 "Všichni za sebou táhneme nějaký stín": napsal kdysi v jednom ze svých děl Stephen King. Když poslouchám novinku finských death metalistů DECAYING, tak s ním musím stoprocentně souhlasit. Připadám si jako voják, který se právě vrátil z války. Budím se ze zlých snů, cítím ve vzduchu krev a neustále se ohlížím za sebe. Natolik je pro mě nové album přitažlivé.

Dlouhé, až někam k doom metalu hozené melodie, připomínají  zdánlivý klid po bitvě. Drtivé, mnohdy thrashem nakažené riffy zase souboj na život a na smrt. Stylově se DECAYING pohybují ve stejných vodách jako ASPHYX, HAIL OF BULLETS, MEMORIAM, BOLT THROWER. Z hudby čiší chlad, tma a bolest.




"To Cross the Line" je deskou plnou převážně negativních nálad a skvělého zvuku. Zadírá se mi postupně pod kůži, způsobuje horečku, tolik známou z vojenských akcí. "Válka je svinstvo!": chce se mi křičet. Album by s klidem mohlo být soundtrackem k válečnému černobílému filmu. Kolem se povalují jako zlomené loutky mrtvoly vojáků. Píšu ti dopis ze zákopů, který dostaneš dávno po mé smrti. V kostech mám mráz, jsem nasáklý špínou, prašivinou a nenávistí. Stejně jako nové album finských DECAYING. Smrt čeká opravdu na každém rohu. Stačí se jí poddat. Vynikající death metalová nahrávka, která je doslova nasáklá válkou!

„We all pull a shadow behind us" - Stephen King once wrote this in one of his works. When I listen to the new album of Finnish death metalists DECAYING, I have to agree with him. I feel like a soldier who just returned from the war. I wake up from a bad dream, I feel the blood in the air and constantly look behind me. The album is so appealing to me. The long, doom metal melodies remind us of the seeming peace of mind after the battle. Cruel, often thrash-infected riffs turn a fight to life and death. The DECAYING style moves in the same waters as ASPHYX, HAIL OF BULLETS, MEMORIAM, BOLT THROWER. From music we can feel cold, darkness and pain.


"To Cross the Line" is a record full of predominantly negative moods and great sound. It gets under my skin, causing a fever known from military action. "War is crap!": I want to scream. The album could quietly be a soundtrack to a war black and white movie. The corpses of soldiers are lying around like broken puppets. I'm writing a letter from the trenches that you get long after my death. In my bones I'm frozen, I'm soaked by dirt, and hatred. Like the new album Finnish DECAYING. Death is really waiting on every corner. Just give it up. Excellent death metal record that is literally soaked by war!

Čekáme na smrt, hnijeme vlastními myšlenkami. Rozkládáme se s vědomím, že jednou z nás zůstane jen potrava pro červy. Přesto neustále bojujeme a ničíme. Beru do rukou své vlastní ostatky, kochám se strachem duše. Jsme v očistci? Ptám se stále dokola a odpověď nepřichází. Pouštím si raději stále dokola nové album německých ATOMWINTER. Ti mi opět dávají odpovědi na poslední otázky před smrtí. Death metal v klasické podobě, který mě neustále láká do záhrobí.

Třetí řadové album německých válečníků má jasný cíl. Zničit vás špínou, plesnivinou, chladem a tlakem, nakumulovaným dlouhá léta v opuštěných katakombách. Řemeslo ve stylu ASPHYX, BOLT THROWER, ale i švédské školy (DISMEMBER, GRAVE, NIHILIST) drtí až nebývalou silou. Po poslechu zůstávají kolem jen ohlodané kosti.



Připadá mi, že jsem zazděný zaživa, světlo jsem neviděl již spoustu dní a mým společníkem jsou pouze holé zdi mé kobky a Smrt, která čeká v koutě. Do uší mi proniká ostře ledový a velmi dobře ošetřený zvuk, kochám se chorobným vokálem i riffy, které se mi zadírají pod kůži. ATOMWINTER nehrají hudbu, která by byla něčím nová, objevná. Nevadí to, originalitu "nahrazují" tlakem, sílou, totálním nasazením. Ze skladeb je cítit nadšení pro poslední věci člověka, pro všechny krvavé rituály i hanobení svatých ostatků. Beru do rukou svojí vlastní lebku a ptám se, jakou hlasitost mám u tohoto alba zvolit. Odpovědí mi je jen tichý smích, to je přece jasné, vždy tu nejvyšší. Nechte se jako já, zavřít do starých katakomb a vychutnejte si pravý, reálný, nefalšovaný death metal, který je cítit sírou, poctivostí a patinou. Mám rád rozpadající se dřevěné rakve, mám rád Smrt v tomto provedení! Vynikající chorobná záležitost!

We are waiting for death, rotting by our own thoughts. We decay with the knowledge that one day we will be just food for worms. But we still fight and destroy. I take my remnants and I enjoy to look at them with the fear of my soul. Are we in the purgatory? I ask over and over and there is no answer. So I rather listen to the new album by German band ATOMWINTER. They again gave me answers for the last questions before death. Death metal in the classic form which constantly attracts me to the beyond world. 

The third album by German warriors has a clear goal. Destroy you by dirt, mould, cold and pressure, accumulated for years in abandoned catacombs. Craft in the style of ASPHYX, BOLT THROWER but also Swedish school (DISMEMBER, GRAVE, NIHILIST) crush with unprecedented strength. After the listening there will be only nibbled bones around you. 

I feel like being walled alive, I have not seen the light for many days and my friend here are just the blank walls of my cell and the death which is waiting in the corner. In my ears there is the sharply cold and very nicely played sound, I enjoy the sick vocal and the riffs which go right under my skin. ATOMWINTER do not play new or revolutionary music. I do not care, they “replace” the originality with pressure, power and total commitment. From those songs you can feel enthusiasm for last things of men, for all bloody rituals and defamation of the holy remains. I take my skull in my hands and I ask what volume of this album is suitable. The answer is just a quiet laugh, it is so clear – the highest volume. Do not let yourself to be locked in old catacombs like I was and enjoy the real death metal which smells like sulphur, honesty and patina. I like the decaying wooden coffins, I like death in this style! Excellent disease album!

 Vždycky jsem snil o tom, že se jednou budu procházet krajinou po výbuchu sopky. Ani jsem netušil, že se mi můj sen splní při poslechu nové desky švédských CRUCIFYRE. Kapela letos ubrala na tvrdosti, přidala více melodií a temnoty. Výsledkem je album, které připomíná usedající prach, který zůstane na zemi po řece z lávy. 

 Velmi dobře zvukově ošetřené album bude asi nejvíc vyhovovat starším fanouškům, kteří ještě sází u hudby na poctivou práci. Ze skladeb na všechny strany prýští hravost, talent, touha předložit energický a zároveň propracovaný materiál. Pokud máte rádi heavy metal, smíchaný s dobrým thrashem, rozhodně neváhejte. 



Líbí se mi zamyšlené, pomalejší chvilky, chladné vyhrávky i kusy nasekaných riffů. Vzpomínám spolu s kapelou na staré dobré BATHORY, BLACK SABBATH, POSSESSED, HELLHAMMER, MERCYFUL FATE, IRON MAIDEN, SLAYER. Vlivů je spousta a je to vlastně jedno. Důležitý je výsledek a ten je neskutečně návykový. "Post Vulcanic Black" se pro mě stalo hlavně albem pro chvíle odpočinku, pro snění o sopce někde na severu, která chrlí oheň, zkázu, smrt, led a hlavně poctivou reálnou hudbu plnou nadšení a melodií. CRUCIFYRE letos vydali vynikající desku, to vám podepíšu vlastní krví! Cítíte také to vnitřní pnutí, které z alba sálá na všechny strany? Tak to je znak kvality! Nahrávka, která připomíná lávu sopečného původu, právě schlazenou na bod mrazu! Excelentní záležitost!

I've always dreamed of going through the country after the volcano exploded. I did not even know that my dream would be fulfilled when listening to the new CRUCIFYRE album. This year, the band has taken on hardness, adding more melodies and darkness. The result is an album that reminds of the dying dust that remains on the lava river.

Very well sound-treated album will most probably suit for older fans who still love music for honest craft. From the tracks comes the playfulness, talent, the desire to present energetic and sophisticated material. If you like heavy metal mixed with good thrash, do not hesitate.

I like thoughtful, slower moments, cool tones and pieces of chopped riffs. I remember together with the band on the old good BATHORY, BLACK SABBATH, POSSESSED, HELLHAMMER, MERCYFUL FATE, IRON MAIDEN, SLAYER. There are a lot of influences and it does not really matter. The result is important and it is incredibly addictive.

"Post Volcanic Black" became for me mainly an album for moments of rest, dreaming of a volcano somewhere in the north, a volcano that burns fire, destruction, death, ice and especially honest real music full of excitement and melody. CRUCIFYRE have released an excellent record this year, I will sign it for you with my own blood! Do you also feel the inner tension that is blazing from the album on all sides? So it's a sign of quality! Recording that resembles a lava just to the freezing point! Excellent material!

 Byl proveden další zombie atak! Z hrobů vylezli nemrtví, rozpadající se, hnilobní, jdoucí i po vašem mase. Plouží se městem a hledají čerstvou krev. Kdo bude další na řadě? Kdo si zatančí nekonečný tanec smrti? Hlásím se v první řadě, protože nám budou hrát ruští maniaci WOMBRIPPER.

 Švédský death metal je zde podáván v podobě, v jaké ho hrály smečky jako NIRVANA 2002, NIHILIST, ENTRAILS, DISMEMBER, GRAVE, ENTOMBED. Bez jakýchkoliv příkras. Nekompromisně, syrově, chladně. S klasickým zvukem z devadesátých let, s obrovským nasazením a odhodláním. Mrzne mi morek v kostech a tuhne krev v žilách. V tomhle hrobě se mi hodně líbí!




"From the Depths of Flesh" je velmi špinavá, neurvalá, rebelská nahrávka. Víka od rakví naskakují, lebky praskají tlakem, smrt se vznáší všude kolem. Rusům se povedlo nahrát hodně morbidní a ostrou desku severského střihu, která má za úkol jediné. Zabít vás tlakem a energií. Hroby se otvírají, zohavená těla vylézají ven. Dnes bude dlouhá noc. Uteč kdo můžeš! Nakonec zůstanou jen praví, ostřílení fanoušci, kterým tepou v žilách stejné kousky ledu, jako WOMBRIPPER. Líbí se mi klasický, chřestící zvuk, obdivuji undergroundový obal. Užívám si hlas ze záhrobí, naplno se poddávám riffům. Jsem rozsekaný, roztrhaný, zničený a stále mám chuť na další skladby. "From the Depths of Flesh" je pro mě albem, které mě zasáhlo na těch nejcitlivějších místech. Jsem prokletý navěky a až se jednou rozpadnu na prach, stále budu novinku ruských maniaků poslouchat. Tohle je old school death metal té nejvyšší kvality! Berte a nebo nechte být, nic mezi tím neexistuje! Masakr, inferno, smrt! Vynikající švédský smrtící kov, u kterého ožívají nemrtví!

There was another zombie attack! The undead came out of their graves, they are decaying, they are rotting and they go after your flesh. They run through the city and look for fresh blood. Who will be next? Who will dance the endless death dance? I want to go because the Russian maniacs WOMBRIPPER will play during the dance.

Their Swedish death metal is played in the style of bands like NIRVANA 2002, NIHILIST, ENTRAILS, DISMEMBER, GRAVE, ENTOMBED. Without any additions. Uncompromisingly, raw, cold. With classic sound from the 90s, with a huge commitment and dedication. The pith in my bones freezes and my blood thickens in my veins. I like this grave so much!

“From the Depths of Flesh” is a very dirty, rough and rebellious album. The lids of coffins are jumping, skulls are cracking, the death is all around. Those Russians managed to record a very morbid and sharp album of Nordic cut which has only one goal. To kill you with pressure and energy. The graves are opening, mutilated bodies are climbing out. Tonight will be a long night. Run away if you can! There will only be the real, seasoned fans who have the same pieces of ice in their veins like WOMBRIPPER do. I like the classic, rattling sound, I admire the underground cover. I enjoy the voice from the beyond world and I fully truckle to the riffs. I am chopped, torn, ruined and I still want to listen to next song. “From the Depths of Flesh” is an album which hit me on the most sensitive places. I am cursed, forever. And when I will decay into ashes I will still listen to the new album by those Russian maniacs. This is the old school metal of the highest quality! Take it or leave it, there is nothing between! Massacre, inferno, death! Excellent Swedish death metal which wakes up the undead!

A few questions – interview with death metal band from Russia - WOMBRIPPER. 

Ave, can you introduce your band to our readers? – When was it founded and what style of music do you play , etc.? 

Hi! Thanks for the shown interest in us! We are the Wombripper from Russia! We play old school death metal Swedish way like Vomitory, Demonical, Dismember, Entombed, Nirvana 2002. AV started band in 2012 and after several changes the lineup looks like: Dan - guitar, vocal, Ivan - guitar, Konstantin - bass, AV - drums. The main goal from the very beginning was what you hear on our releases - uncompromising, straightforward death metal with HM-2 a sound! 


Where and under what conditions were you recording the new album? Who was in charge of sound, production and mastering? 

The album was recorded in Hiboll Studio, in St. Petersburg, Konstantin Dolganov known for his bands Internal Damage, Chamber of Torture etc. was responsible for a sound. He did all soundwork. Pleases that we did it together, and everything was made all in a week! Great time! 

How many copies were released and which medium was used for this new edition (CD, digital, vinyl, cassette)? 

The album was released not so long ago, and is available in the digital version on Bandcamp and on CD (500 copies, it is released by Grotesque Sounds and Ritual Productions). Shortly there will be also tapes from NO BREAD! records. Our first demo was released to CD, Split with Torn Apart on tapes, self-released. EP Infected Tomb is still available in digital, but we expect release in physical format. 

Who is the author of the lyrics and how were they created and about what do the lyrics deal with? 

Lyrics, as well as the most part of music was written by Dan. Only the Horned knows what’s on his mind. He writes about devil, a gloom, pain and decomposition... Typical death metal lyrics after all, hahaha! 

Who created the logo of the band, and who took care of the graphics and the website? What about you and social networks? Do you consider these things important? 

Logo was made by A.Frolov (aka Capricorn Art), the guy well known in a brutal underground. Cover artists are generally unknown to the majority, for example on an album we used an art of the artist who doesn't have any relation to metal culture. An exception - Recrean Azaza, made an art for EP Infected Tomb. Regarding social networks - silly not to use such thing, convenient for communication. All of us are on Facebook, and are always ready to communicate. 

Which label did you choose for releasing your album and why this label? Are you satisfied by how your label represents you and takés care about you? 

The album released by Grotesque Sounds and Ritual Productions. We are familiar with Alexey and when he offered us to release an album at his label, we accepted his offer quickly. Alexey is the reliable, honest guy, to work with him for us is very comfortable. 


Which bands do you idolise and where do you get your inspiration? 

About inspiring bands and musicians it is possible to talk endlessly! We love a lot of different music, from an abstract noise and classics, to a black and a grindcore. And it is reflected in band‘s music. By the way, the Czech grind-scene is very cool, we love it! 

Did you send your record to some Labels - which are the labels? How was the response? 

We sent an album and EP to big number of different labels, but some didn't like a vocal on an album, or a sound of a snare drum on EP, or they had no space in their release plans. But the main thing - we receive good comments from listeners, and it motivates us to develop the idea of extreme OSDM further. 

How many gigs have you played? Which type of gigs do you prefer, whether it's (clubs or festivals) and which of your performances would you consider as the best? 

About 50 gigs played, haha. Especially cool were in a lineup with European death monsters - Undergang, Fleshcrawl and Nominon! We play in clubs, there are practically no thematic open airs in our country. it is difficult to mark out some concert, all of them are interesting, there is a lot of good people 

What about your plans for the future? What do you want to achieve with the band? 

To do what we want to do and never stop, thats the goals.

Recenze/review - AFGRUND - The Dystopian (2018)

 Nemoci zkažené krve, hnijící kosti. Rozkládající se tělo, smrtelný pohled a lebka pukající velkým tlakem. Mám pocit, že se rozpadnu na tisíc kousků. V bolestech a křečích. Jakoby mi do hlavy někdo postupně zabodával ostré rezavé hřeby. Pomalu a přesně, aby zasáhl všechna citlivá místa.

 Přesně takové pocity mám i z nového alba švédských death/grind punkových šílenců AFGRUND. Je přesně tím divokým a maniakálním kouskem extrémní hudby, která vás bez upozornění přišpendlí na zeď. Energie, síla, hnis a špína. To jsou hlavní atributy novinky "The Dystopian".



Umírat lze mnohými způsoby, ale smrt předváděná na albu "The Dystopian" se zdá být nejvíce bolestivá. AFGRUND ve své tvorbě odkazují na takové smečky jako jsou NASUM, ROTTEN SOUND, NAPALM DEATH, CARCASS. Hniloba je zde kombinována s tlakem a výsledkem je nahrávka, která působí jako třaskavina té nejvyšší kvality. Novinka je jako kus plesnivého masa, které vám někdo hodí přímo do obličeje. Při poslechu se dusím, lapám po dechu a těším se na každý další zabijácký riff. Jsem rád drcen a rozmělňován. Líbí se mi i temnota, která jednotlivými skladbami prostupuje jako nějaká zlá choroba. AFGRUND zkrátka moc dobře vědí, jak na mě. Umí vytvořit absolutně zběsilou atmosféru, vyvolat postupný tlak na moji hlavu. Smrt je zase tak blízko! Death grindové album, které vás rozemele na prach! Amen!

Diseases of spoiled blood, rotting bones. A decaying body, deadly look and a skull cracking with a great pressure. I have a feeling that I will fall into thousands of pieces. In pain and cramps. It feels like someone has been slowly putting sharp rusty nails into my head. Slowly and accurately, to hit all sensitive places. 

I have those exact feelings when I listen to the new album by Swedish death/grind punk madmen AFGRUND. It is the wild and maniacal piece of extreme music which will nail you on a wall with no warnings. Energy, power, pus and dirt. These are the main attributes of the novel “The Dystopian”. 

You can die in many ways but the death on the album “The Dystopian” seems to be even more painful. AFGRUND´s music refers to bands like NASUM, ROTTEN SOUND, NAPALM DEATH or CARCASS. The rotation here is combined with pressure and the result is an album which feels like a bomb of the highest quality. The new album is like a piece of mouldy flesh which hit you right in the face. When I listen to this album I cannot breath and I am looking forward to another killing riff. I like to be smashed and crushed. I like the darkness which goes through each song just like a bad disease. AFGRUND really know what I like. They can create totally furious atmosphere, bring a pressure on my head. The death is again very close! Death grind album which will grind you to dust! Amen!

 Představte si obrovský větrák s ostrými noži na lopatkách. Kolem vás víří roztočený horký vzduch. Máte za úkol jediné - proskočit na druhou stranu. Stačí se nadechnout, nasbírat síly a odvahu. Odrazit se a nechat se rozsekat na malé kousky z masa a kostí.

 Úplně stejně se cítím i při poslechu debutu finských death grinderů GALVANIZER. Pánové letos přinášejí totální masakr lidské mysli, zabalené v krvavých obvazech. Kolem mě se vznáší atmosféra plná smrti, tmy a nekonečného utrpení. Album řeže jako čerstvě nabroušená mačeta.



Pokud budete poslouchat desku pečlivěji, určitě najdete spousty styčných bodů se smečkami jako MACHETAZO, XYSMA, ABHORRENCE, HAEMORRHAGE a mnoho dalšími maniaky, kteří ve své tvorbě kombinují hudební násilí, death metal, grind a krvavé chuchvalce špíny. Nahrávku jsem si pokaždé narval do hlavy s velkou chutí. Odpoutala mě od dnešního zkaženého světa a utvrdila v tom, že old schoolový zvuk je ta pravá morbidní vášeň. Nehledejte u GALVANIZER nic dobrého, dostanete jen chorobou nakažené riffy, zničující vokál a ucítíte rozkládající se těla. Novinka je pro mě velkým překvapením. Utrhněte mi hlavu, zapalte mou rakev! Tuhle desku budu poslouchat dál a dál. Skvělý devastující zážitek!

Imagine a huge fan with sharp knives on the blades. There is a whirling hot air around you. You have one task - jump to the other side. Just breath, gather strength and courage. Bounce and let chop into small pieces of flesh and bones. I feel the same while listening to the debut of Finnish death grinder GALVANIZER. The gentlemen are bringing a total massacre of the human mind wrapped in bloody bandages this year. Around me floats an atmosphere full of death, darkness and endless suffering. The album cuts like a freshly sharpened machete.


If you listen to the album more carefully, you will definitely find a lot of the same points with bands like MACHETAZO, XYSMA, ABHORRENCE, HAEMORRHAGE and many other maniacs who combine musical violence, death metal, grind and bloody bits of dirt. I kept my record every time in my head with great taste. It has let me out of today's corrupt world and has confirmed that old school sound is the true morbid passion. Do not look for anything good at GALVANIZER, you only get sick with a devastating vocal and you feel the decomposing body. The novelty is a great surprise for me. Break my head, light up my coffin! I will listen to this record again and again. Great devastating experience!
