Když jsem jako mladý četl staré autory sci-fi, představoval jsem si současný svět jako inteligentní civilizaci, která se bude mít díky novým technologiím velmi dobře. Myslel jsem si, že budu jezdit na dovolenou na Měsíc a místo mě budou pracovat roboti. Nevím, kde se stala chyba, ale poslední roky mi připadá, že nás spíše obejmula temnota z vesmíru. Možná jsem se kdysi já i páni spisovatelé mýlili a čeká nás už jenom tma, války a nekonečné utrpení. Než se tak ale stane, můžeme si pustit nahrávky, jako je ta od amerických maniaků XOTH.
Jedná se o moderněji pojatý metal, ve kterém lze vystopovat prvky thrashe, deathu, blacku, ale i spoustu technických a lehce progresivních pasáží. Výsledný koktejl je velmi neklidný, zvláštní a zajímavý. Kapela vás vezme na výlet do jiných dimenzí. A dělá to velmi elegantně a zkušeně.
Abyste jejich novinku "Exogalactic" pochopili, je nutné si hned na začátku ujasnit, že se nejedná o dnes tolik častou kopii věcí minulých. Pánové sice čerpají v metalové historii, ale vše kombinují a spojují tak, že výsledkem jsou velmi zajímavé kompozice. Na své si tak přijdou fanoušci třeba takových DISSECTION, REVOCATION, DEATH, EMPEROR, BAL-SAGOTH, VOIVOD, VEKTOR. Zvuk i obal jsou v pořádku a vy se tak můžete soustředit na hudbu samotnou. Výsledný koktejl bude možná pro někoho zpočátku méně stravitelný, ale doporučuji dát nahrávce čas. Po nějaké době vyniknou jednotlivé nuance a vše se usadí. Budete se vznášet, létat vesmírem a když na vás zaútočí vetřelci, tak jim pustíte tuhle nahrávku a oni se přidají na vaši stranu. Je to svým způsobem zvláštní, neotřelá muzika, kterou když pochopíte, tak se vám doslova zadře pod kůži. Alespoň já jsem to tak měl. Novinka je pestrá a opravdu zajímavá. Je to jízda, od začátku až do konce. Kapela vám nedá vydechnout. Možná jsme opravdu nakonec jenom druh, určený k vyhubení. V závěru je to asi jedno. Myslím si, že podobné desky, jako je "Exogalactic", tu zůstanou i po apokalypse. Budou zakonzervovány a uloženy pro další, snad lepší druhy, které jednou naší planetu osídlí. Jedná se přesně o hudbu, kterou je lepší poslouchat, než o ní psát. Má slova totiž nestačí. Thrash, black death metalové šílenství! Temné fantazie z vesmíru!

When I read the old science fiction authors when I was young, I imagined the current world as an intelligent civilization that would do very well thanks to new technologies. I thought I'd be going on holiday to the moon and robots would be working in my place. I don't know where the mistake was made, but in recent years it seems to me that we have been rather embraced by the darkness of space. Maybe I and the writers were wrong once upon a time, and all that awaits us is darkness, wars and endless suffering. But before that happens, we can listen to records like this one from American maniacs XOTH.
This is a more modern metal, in which we can trace elements of thrash, death, black metal, but also a lot of technical and slightly progressive passages. The resulting cocktail is very restless, strange and interesting. The band takes you on a trip to other dimensions. And it does it in a very elegant and experienced way.
In order to understand their new release "Exogalactic", it is necessary to clarify from the very beginning that it is not a copy of things past that are so common nowadays. Although the gentlemen draw on metal history, they combine and combine everything in such a way that the result is very interesting compositions. Fans of such bands as DISSECTION, REVOCATION, DEATH, EMPEROR, BAL-SAGOTH, VOIVOD, VEKTOR will find it to their liking. The sound and the cover are fine and you can concentrate on the music itself. The resulting cocktail may be less digestible for some at first, but I recommend giving the recording time. After some time, the nuances will stand out and everything will settle down. You'll be floating, flying through space, and when the aliens attack you, you play this recording and they'll join your side. It's a strange, novel music in its own way, and when you understand it, it literally gets under your skin. At least I did. The novelty is varied and really interesting. It's a ride, from beginning to end. The band won't let you breathe a sigh of relief. Maybe we really are just a species destined for extinction after all. In the end, I guess it doesn't matter. I think records like "Exogalactic" are here to stay after the apocalypse. They'll be preserved and saved for the next, hopefully better species that will one day inhabit our planet. This is exactly the kind of music that is better to listen to than to write about. Because my words are not enough. Thrash, black death metal madness! Dark fantasies from outer space!
