Probouzím se uprostřed noci, abych nakonec vždy skončil na stejném pohřebišti. Něco mě sem podvědomě stále láká. Hledám za zvuků debutového alba chilských UTTERTOMB své vlastní krvavé kořeny. Otvírám staré hrobky, nasávám pach zatuchlých a rozkládajících se těl. Procházím se mezi náhrobky a čtu si nápisy na hrobech. Na jednom je i mé jméno. Otevírám prázdnou rakev a uléhám do ní. Moc dobře totiž vím, že tohle album mě převede na druhou stranu, na onen svět.
Jedná se o hrubý, surový smrtící kov, který je inspirován dlouhými stíny podsvětí. Nemrtví mi dávají jasně najevo, že se jim nové album líbí. Nedivím se, je až po okraj narvané morbidními melodiemi, zničující atmosférou a smrdí sírou. Tady se hraje pro všechny prokleté, pro fanoušky opravdových pohřbů do země.
Kapela, která datuje svoje počátku až do roku 2009 (tehdy ještě měli jméno ULTRATOMB), přistoupila ke své hrobnické práci velmi zodpovědně. Dala si velký pozor na zvuk, který se opravdu povedl. Je tajemný, masivní a nechává naplno vyniknout veškeré nápady, kterých je mimochodem na nahrávce velké množství. Líbí se mi i obal, který přesně vystihuje to, co se na desce odehrává. Krutá a ošklivá smrt, zahalená do krvavé mlhy. Pokud máte rádi kapely jako GRAVE MIASMA, INCANTATION, CRUCIAMENTUM, TEITANBLOOD, PSEUDOGOD, DEAD CONGREGATION, SONNE ADAM, mohla by se vám líbit i deska "Nebulas Of Self-Desecration". Bylo pro mě ctí prosévat prach z rozdrcených kostí, nasávat děsivé nálady. Vše je pokryté pavučinami a když postupně rozkryjete jednotlivé vrstvy, budete po zásluze odměněni doslova magickým zážitkem. Jedná se o starodávný obřad, o vyvolávání temných sil, o rituály, ve kterých bylo zničeno spousta životů. Způsob, jakým kapela hraje, jak na mě působí, je pro mě velmi návykový. Nejlépe se mi osvědčil poslech v hluboké noci nebo brzy ráno, když bylo možné potkat mezi hroby démony. Album se valí kupředu a zůstává po něm hluboká krvavá stopa. Nelze jinak, než doporučit všem tmářům, všem, kteří jako já kdysi dávno propadli temnotě. Mám pocit, jakoby mě někdo chytil do pevných, studených pavučin. Postupně mě dusí, utahuje kolem mě oprátku. I wake up in the middle of the night to end up in the same burial ground every time. Something subconsciously keeps drawing me here. I search for my own bloody roots to the sounds of the debut album of Chilean UTTERTOMB. I open old tombs, I take in the smell of stale and decaying bodies. I walk among the tombstones and read the inscriptions on the graves. One of them has my name on it. I open the empty coffin and lie down in it. I know very well that this album will take me to the other side, to the other world.
It's rough, raw death metal inspired by the long shadows of the underworld. The undead are letting me know they like the new album. I'm not surprised, it's packed to the brim with morbid melodies, devastating atmosphere and reeks of brimstone. Here's playing for all the damned, for fans of true burial in the ground.
The band, which dates its origins back to 2009 (back then they still had the name ULTRATOMB), has approached their gravedigging work very responsibly. They paid a lot of attention to the sound, which was really good. It's mysterious, massive and lets all the ideas, which by the way there are a lot of on the record, come out to the full. I also like the cover art, which accurately describes what is happening on the record. A cruel and ugly death, shrouded in a bloody mist. If you like bands such as GRAVE MIASMA, INCANTATION, CRUCIAMENTUM, TEITANBLOOD, PSEUDOGOD, DEAD CONGREGATION, SONNE ADAM, you might also like "Nebulas Of Self-Desecration". It was an honour to sift the dust of crushed bones, to soak up the eerie moods. Everything is covered in cobwebs and when you gradually unravel the layers, you will be deservedly rewarded with a literally magical experience. This is an ancient ceremony, a summoning of dark forces, a ritual in which many lives have been destroyed. The way the band plays, the way they affect me, is very addictive to me. The best listening for me was in the dead of night or early in the morning, when it was possible to meet demons among the graves. The album rolls forward and leaves a deep trail of blood. I can't help but recommend it to all the darkies, to all those who, like me, fell into the darkness long ago. I feel like I've been caught in a tight, cold web. Gradually suffocating me, tightening the noose around me. I wake up in the middle of the night, only to end up in the same graveyard. Something subconsciously keeps drawing me here.
