Vracel jsem se domů a pršelo. Za chvíli bude půlnoc a za hřbitovní zdí jsem zaslechl nějaký divný zvuk. Občas tam zahlédnu vykradače hrobů, někdy zase mladé metalisty, jak popíjejí. Jenže tentokrát to bylo úplně něco jiného. Skřeky, mumlání, syčení, praskání starých kostí. Najednou stála přímo proti mě. Zrůda, bestie, která přišla z temnoty. Toužila po krvi, smrděla sírou a zkaženým masem. Už jsem ji někdy viděl. Už jsem ji někdy potkal. Ve svých zlých snech, které mě již dlouhou dobu pronásledují.
Němečtí black death metalisté GOATH jsou oddáni temnotě již od roku 2015. Letošní album "III: Shaped By The Unlight" je třetím dlouhohrajícím rituálem a nutno rovnou dodat, že velmi povedeným. Stačilo několik poslechů a ihned jsem věděl, že s touhle kapelou strávím dlouhé hodiny v podsvětí. Nakrmili jsme spolu bestii, poklonili se Satanovi a hlavně si užili hudbu, která vás prokleje.
Muziku obsaženou na desce "III: Shaped By The Unlight" lze přirovnat ke klasickým americkým death metalovým kapelám (POSSESSED, VITAL REMAINS, ACHERON) i severským black metalistům (MAYHEM, IMPALED NAZARENE). Němcům se povedlo na výbornou zachovat ducha starých metalových kapel. Velkou zásluhu má na tom prašivý zvuk, tematicky laděný obal, ale hlavně jednotlivé motivy. Každá skladba je samostatným rituálem smrti, dohromady potom tvoří celek, který mokvá a pálí. GOATH vzali různé dostupné ingredience, zakopali je ve staré rakvi, aby je před vydáním novinky exhumovali. Nahrávka má potřebnou prašivou patinu. Je velmi dobře složena. Album se pro mě stalo každodenní večerní seancí. Na nakresleném pentagramu zářily do noci svíce. Kapky krve dopadaly na oltář. Hudba graduje, už vím, proč se bestie probudila. Je to díky prokletým modlitbám i muzice, obsažené na "III: Shaped By The Unlight". Peklo vydalo další bolestivé svědectví o temnotě. Tentokrát si říká GOATH nepomáhají na něj žádné modlitby, ani svěcená voda. Obraťte všechny kříže směrem dolů, tohle je starý poctivý black death metal! Rituál smrti, bestie se probudila! Touží po krvi. Skvělá deska.

She longed for blood, smelled of brimstone and rotten flesh. I've seen her before. I've met her before. In their bad dreams, which have been haunting me for a long time.
German black death metallers GOATH have been dedicated to darkness since 2015. This year's album "III: Shaped By The Unlight" is the third long-playing ritual and it must be added that it is very successful. Just a few listenings and I knew right away that I would spend long hours in the underworld with this band. We fed the beast together, bowed to Satan, and most of all enjoyed the music that would curse you.
The music on "III: Shaped By The Unlight" can be compared to classic American death metal bands (POSSESSED, VITAL REMAINS, ACHERON) and Nordic black metalists (MAYHEM, IMPALED NAZARENE). The Germans managed to preserve the spirit of the old metal bands. The dusty sound, the thematically tuned cover, but mainly the individual motifs have a great deal of credit for that. Each song is a separate death ritual, then together they form a whole that is wet and burning. The GOATH took the various ingredients available, buried them in an old coffin to exhume them before the news was released. The recording has the necessary dusty patina. It is very well composed. The album became a daily evening session for me. Candles shone into the night on the drawn pentagram. Drops of blood fell on the altar. The music is graduating, I already know why the beast woke up. It's thanks to the cursed prayers and the music contained in "III: Shaped By The Unlight". Hell gave another painful testimony of darkness. This time he says GOATH no prayers or holy water help him. Turn all the crosses down, this is old honest black death metal! Death ritual, the beast has awakened! He longs for blood. Great album.
