always a very well-done craft, on the other hand, each album is permeated with a strange dark and bloody line. It's as if every time I listen to their music, the whole sky darkens, the clouds are low, and death once again walks the streets with a terrifying smile.

There are a lot of bands in the world today that can play perfectly, are perfect at what they do, yet they lack that extra something. Something that these Slovakian maniacs have. It's a certain amount of animalism, wildness, ferocity. On this year's new album, the band moves a step further into greater darkness, evil, and filth. The songs are very well written, they have the necessary drive and power, pressure, that ancient beastly energy that we all love in real, genuine, and authentic death metal bands. The new album burns from within and will reduce you to ashes. 


The gentlemen freely draw from the best recordings of bands such as HATE ETERNAL, IMMOLATION, ORIGIN, SUFFOCATION, MORBID ANGEL, and BEHEMOTH in their deadly period. Of course, the band adds a lot of their own ideas and inventions. The basis here is a very massive, raw, clear, and animalistic sound, created by Miroslav Spevák. There is no other way to describe it than to say - great work! Personally, I also like the cover art, which beautifully complements the overall gloomy atmosphere of the entire recording. The author is Dominika (Dhomth). Formally, everything is in order, so we can calmly focus on the ideas themselves. There are a lot of them on the album. They cut deep into my brain, into my guts, gradually becoming a part of me. I feel cursed, as if the band had been standing on my chest with a steel-toed boot the entire time I was listening, pressing down on me until I breathed my last breath. What I've always liked about REALMS OF CHAOS (and this year is no different) is that they are able to skillfully and expertly combine rawness with a dark and cold atmosphere. Then there's one more thing that's often overlooked. The new album "Torment of Belligerence" is really very enjoyable to listen to, and with each new encounter I discover more sharp and harrowing moments, passages, pieces of roughly chopped evil. The Slovak bards are in great form this year and once again confirm their position on the scene. And they do it very loudly, unrestrainedly, and believably. A devastating, bloody darkness-shrouded, raw death metal album that will burn you from the inside! You will meet your own demons!

Dlouho si myslela, že když si podřízne žíly, tak přejde na druhou stranu, do země nekonečných stínů. Že už bude mít navěky klid a nic ji nebude bolet. Jenže opak je pravdou. V záhrobí zažila jenom strach a utrpení. Existuje jenom temnota, absolutní zlo a nekonečné deprese. Alespoň takhle vnímám nové album německých black metalistů HÄXENZIJRKELL já. Je krvavým otiskem našeho zkaženého svědomí. A také hudbou, kterou když jsem slyšel poprvé, tak mě zaujala v celém svém rozsahu.

Skladby plynou kupředu jako řeka beznaděje. Opakováním riffů je umocněna melancholie, krvavá mlha, které vás během poslechu ihned obklopí. O podobných nahrávkách je velmi těžké psát, uchopit je slovy. Lepší je opravdu zavřít všechna okna, zhasnout světlo a nechat na sebe skladby jen tak působit. A potom si udělat vlastní názor. Osobně jsem "Portal" poslouchal nejraději velmi brzy ráno, když město ještě spalo. V kolika oknech stojí někdo, kdo drží v ruce žiletku? Kdo chce přejít na druhou stranu? 


Album na mě působí jako nějaká pradávná mantra. Jako mlha, která vás obejme pokaždé, když se vydáte na hřbitov. Najednou nesedím u svého přehrávače, ale moje nebohá duše se toulá po lesích, sleduje šelmy lovících za šerosvitu, navštěvuje starodávné chrámy, nasává pach smrti, otištěný do zdí. Procházím se za oponou, sám se svým svědomím. Black metal má mnoho podob a Němci se zhlédli v jeho pomalejší, atmosférické podobě. Nálady kolem mě létají jako můry kolem ohně. Uvnitř jednotlivých pasáží a vlastně i celé desky, je takový zvláštní, těžko definovatelný neklid. V některých momentech je album až "nepříjemné". Neustále jsem se ohlížel za sebe, jestli za mnou někdo nestojí. Líbí se mi zvuk, obal i velmi elegantní a dobře zahrané ambientní a progresivní prvky, které jsou vloženy v jednotlivých motivech. HÄXENZIJRKELL  a jejich letošní novinka na mě mají až hypnotický účinek. Každý poslech je pro mě obřadem, rituálem, který si rád a s chutí vychutnám. Není to asi hudba pro každého, protože dle mého úsudku vyžaduje velké soustředění a do temných barev zahalenou fantazii, ale to asi ani nebylo účelem. Němci jsou jako zaříkávači, jako našeptávači, které potkáte v ranní mlze. Podají vám své chladné ruce a pozvou vás na dlouhou cestu bez konce. Mezi nebem a zemí je spousta věcí, které nedokážeme pochopit. "Portal" je nahrávkou, která vám na ně sice nedá odpovědi, ale rozhodně rozdrásá vaši duši do krve. Jedná se o velmi zvláštní a povedenou záležitost. Pokud máte tenhle styl rádi, tak rozhodně doporučuji. Existuje jenom temnota, absolutní zlo a nekonečné deprese. Black metal plný napětí, melancholie, strachu a beznaděje!

She had long thought that if she cut her veins, she would cross over to the other side, to the land of endless shadows. That she'd be at peace forever and nothing would hurt. But the opposite was true. In the afterlife, she experienced only fear and suffering. There is only darkness, absolute evil and endless depression. At least this is how I perceive the new album of German black metallers HÄXENZIJRKELL. It is a bloody imprint of our corrupted conscience. And also music that when I heard it for the first time, it captivated me in its entirety.

The songs flow forward like a river of despair. The melancholy is enhanced by the repetition of the riffs, a bloody fog that immediately envelops you as you listen. It is very difficult to write about records like this, to grasp them in words. It's better to really close all the windows, turn off the lights and let the songs just affect you. And then make up your own mind. Personally, my favourite time to listen to "Portal" was very early in the morning, when the city was still asleep. How many windows does someone stand in holding a razor blade? Who wants to cross over to the other side? 


The album strikes me as some ancient mantra. Like a fog that embraces you every time you go to the cemetery. Suddenly I'm not sitting at my record player, but my poor soul is wandering the woods, watching beasts hunt in the twilight, visiting ancient temples, taking in the smell of death imprinted on the walls. I walk behind the curtain, alone with my conscience. Black metal takes many forms, and the Germans have seen themselves in its slower, atmospheric form. Moods fly around me like moths around a fire. Within each passage, and indeed the whole album, there is a strange, hard-to-define restlessness. In some moments the album is almost "unpleasant". I kept looking behind me to see if anyone was behind me. I like the sound, the cover art and the very elegant and well played ambient and progressive elements that are embedded in each motif. HÄXENZIJRKELL and their new release this year have an almost hypnotic effect on me. Every listen is a rite of passage for me, a ritual that I enjoy and savour with gusto. It's probably not music for everyone, because in my judgement it requires great concentration and an imagination shrouded in dark colours, but that was probably not the point. The Germans are like whisperers, like whisperers you meet in the morning mist. They will offer you their cold hands and invite you on a long journey without end. There are many things between heaven and earth that we cannot understand. "Portal" is a record that won't give you the answers, but it will definitely tear your soul to the core. It is a very strange and hilarious affair. If you like this style, I definitely recommend it. There is only darkness, absolute evil and endless depression. Black metal full of tension, melancholy, fear and hopelessness!
