Původně to vypadalo na klidnou letní noc. Komáři štípali, ale bylo příjemně teplo a nebe bylo jasné. Pak se do tmy ozval šíleny skřek. Řev raněného zvířete. Lekl jsem se a vydal se za zvukem. Uprostřed cesty, kousek od našeho domu, ležel mladý muž. Vyděšený výraz ve tváři, roztržené, prokousnuté hrdlo. Ohledám místo činu a zjistím, že jsem se stal svědkem lovu. Jenom se místo štvané zvěře stal obětí člověk. Mocní a zvrácení a jejich hnusné hry. Není před nimi úniku.

Jako štvaná zvěř jsem se cítil i při poslechu první dlouhohrající desky amerických death metalistů NEOLITHIC. Surové skladby mě přenesly do hlubokého lesa, kde za každým stromem čeká nebezpečí. Poslouchal jsem album nějaký čas a pokaždé jsem končil s prokousnutým hrdlem. Sype to pěkně!


Pokud máte rádi smrtící kov v jeho neotesané, syrové podobě, tak neváhejte ani chvilku. Tlak, energie, temnota, špína a chlad, to jsou hlavní znaky celé nahrávky. NEOLITHIC jsou jako rozjetý vlak, který k nám přijel rovnou z pekla. Mám sto chutí bouchnout do stolu a jít si to vyřídit se všemi hajzly na světě. Samozřejmě to myslím s nadsázkou, ale prostým faktem je, že mi pokaždé podobné kapely dokáží vlít do žil velké množství nakumulovaného vzteku. Odkazuje se zde na severské smečky, na to nejlepší z undergroundu. "Shattering Vessels" vás roztrhá na kusy. Budete zavřeni do tmavé kobky, přikováni ke zdi a mučeni stejným způsobem, jako se to stále děje v různých koutech našeho zkaženého světa. Když potom uslyšíte z reproduktorů tuhle nahrávku, řetězy roztrhnete a rozkopnete mříže. Stanete se predátorem, ničitelem a pomstíte se za všechny příkoří, které vám kdo způsobil. Oceňuji zvuk, s chutí se dívám na obal. Američané vydali komplexní dílo, které by nemělo chybět ve sbírce žádného fanouška podobných záležitostí. Songy doslova žhnou a pálí, jsou kusem rozžhaveného železa, které vám někdo hodí znenadání do ruky. Tohle je devastace v přímém přenosu, po "Shattering Vessels" zůstává jen spálená země. Masivní death crustová exploze!

Originally, it looked like a quiet summer night. The mosquitoes were biting, but it was pleasantly warm and the sky was clear. Then a mad screech echoed into the darkness. The roar of a wounded animal. I cowered and followed the sound. In the middle of the road, not far from our house, lay a young man. A terrified look on his face, and his throat ripped open. I look around the scene and find I've witnessed a hunt. Only instead of a hunted animal, the victim was a man. The powerful and the depraved and their dirty games. There's no escape from them.

I felt like a hunted animal when listening to the first long-playing album of American death metallers NEOLITHIC. The raw songs transported me to a deep forest where danger waits behind every tree. I listened to the album for some time and each time I ended up with a bitten throat. It's nice!


If you like death metal in its uncut, raw form, don't hesitate a moment. Pressure, energy, darkness, dirt, and coldness are the main features of the whole record. NEOLITHIC is like a runaway train that came to us straight from hell. I feel like slamming the table and going to deal with all the bastards in the world. Of course, I mean that with hyperbole, but the simple fact is that bands like this always manage to pour a lot of accumulated rage into my veins. The reference here is to the Nordic packs, to the best of the underground. "Shattering Vessels" will tear you apart. You'll be locked in a dark dungeon, chained to a wall, and tortured in the same way that still happens in various corners of our corrupt world. Then when you hear this recording coming out of the speakers, you'll break the chains and kick the bars. You will become a predator, a destroyer, and you will avenge all the wrongs that have been done to you. I appreciate the sound, I'm looking forward to the cover. The Americans have released a comprehensive work that should not be missing in any fan's collection of such matters. The songs literally glow and burn, a piece of red-hot iron that someone throws at you out of the blue. This is devastation in the flesh, after "Shattering Vessels" all that's left is scorched earth. A massive death crust explosion!

Nevím, kdy vše vniklo, ale rozdíly se začaly postupně stírat. Mezi naším a oním světem. Mezi realitou a přízraky. V lidech bylo až příliš zla a nenávisti. Bratr nesnášel bratra, synové své otce. Kvůli drobnostem se začaly vést nesmyslné války. Občas bylo možné zahlédnout v pozadí usměvavého pána, který si všeobecné inferno neskutečně užíval. Jedno z převtělení pána pekel. Už nikdo nepracoval, nemiloval, nežil. Všem tekla krev.

Podobné apokalyptické a nihilistické pocity mám i z nového EP španělských death metalistů SEPULCHRAL. Ti se také po celou dobu pohybují na ostré a tenké hranici. Špatný život nebo smrt, vyberte si sami. Stačí, když dáte převozníkovi minci. Kapela hraje hodně surově, ošklivě, temně a chladně. 


Pro pochopení desky se musíme vydat do starých prašivých časů, když bylo vydáno debutové album ENTOMBED "Beyond the Burial Mound". Řekl bych, že inspirací byly nejen švédské death metalové kapely, ale i ty tradiční, americké. Je to v závěru jedno, hlavní je cíl, kterého pánové dosáhli. Pokud jste někdy kopali hluboký hrob, určitě víte, o čem mluvím. SEPULCHRAL se s tím nemažou, lámou kosti bez varování. Tančí na hrobech, vysmívají se církvi svaté, jsou neurvalí, šílení, divocí a maniakální. "From Beyond The Burial Mound" lze s klidem doporučit všem, kteří rádi objevují nové smečky se starým feelingem a patinou. Pokaždé, když jsem odděloval maso od kostí, tak jsem si na tuhle skupinu vzpomněl. Jedná se o hrubozrnnou, nasekanou tmu té nejvyšší kvality. Možná se svět řítí do záhuby a můžeme si za to sami, ale dokud budou vznikat podobná alba, bude mít smysl pořád hudbu poslouchat. Až to tady jednou nějaký šílenec celé odpálí, všichni budeme zvracet krev a konečně se pokloníme Satanovi, tak si na tuhle desku určitě vzpomenu. Nevím, kdy vše vzniklo, ale rozdíly se začaly postupně stírat. Mezi naším a oním světem. Mezi realitou a přízraky. Mezi lidmi bylo až příliš zla a nenávisti. Je na čase všechno vyčistit. Doporučuji "From Beyond The Burial Mound" pořádně nahlas. Temný, chladný, zabijácký death metal!

Death metal, který je nám zde předkládán je ostrý, nekompromisní, starý, ošklivý a šíleně návykový. Vydejte se spolu s kapelou na výlet do dávných dob, kdy se ještě hrálo poctivě, reálně a skupinám nechybělo nadšení. Oceňuji velmi dobré, chytlavé nápady, pořádně plesnivý zvuk a hlavně určitou jiskru, kterou cítím z každé skladby. Tohle je muzika pro všechny pamětníky, kteří ještě nezapomněli na to, jak správně death metalem nakopat všem zadky. Mírně se rozkročte, rozpusťte své vlasy, zvedněte ruce a začněte pařit. Starý smrtící kov z devadesátých let opět ožívá. A to pěkně hlasitě a ostře. Kdo z vás si vykope vlastní hrob? Songy plné záhrobí, které jsou nabroušené, jako rezavá kosa. Z nahrávky jsem doslova nadšený a užívám si ji plnými doušky. Temný, chladný, zabijácký death metal!

Sedíš v hospodě a dáváš si asi páté pivo. Sleduješ televizi. Rozzuřený dav právě rabuje obchody. Nenávist v očích, transparenty plné zla. Snažíš se pochopit všechnu špínu, hnus, co se děje kolem. Hlava ti to nebere. Potřebuješ vypnout, restartovat. Jenže nevíš jak. Další pivo není řešením. Je pátek a celý týden si poctivě pracoval. Frustrace, nakumulovaný vztek. Všechno musí nějak ven. Měl bych jedno řešení.

Co takhle malý zaplivaný klub kousek za městem? Na pódiu švédská kapela WORLD IN RUINS a dole staré dobré zombie, tančící do rytmu. Přidávám volume a těším se na další song. Je to tak, i mě koluje v žilách podobná špinavá hudba. Death metal, punk, crust, zlámané kosti, proražené lebky. Myslím, že jsem tu opět správně.


Kapela ctí tradice, hraje rychle a zběsile, se spoustou mrazivých melodií. Vše je v nejlepším pořádku. Podobných smeček je sice mnoho, ale jen některé se umí dostat do mé hlavy. Jak říkám, byl pátek a já celý týden pracoval. Jsem unavený a nechce se mi přemýšlet. Potřebuji pivo a další dávku desky "In Misery". Mezi lidmi je podivný neklid, stačí jeden výkřik a dav se dá do pohybu. Poslední roky mám pocit, že se celý svět zbláznil a zdravý rozum zůstal zakopán někde v nejhlubším hrobě. A tak říkám fuck off a jdu na koncert. Tady je vše ještě v pořádku, stejně jako hudba šílených Švédů WORLD IN RUINS. Ne, není to kapela, která by bourala hranice nebo objevovala jiné dimenze. Jenže je pátek a já potřebuji vyhodit na chvilku mozek z hlavy. Ctí se tu všechny poctivé, tradiční metalové postupy. Takhle to mám rád, takhle je to dobře. Dejte mi prosím další pivo, dneska bude dlouhá noc. Zvu k tanci tu nejkrásnější zombie a ztrácím se v temnotě. A hrají mi k tomu WORLD IN RUINS. Líbí se mi rebelie, tlak a energie, líbí se mi, že se pánové s ničím nepářou. Je totiž pátek a já si potřebuji propláchnout mozek kyselinou. D-beat crust punk old-school death metal, který trhá řetězy!

You sit in a pub and have about a fifth beer. You're watching TV. An angry mob is looting shops. Hatred in the eyes, banners full of evil. You're trying to understand all the dirt, the disgust that's going on around you. Your head doesn't take it. You need to shut down, restart. But you don't know how. Another beer is not the answer. It's Friday and you've been working honestly all week. Frustration, accumulated anger. Everything has to come out somehow. I would have one solution.

How about a little spit-out club just outside the city? On stage, the Swedish band WORLD IN RUINS and down the good old zombies, dancing to the beat. I'm adding volume and looking forward to the next song. That's right, I've got similar dirty music in my veins. Death metal, punk, crust, broken bones, pierced skulls. I think I'm right here again.


The band honours tradition, plays fast and furious, with lots of chilling melodies. Everything is fine. There are many similar packs, but only some of them can get into my head. As I say, it was Friday and I worked all week. I'm tired and I don't want to think. I need a beer and another batch of "In Misery". There is a strange unrest among the people, one shout is enough and the crowd starts moving. In recent years, I have felt that the whole world has gone mad and common sense has remained buried somewhere in the deepest grave. So, I say fuck off and I go to a concert. Everything is still fine here, as is the music of the crazy Swedes WORLD IN RUINS. No, it's not a band that breaks boundaries or explores other dimensions. But it's Friday and I need to blow my brains out for a while. He honours all honest, traditional metal techniques. That's how I like it, that's how good it is. Please give me another beer, tonight will be a long night. I invite the most beautiful zombies to dance and I get lost in the dark. And they play me WORLD IN RUINS. I like rebellion, pressure and energy, I like that gentleman don't get along with anything. It's Friday and I need to flush my brain with acid. D-beat crust punk old-school death metal that tears chains!

A few questions - interview with death metal/crust punk band from Sweden - WORLD IN RUINS.

Answered Martin and Marcus, thank you!

Ave, can you introduce your band to our readers? – When was it founded and what style of music do you play etc.?

MD: The band consists of me (Marcus Dahl) on lead guitar, Martin on the drums, Mathias on 2nd guitar, Daniel on bass and Fredrik on vocals.

ME: We started off in 2017 with the intension to play D-Beat/crust blended with some death metal. These are styles of music that we all like and can relate to both lyric wise and music wise.

Where and under what conditions were you recording the new album? Who was in charge of sound, production and mastering?

ME: The conditions wasn’t the best but we pulled it through. I had a severe back problem at the time and couldn’t feel my right foot when playing the drums and Mathias (git) was burnt out from working too much but as i said we pulled it through and are quite pleased with the result.

MD: Most of it was recorded at Studio Fredman and then some at my and Martins home studios after which everything was mixed and mastered by Fredrik Nordström at Studio Fredman.


How many copies were released and which medium was used for this new edition (CD, digital, vinyl, cassette)?

ME: I’m not sure but i think that it’s a small first edition. About 100 copies made of the CD and maybe 50 of the tapes. So it’s released on CD, Tape and digital. There’s no vinyl made yet but if there is someone out there willing to release it on vinyl you are more than welcome.

Who is the author of the lyrics and how were they created and about what do the lyrics deal with?

MD:Most lyrics are done by Martin and then some by Fredrik and a few by me. The lyrics are social aware dealing with topics such as religion, abuse, terrorism and other sorts of pain and misery.

Who created the logo of the band, and who took care of the graphics and the website? What about you and social networks? Do you consider these things important?

MD:If I remember right it was Daniel who found the font and then we jointly did some fine tuning.

ME:The cover art for the album is made by Mike Fisher custom artwork whom we used for me and Marcus other band Sickrecy but the general graphics on both CD and Tape was taken care of by Achilles at URBAN NOISE productions.


Which label did you choose for releasing your album and why this label? Are you satisfied by how your label represents you and takés care about you?

ME: We teamed up with the small DIY label URBAN NOISE Productions. Achilles, who runs the label is a friend of mine and he wrote to me and asked if he could release it, and since we parted with our previous label we all thought that this was a very good solution.

MD:This is a very small label with limited funds but he works hard (and we too) to spread our music and name and we are very satisfied with everything so far. The best thing with being on a small label is that communication is much easier and direct, which we really appreciate as opposed to being band number 242 on some bigger label that takes ages to respond (no names).

Which bands do you idolise and where do you get your inspiration?

MD: I wouldn't say idolize but considering the style we play I would say the inspiration comes from both old punk like Discharge and Anti-Cimex as well as death metal like Morbid Angel. The first Wolfpack album is a huge inspiration as well although I think we quickly found our own way of combining those styles.

ME: i don’t know if i idolize any band but good dose of inspiration for me comes from the crust scene in general but i can tell you one thing, if Wolfbrigade hasn’t been around and showed the world that you can do it with a fat, good and modern sound, I don’t think that we would be around. They managed to take the music from the mid 80’s and do it with the sound of today. But the single most inspirational thing for me is, knowing that the best songs are still to be made and that is what i’m chasing after.


Did you send your record to some Labels - which are the labels? How was the response?

ME: When we were finished with the recording we passed it around to see what interest it would gain. There were a couple of labels interested and we even signed (a bum deal) with one. We got promised a lot but nothing happened, so after a year we decided to part with them.

MD:The idea then was to release the album as three digital ep’s but along came Achilles and URBAN NOISE and the rest is history. We are very pleased that it’s finally released.

How many gigs have you played? Which type of gigs do you prefer, whether it's (clubs or festivals) and which of your performances would you consider as the best?

ME: In 2019 we were on the roll, well rehearsed and on the go. We played a handful of gigs in late 2019 and early 2020 but as you all know by now that little thing called Covid-19 came along and annihilated all plans for gigs and shows. As for me i think that the last show we did was our best and most fun. It was in a small club in Kristianstad, a town in the south of Sweden. We shared the stage with 3 other relatively unknown band but the crowd was wild and the the other bands were great.

MD: I would have to agree the last show in Kristianstad is the best so far as we were all well rehearsed and pulled off a good show.


What about your plans for the future? What do you want to achieve with the band?

ME: To promote the album the best that we can and to try and get some more gigs going. That means that we have to assemble the band and drag our arses to rehearsal place more often. You see, we all live in different parts of the country so naturally we don’t rehearse that much together. Hopefully we will be back in the studio by the end of 2022 to record a new album and this time we aim for a vinyl release as well.

MD: Now that the whole album is finally out main goal, unless the Covid situation results in lockdowns again, is to get out and play, thats really what I look forward to mostly. Then we will see with regards to next release, we have some new tracks but we also have two other bands (Sickrecy and Damned to Downfall) that take up quit some time so for World in Ruins I would say main goal for 2022 is to play more shows and see where that takes us.

Pokud jste propadli metalu jako já, tak moc dobře víte, že krvavé kořeny nelze jen tak vytrhnout. Rád a často se čím dál tím více vracím do minulosti. K samotným základům extrémních stylů. Vždy se mi líbila v hudbě surovost, síla, energie, hromady popraskaných kostí, které zůstávaly poházeny všude kolem po poslechu zásadních desek žánru. Polské DISHELL jsem neznal vůbec. Nové album "Teutonic Beat" mi přišlo na recenzi a nečekal jsem vůbec nic. Nakonec mám obličej rozsekaný do krve.

Je totiž pátek a já píšu a poslouchám. Jsem unavený z práce, z lidí kolem, ze spousty zbytečných informací, které se na nás v dnešní době valí jako lavina. Chci pivo, svůj pokoj a hudbu jako hrají DISHELL. Death metal, crust, punk. Texty v mé oblíbené polštině. Deska na mě opravdu působí jako návrat po časové ose zpět. 


Pocházím ještě z doby, kdy byl metal špinavý a hnusný, když kolikrát nadšení a touha ničit převládaly nad hráčským uměním. Štvou mě umělohmotné nahrávky dnešních dní. Dřív šlo hlavně o tlak, o energii, o to, udělat pořádný bordel. Možná právě proto se mi "Teutonic Beat" líbí. Kapela si na nic nehraje, skladbám věřím, cítím, že je hrají od srdce. A vůbec mi nevadí, že se nejedná o nic převratného. Jde o to nás hlavně vykostit. A myslím, že se to povedlo. Ve stylu starých švédských kapel, ve stylu punku a crustu, v rytmu tančících zombie nám Poláci předkládají náklad syrového masa, které už značně zapáchá. Slyším zde ozvěny CELTIC FROST, ANTI CIMEX, DISFEAR. A jsem spokojený. Mám totiž pivo, volný čas, který hodlám využít právě podobnou hudbou. Nemusím nad ní přemýšlet, jen si tak kývat spokojeně hlavou do rytmu a nic neřešit. Doporučuji. Připadá mi totiž, že je dnes spousta lidí v podivné křeči, že se nedokáže uvolnit, zařvat si a vyplivnout ze sebe nakumulovanou energii a zdravou naštvanost. Stylový obal, slušný tradiční zvuk. Myslím, že netřeba řešit nic dalšího. DISHELL to do vás naperou pod tlakem, až vám pukne lebka. Potom se ale dostaví klid a stav blaženosti. Death punk crust! Kosti praskají!

If you've fallen into metal like me, you know very well that bloody roots can't just be uprooted. I like and often go back and forth. To the very basics of extreme styles. I've always liked the brutality, strength, energy, piles of cracked bones that have been thrown all around after listening to the essential records of the genre. I didn't know Polish DISHELL at all. The new album "Teutonic Beat" came to my review and I didn't expect anything at all. Eventually, my face is cut into blood.

It's Friday and I write and listen. I'm tired of work, of people around me, of a lot of useless information that rolls over us like an avalanche these days. I want beer, my room and music like they play DISHELL. Death metal, crust, punk. Lyrics in my favourite Polish. The record really seems like a timeline return to me.


I come from a time when metal was dirty and disgusting, when many times enthusiasm and the desire to destroy prevailed over the art of playing. I am annoyed by the plastic recordings of today. It used to be mainly about pressure, about energy, about making a real mess. Maybe that's why I like "Teutonic Beat". The band doesn't play anything, I believe in the songs, I feel that they play them from the heart. And I don't mind at all that this is nothing revolutionary. It's mainly about boning us. And I think it worked. In the style of old Swedish bands, in the style of punk and crust, in the rhythm of dancing zombies, the Poles present us a load of raw meat that already smells bad. I hear echoes of CELTIC FROST, ANTI CIMEX, DISFEAR. And I'm satisfied. I have beer, free time, which I intend to use with similar music. I don't have to think about it, just nod my head to the rhythm and don't solve anything. I recommend. It seems to me that a lot of people today are in a strange spasm, that they can't relax, roar and spit out their accumulated energy and healthy anger. Stylish packaging, decent traditional sound. I don't think anything else needs to be addressed. DISHELL will push it under you until your skull breaks. But then there is peace and a state of bliss. Death punk crust! The bones are cracking!

Potkal jsem jednou chlápka, který měl v mozku zabodnutý kousek ulomeného nože. Chodil s ním po světě několik let a neustále si stěžoval na bolesti hlavy. Občas někoho napadl, byl naštvaný, jedovatý, zákeřný a nikdo ho neměl rád. Někdy, když se rozhlédnu kolem sebe, tak mám pocit, že takových lidí kolem mě chodí víc. Nechápu, kde se v nich bere tolik zla. Kdyby si raději pustili novou desku slovenských death grinderů ABORTION. 

V dnešní době se každý může vyjadřovat ke všemu, ale přesto, mě tohle album ihned proniklo do krve. Líbí se mi, jak je špinavé, neurvalé, undergroundové. Možná za to může surový zvuk, možná trefné a přesné texty, nevím, ale přesně takový druh hudby jsem právě teď potřeboval. Perfektně sedne do současné situace, kdy spousta jedinců odhaluje svoji spíše horší stránku. "No Lives Matter" je nahrávkou, která vám v podobě krátkých úderných bodnutí - songů, vyndá kousky zlomeného nože z mozku. 


"No Lives Matter" má v sobě potřebné vibrace, energii, tlak i sílu. Muselo vzniknout někde v zakouřených špinavých sklepech slovenského podzemí. Nic pro slabé povahy, ale pořádná nálož zkaženého masa, kterou právě někdo vyložil před váš dům. Dar od pánaboha, tak se tomu někdy říká, v deathu, grindu i crustu tomu tak je. Podobných kapel běhá po světě stovky, ale jen některé umí vytvořit krutou a krvavou atmosféru. Oproti předchozí desce "All You Need is Hate" mi přijde novinka temnější, jakoby vystihovala přesně to, co se kolem nás právě děje. A punkové kousky? Pro mě osobně se jedná o příjemné osvěžení a potvrzení, že ABORTION jsou tím druhem, odrůdou, kterou si můžete pustit ve chvílích, když přijdete naštvaní z práce, když vidíte večer zprávy nebo budete právě číst tupý příspěvek někde v diskuzi. "No Lives Matter" je plivnutím do ksichtu všem, kteří mají v lebce usazenou nenávist. Přesně takhle si představují skvělé stylové album. Death, grind, crust, punk, vše je namícháno ve smrtícím koktejlu. Stačí se jen napít. Myslím, že k téhle desce se budu rád a často vracet. Minimálně pokaždé, když uvidím někde hloupé zprávy, když potkám dalšího blbce a nebo jen tak,  pro radost, až si budu potřebovat vyčistit hlavu. Trepanace lebky zvaná ABORTION!

Sometimes he attacked someone, he was angry, poisonous, insidious, and no one liked him. Sometimes when I look around, I feel like there are more people like me around me. I don't understand where so much evil is coming from them. If they would rather play a new record of Slovak death grinders ABORTION.

Nowadays, everyone can comment on everything, but still, this album immediately got into my blood. I like how dirty, rude and underground this album is. Maybe it's the raw sound, maybe the right and accurate lyrics, I don't know, but that's exactly the kind of music I needed right now. It fits perfectly into the current situation, where many individuals rather reveal their worse side. "No Lives Matter" is a recording that takes pieces of a broken knife out of your brain in the form of short striking stabs - songs.

"No Lives Matter" has the necessary vibrations, energy, pressure and strength. It must have originated somewhere in the smoky dirty cellars of the Slovak underground. Nothing for the weak, but a proper load of rotten meat that someone had just unloaded in front of your house. A gift from God, that's sometimes called it, that's the way it is in death, grind and crust. Hundreds of similar bands run around the world, but only some can create a cruel and bloody atmosphere. Compared to the previous album "All You Need is Hate", the novelty seems darker to me, as if it captures exactly what is happening around us. And punk pieces? For me personally, this is a pleasant refreshment and confirmation that ABORTION are the kind, variety that you can listen to when you come upset from work, when you see the news in the evening or you just read a dumb post somewhere in the discussion. "No Lives Matter" is a spit in the face of all those who have hatred in their skulls. This is exactly how I imagine a great stylish album. Death, grind, crust, punk, everything is mixed in a deadly cocktail. Just have a drink. I think I will be happy to return to this record often. At least every time I see stupid news somewhere, when I meet another jerk, or just for fun, when I need to clear my head. Skull trepanation called ABORTION!

Recenze/review - TO THE DOGS - Demo (2020)

Vezměte několik kilo špíny, zamíchejte ji se zkaženou krví, upěchujte starou kostí a podávejte podchlazené. Můžete případně požádat nějakého kolegu, aby vzal rezavé hřebíky a pomalu vám je zarážel pod nehty. Je to prostě tak, podobné pocity mám i z demonahrávky amerických TO THE DOGS. Spousta thrashe, blacku, ale i crustu, neurvalý zvuk, tohle vše dělá z nahrávky povinnost pro všechny špinavce.

Podobné záležitosti beru jako ochutnávku, upozornění, že kapela existuje. Pánové se zapsali do mé knihy mrtvých krvavým písmem a já mohu odpřisáhnout, že mi podobná krmě vždy bude chutnat. Líbí se mi energie, která ze tří vysokooktanových skladeb doslova cáká na všechny strany. 

 

Máte rádi kapely jako VENOM, NIFELHEIM, VULCANO, MORBID SLAUGHTER, DEATHHAMMER, PENTAGRAM CHILE, AURA NOIR, DESASTER, PROTECTOR, POSSESSED a podobné? Pak neváhejte ani chvilku. TO THE DOGS mají stejný podobný říz, drive, pradávnou sílu, která láme kosti. A dělají to elegantně. Navíc přidávají pořádnou dávku crustu. Je pro mě hrozně příjemné spadnout do téhle drtičky a nechat se rozmělnit na malé kousky. Pokud jste prokletí stejně jako já, tak neváhejte ani chvilku. Rád a čím dál tím častěji se k podobným špinavostem uchyluji. Mám při poslechu totiž pocit, že svět je ještě v pořádku. Pánové hrají rychle, moc se s tím nepářou. Není čas na pózy, což oceňuji u kapel také čím dál tím více. Zkrátka a jednoduše - TO THE DOGS loni přijeli s valníkem prašivých kostí a vyložili jej u nás před domem. Není čas na řeči, lepší je přidat volume a naplno se oddat black/thrash/death crustovým orgiím. Jdu znovu na to! Masakr!

Riffy ostré jako břitva, plesnivina a black/death/thrash/crustový feeling. To jsou první věci, které mě napadají při poslechu novinky "Demo (2020)". TO THE DOGS nahráli tradiční, klasické album. Zaplať Satan za to! Nahrávka je určena pro všechny pravé old school black/thrash metalové maniaky. Nečekejte žádný posun, ani progresi, ale rovnou rozsekaný obličej. Jsem při poslechu rozemletý jako nějaké pořádně rozdrcené maso. Zavolejte do kafilerie, za chvíli jsem tam. Mé staré kosti děkují, že se zase jednou mohou rozhýbat v pořádně rychlém tempu. Pokud jste měli rádi stará alba starých prašivých maniaků, myslím, že budete spokojeni i tentokrát. Nahlas, rychle a pořádně krutě. Strhněte všechny modly! Rozbijte kladivem zeď a slyšte poctivý, reálný black/death/thrash/crust metal od těchto skvělých bastardů! Old school metal forever! TO THE DOGS rules!

The riffs sharp like a rasor, mildew and black/death/thrash/crust feeling. These are the first things coming to my mind when listening to the news, "Demo (2020)". TO THE DOGS recorded the traditional, classic album. Thanks to Satan! The recording is intended for all true old school black/thrash metal maniacs. Don't expect any shift or progression, but right cut up face. When listening I was minced like some pretty crushed meat. Call the glue factory, I'm there in a few minutes. My old bones thank that they can once again move in pretty rapid pace. If you liked old albums of these old dusty maniacs, I think you will be satisfied this time too. Loud, fast and really cruel. Tear down all the idols! Break the wall with a hammer and hear honest, real black/death/thrash/crust metal from this great bastards! Old school metal forever! TO THE DOGS rules!

 Zničit, spálit, roztrhat. Rozzuřený dav, adrenalin stoupá. Chytí jej náhodou, když se pokusí utéct temnou uličkou. Obviněný, svázaný, vláčený po zemi. Pro výstrahu všem. Soud bez pravidel, krvelačnost a strach. Pověšený na nejvyšší lampu na náměstí se houpá do větru. Jazyk vyplazený, oči vypoulené. Udělej si s ním fotku, všichni ti ji budou závidět. Emoce se uklidní a pak někdo do ticha pronese, že byl nevinný.

 Singapurští OFFEST už na první poslech působí, jakoby přišli do studia ze špinavé ulice. Kolem se potulují party ostrých hochů a všichni se těší na další skladbu. Death metal, punk, crust. Tohle všechno naleznete i na novém EP "Bent Benevolence". Surová, syrová nálož, špinavá bomba.



Skladby odsýpají jako lavina z černého kamení. Celou deskou navíc prostupuje temnota, která si vás ihned přitáhne na svoji stranu. Je to zkrátka klasický masakr ohlodaný až na kost. Muzika, která patří do zaplivaných klubů, na periferii města, do podchodů, ve kterých se bojíte zastavit. Zvuk láme kosti, bicí drtí, kytary řežou, myslím, že si není na co stěžovat. Možná vokál, ten je občas trošku monotónní, ale to k tomuto stylu tak nějak patří. Poslouchám dál a kolem mě proběhne jedna parta. Je to jen okamžik, malý záblesk a padám k zemi s proříznutým hrdlem. OFFEST nahráli poctivou desku, která vás přišpendlí na zeď. Musíte mít samozřejmě svoje uši naladěné do podzemí, ale potom budete odměněni pořádně ostrým zážitkem. Songy řežou, pálí a žhnou. A zároveň chladí. To jsou pro mě atributy dobrého death/crust/punku. Pánové jej hrají dobře, bez zábran a vy si tak můžete vychutnat pocity rozzuřeného davu. Hodně divoká záležitost!

Destroy, burn, tear. Angry crowd, adrenaline rising. It catches it by accident when it tries to escape through a dark alley. Accused, bound, dragged on the ground. To warn everyone. Court without rules, bloodthirstiness and fear. Hanging on the tallest lamp in the square, it sways in the wind. Tongue out, eyes bulging. Take a picture with it, everyone will envy you. Emotions calm down and then someone says in silence that it was innocent. 

At the first listening, Singapore´s OFFEST look like they came to the studio from a dirty street. Parties of sharp boys are wandering around and everyone is looking forward to the next song. Death metal, punk, crust. You can find all this on the new EP “Bent Benevolence”. Raw bomb, dirty bomb. 

The songs spill away like an avalanche of black stones. In addition, darkness permeates the entire board, which immediately draws you to its side. It is simply a classic massacre gnawed to the bone. Music that belongs to spit clubs, on the outskirts of the city, to the subways where you are afraid to stop. The sound breaks the bones, the drums are crushed, the guitars are cut, I don't think there's anything to complain about. Maybe the vocals, it's a bit monotonous at times, but it kind of belongs to this style. I keep listening and a bunch runs around me. It's just a moment, a small flash and I fall to the ground with my throat slit. OFFEST recorded an honest record that will pin you on the wall. Of course, you have to have your ears tuned underground, but then you will be rewarded with a really sharp experience. The songs cut, burn and glow. And at the same time it cools. These are the attributes of good death / crust / punk for me. Gentlemen play it well, without hindrance, so you can enjoy the feelings of an angry crowd. Very wild affair!

Našel jsem ve sklepě krabici plnou zlámaných kostí. Přemýšlel jsem, jak se tam vzala? Komu patřily? Odpovědí mi byla temná chodba, která vedla až na nedaleký hřbitov. Vydal jsem se podzemím a poslouchal jen samou surovou a ošklivou hudbu. Už dlouho mi pomáhá přežít, pokaždé, když vylezu na světlo. Vstupuji do staré, zdánlivě opuštěné márnice a na prvním náhrobku vidím nápis CURSED BLOOD. Otevírám víko z mramoru a místo shnilého těla se na mě vyhrne syrový death metal ušpiněný jako ruka mrtvoly.

Debutové album řeckých CURSED BLOOD připomíná krabici zlámaných kostí, o jejichž původu můžeme vést dlouhé diskuze. Důležité ale je, že se zde hraje pravý undergroundový smrtící kov, který je doslova nasáklý zkaženou krví. Kapela je ale ovlivněna i thrashem, grindem, hardcore. Zkrátka a jednoduše, koktejl smrti jak se patří.


"Taker Of Life" je nahrávkou, která musela vzniknout v těch nejtemnějších koutech Hádovy říše. Vše je ohlodáno na dřeň, kapela útočí přímo, bez jakýchkoliv vytáček a zbytečností. Skladby jsou velmi dobře napsány. Během poslechu se kolem mě vznáší ponurá a tajemná atmosféra. Jakoby se v jednom kotli v pekle potkali zástupci švédské scény (DISMEMBER, GRAVE) s členy hardcore a crustu. Vše je zalito rozžhavenou lávou a podáváno spolu se syrovým masem na podnose z lidských lebek. CURSED BLOOD jsou zároveň také takovým morbidním osvěžením mezi zástupy ostatních, naklonovaných kapel současnosti. Úplně před sebou vidím malý klub na periferii našeho města. Hodně alkoholu, testosteron a na pódiu řádí Řekové. Když jejich prvotinu poslouchám, mám hroznou chuť podobný koncert zažít. Naživo to musí být masakr. Zatím si srovnám kosti na hromadu, přidám volume a budu se těšit na další skladbu. "Taker Of Life" jsou pro mě velkým překvapením, kapelou, jejíž hudba mi koluje v žilách. Takhle nějak si představuji záhrobí. Album má neskutečný drive a energii. A jako bonus vás spálí na popel! Totální masakr v márnici, který se opravdu povedl!

I found a box full of broken bones in the basement. I was wondering how the box got there? Who did they belong to? The answer was a dark corridor that led to a nearby cemetery. I went under the ground and listened to the raw and ugly music. It has been helping me survive for a long time, every time I come out into the light. I enter the old, seemingly abandoned morgue and see the inscription CURSED BLOOD on the first tombstone. I open the marble lid and instead of a rotten body, raw death metal soiled like a corpse's hand reaches me. 

The debut album of the Greek CURSED BLOOD is reminiscent of a box of broken bones, the origin of which we can have long discussions about. But the important thing is that real underground deadly metal is played here, which is literally soaked in rotten blood. But the band is also influenced by thrash, grind, hardcore. Simply put a cocktail of death as it should be.


"Taker Of Life" is a record that must have been made in the darkest corners of the Serpent Empire. Everything is gnawed to bone marrow and the band attacks directly, without any twists and turns all warnings. The songs are very well written. As I listen, a gloomy and mysterious atmosphere hovers above me. It is as if representatives of the Swedish scene (DISMEMBER, GRAVE) met with members of the hardcore and crust in a hellish cauldron. Everything is filled with hot lava and served together with raw meat on a tray of human skulls. CURSED BLOOD is a morbid refreshment among the crowds of other, cloned bands of today. I see a small club on the outskirts of our city right in front of me. Lots of alcohol, testosterone and the Greeks are doing havoc on the stage. When I listen to their first film, I have a terrible desire to experience a similar concert. It must be a massacre when seen alive. In the meantime, I'll line up the bones, pump up the volume, and look forward to the next song. "Taker Of Life" is a big surprise for me, a band whose music circulates in my veins. This is how I imagine the graveyard. The album has incredible drive and energy. And as a bonus, they will burn you to ashes! A total massacre in a morgue that really worked!
