Vše kolem pomalu umírá. Listí padá ze stromů a křupe mi pod nohama. Našlapuji tiše a v kostech cítím chlad. Někdy v této době, mezi západem slunce a přicházejícími stíny, vynikne doom metal nejlépe. Poslední dobou rád a často mizím do lesů za naším domem. Jsem tichým pozorovatelem, posluchačem, který čím je starší, tím cítí víc pokory. K přírodě, k obyčejným věcem, k nebi, které zase pláče. EXTREME COLD WINTER a jejich letošní deska se stali mojí součástí tak nějak samozřejmě.
Odlesky na hladině jezera, mrtvé zvíře, které leží u cesty a jeho němý pohled žaluje. Chce se mi zmizet ve stínech a nasávám pach rozkládajícího se masa. Dlouhé, táhlé melodie, mráz a nekonečný smutek. Holanďané mají doom a death metal v krvi. Není divu, členové kapely hráli i ve skupinách jako BEYOND BELIEF, OFFICIUM TRISTE, SEVERE TORTURE, CENTURIAN.
Stále si myslím, že tenhle styl musí člověk hrát srdcem. Není jednoduché zhudebnit smutek, není jednoduché přenést tklivé emoce do skladeb. EXTREME COLD WINTER se to myslím povedlo na výbornou. Ze songů cítím velkou sílu, možná také nasbíranou v přírodě, ukládající se k zimnímu spánku. "World Exit" ale není jen vybroušeným stylovým drahokamem, je také albem, ze kterého sálá na všechny strany vášeň a samozřejmě beznaděj a spočinutí. Klasické, tradiční postupy jsou okořeněny vlastní invencí, spoustou nápadů a touhou nás pohřbít. Občas se musím zastavit, možná jsem zahlédl přízrak. Mám rád muziku, které mě dokáže rozjitřit, zasáhnout, kterou když si pustím, tak ve mě zanechá stopu. Holanďané mají skvělý studený zvuk, obal, na který se dokážu dívat dlouhou dobu a pořád na něm objevovat něco nového. Myslím si, že tuláci po podzimních lesích i fanoušci třeba takových WINTER, PARADISE LOST, HOODED MENACE, DISEMBOWELMENT budou nadšeni a spokojeni jako já. Pokaždé končím svoji cestu na starém hřbitově, kam už dávno nikdo nechodí. Nahnuté náhrobky, mrtví se už proměnili v plesnivý prach. Nahrávka, místo i stav mé mysli se propojili v jedno. V úžasný zážitek. Doom death metalový křišťál, opracovaný k dokonalosti!

I like music that can make me angry, hit me, which, if I play it, leaves a mark on me. The Dutch have a great cold sound, a cover that I can look at for a long time and always discover something new on it. I think that wanderers in the autumn forests and fans of such WINTER, PARADISE LOST, HOODED MENACE, DISEMBOWELMENT will be as excited and satisfied as I am. I always end my journey in the old cemetery, where no one goes for a long time. Inclined tombstones, the dead had already turned to moldy dust. The recording, the place and the state of my mind were combined into one - in an amazing experience. Doom death metal crystal, worked to perfection!
Většina byla pochována v klidu a pokoji, jak se patří. Existují ale prokleté hroby, které když exhumujete, tak jste i po mnoha letech šokováni násilím, kterého jsou lidé schopni. Ne, tohle nejsou žádné narychlo zasypané díry v zemi z války, ale oběti násilných činů. Zpřelámané kosti, prostřelené lebky, pozůstatky mučení a nenávisti. Pokaždé mám pocit, jakoby mrtví šeptali, naříkali, žalovali.
Takovou exhumací dávných časů je i nová deska maniaků PUTREVORE. Kapela složená ze zkušených hrobníků nás opět vzala na nechutný a ošklivý výlet do míst, kde to smrdí strachem, bolestí a starým, prašivým death metalem.
Na ten pocit, když sáhnete na svoji první mrtvolu, asi nikdy nezapomenete. S pravým, ryzím death metalem je to hodně podobné. Stačí si novou desku "Miasmal Monstrosity" několikrát poslechnout a hned víte, že jste zde správně. Těžký, masivní a plesnivý zvuk. Ostré riffy mistra Roggy Johanssona a vokál bestie (Dave Rotten). Nic nového v podzemí, řeknete si možná, ale nenechte se mýlit, u téhle desky praskají víka od rakví. Má v sobě tlak, pradávnou sílu, temnou energii. Vezme vás na opuštěný hřbitov, na kterém byli vždy pohřbíváni jenom prokletí. Také cítíte ten odér devadesátých let minulého století? Tenkrát se v tomhle hudebním stylu pohřbívalo zásadně do země. Album působí chladně, morbidně, ošklivě. Fanoušci třeba takových DISMA, ADRAMELECH, FUNEBRE, FUNEBRARUM, INCANTATION, ROTTREVORE, BOLT THROWER (ale i surové švédské školy), budou určitě spokojeni jako já. Podobné exhumace v sobě totiž pořád obsahují všechny potřebné ingredience pro opravdový zážitek ze smrti. Stará, prašivá, death metalová choroba, u které shnijete zaživa!

“Be For Oss Alle” is the new album from SON OF A SHOTGUN, the off-shot Southern death/grind band let by guitar player Ivan “Meathook” Gujic, well-known for his role as the guitar player of Norwegian death metal gods Blood Red Throne. The record was produced in Meathook Studios, being mixed and mastered by Cryptopsy’s Christian Donaldson. Ivan states “We as a band are extremely fired up! Taking our music and talent to a new level. A big hellyeah goes to Emanzipation for working with Son Of A Shotgun”.
Son Of A Shotgun started in 2015 in Norway, Kristiansand, by the mind & hand of the guitar player Ivan Meathook Gujic of Norway’s meanest death metal band Blood Red Throne. SOAS started as a one-man band, with Meathook serving as the songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. The debut album “Mexican Standoff”, released in 2017, featured Jan Axel Blomberg “Hellhammer” (Mayhem, Acturus), Damege Karlsen (Breed, Chrome Division), and Maurice Adams (Breed, Motorfinger).
After the release of “The Mexican Standoff” Meathook kicked off a Norwegian tour, covering all the biggest cities and headlining the Southern Discomfort festival. In their touring, SOAS even played with Cannibal Corpse and made a documentary of it. 2018 was the year of the SOAS zombie squad. The project turned to a full line-up, with some of the best extreme musicians in Norway. The mind-blowing debut of the band happened in Oslo in 2019. Fully uniformed, war-painted. A military precision gig.
Když jsme začali rozplétat příběh tohoto zohaveného těla, opět jsme narazili na víru. Ve jménu pravdy a odpuštění bylo mučeno, poníženo a stalo se němou výčitkou všem prokletým. Uctíváme dávno padlé modly, poklekáme před sochami masových vrahů. Historia magistra vitae dávno neplatí, stačí se ohlédnout zpět. Jsme nepoučitelní, stále v sobě máme kus zvířete, které nedovedeme zkrotit. Cloumá námi nenávist a rovni jsme si nakonec jenom ve smrti.
Možná právě proto poslouchám death metal. Potřebuji ze sebe dostat večerní zprávy o stavu světa, nechutné příspěvky plné jedu, které potkávám všude kolem i setkání se špatnými hloupými lidmi. "Imperial Congregation" je přesně tím druhem alba, díky kterému mám tenhle šílený a temný styl tolik rád. Obsahuje v sobě velké množství chladu, je surové a melodické zároveň. Navíc je dávkováno přesně potřebné množství energie, díky kterému si máte touhu rozdrásat obličej do krve. BLOOD RED THRONE opět jasně a zřetelně potvrzují, že jsou velmi originální skupinou. Málokdo má takový cit pro melodie a zdravý vztek jako oni.
"Imperial Congregation" je albem, které je postaveno na pevných old school death metalových základech. Přidány jsou kousky syrového masa, mrazivých momentů. Jako starý pes oceňuji práci, jakou si dala kapela se zvukem, obalem, fanoušci dostali opravdu krásný kousek muziky. Na desce se potkávají zkušenosti a talent. Skladby drží perfektně pohromadě, je pro mě hrozně příjemné jen tak poslouchat a alespoň na chvíli zapomenout na ošklivý svět venku. Radost z hraní jako takového, touha ničit, přenést hudbou poselství o zlých věcech, kterých je schopen jako druh pouze člověk, tohle všechno dělá z nahrávky výborný zážitek. Fascinuje mě lehkost, samozřejmost, s jakou kolem mě songy utíkají. Zanechávají na mém těle hluboké krvavé šrámy. Občas zazní techničtější riff nebo až někam k black metalu hozený vokál a jsou to právě tyto okamžiky, které dělají z BLOOD RED THRONE v podstatě dokonalý stroj na zabíjení. Je slyšet, že pánové nad muzikou přemýšleli. Zároveň si zachovali tolik důležitý drive a černou jiskru. Až zase jednou budeš muset pokleknout před mrtvým bohem, tak se zvedni a pusť "Imperial Congregation" pořádně nahlas. Není nutné řezat do vlastního těla, ani si nechat všechno líbit. Lepší je poslouchat podobná alba. Mají v sobě totiž úplně vše - touhu, vášeň, nenávist, strach i smrt. Temný, chladný, k dokonalosti vybroušený death metalový diamant!

"Imperial Congregation" is exactly the kind of album that makes me like this crazy and dark style so much. It contains a lot of cold, is raw and melodic at the same time. In addition, the exact amount of energy is dosed, thanks to which you have the desire to scratch your face into the blood. BLOOD RED THRONE once again clearly and unequivocally confirm that they are a very original group. Few people have such a feeling for melodies and healthy anger as they do.
"Imperial Congregation" is an album that is built on solid old school death metal foundations. Pieces of raw meat, freezing moments are added. As an old dog, I appreciate the work that the band did with the sound, the cover, the fans got a really beautiful piece of music. Experience and talent meet on the record. They hold the songs perfectly together, it's very nice for me to just listen and forget about the ugly world outside, at least for a while. The joy of playing as such, the desire to destroy, to convey through music the message of evil things, which only a person is capable of as a species, all this makes the recording an excellent experience. I am fascinated by the lightness, the obviousness with which the songs run around me. They leave deep bloody scars on my body. Sometimes there is a more technical riff or vocals thrown to black metal, and it is these moments that make the BLOOD RED THRONE basically the perfect killing machine. It can be heard that the gentlemen were thinking about music. At the same time, they retained such an important drive and black spark. Once again you have to kneel before a dead god, get up and play the "Imperial Congregation" really loud. It is not necessary to cut into your own body, nor do you like everything. It is better to listen to similar albums. They have everything in them - desire, passion, hatred, fear and death. A dark, cool, perfectly cut death metal diamond!
Někdy mi stačí jenom nadzvednout víko od rakve a vím, že jsem tu správně. Podle stupně rozkladu těla a několika pár tónů dokážu za ty dlouhé roky poslechu death metalu poznat, zda se mám o kapelu vůbec dál zajímat. INFESTED jsou srdcaři ze starých časů. Kapela, která je v tom nejhlubším americkém undergroundu. Právě podobné smečky mě baví poslední roky objevovat asi nejvíc. Pánové přicházejí se svým prvním EP. A příliš informací o nich zjistit nejde.
Představte si, že jste znovu v devadesátých letech, smrt je ještě opravdovou smrtí a pohřby do země jsou samozřejmostí. Protože si mladý, tak je svět ještě v pořádku. Tak přesně do těchto starých katakomb patří i album "Grotesque Remains". EP, které je shnilé jako ruka rozkládající se mrtvoly. Červy se kroutí do rytmu, z lebky vylezl had. Vítejte v záhrobí!
Když si to vezmu kolem a kolem, tak jsem za svůj život poslouchat spoustu různých stylů, měl mysl otevřenou a snažil vždy přistupovat k muzice pozitivně. Jenže znáte to, doma v hrobce, je doma v hrobce. V běžném životě jsem myslím veselý, ale co se týká death metalu, tak ten mám rád přesně takový, jako jej hrají INFESTED. Starý, ošklivý, mokvající, prašivý a nechutný. A je mi tak nějak úplně jedno, že se dnes poslouchá úplně něco jiného. Pořád si myslím, že chorobný zvuk, ostré kytary a hrubý vokál jsou zárukou kvality, když se to umí. "Grotesque Remains" je zkrátka stylovka, možná pro někoho nic nového, ani překvapivého, ale pro mě, jako pro člověka, který se před lety rozhodl old school death metal podporovat, je doslova povinnou mantrou. Duše zemřelých vědí dávno své, nepotřebují stejně jako kapely nikomu nic dokazovat. Hrají od srdce, opravdově, pro fanoušky jako jsem já. Koneckonců, hlavní je, že kosti praskají, zombie lezou z děr a nemrtví si podupávají do rytmu. Co na tom, že jim odpadávají tkáně? Zvuk, obal, texty o vetřelcích, vše je stylové a uvěřitelné. Nějak mě poslední dobou nebaví umělé a dokonalé současné skupiny (ale to vlastně vždycky). Já raději kus syrového masa. Shnilé ozvěny ze záhrobí!

The sound is perfectly treated, the cover art reflects its formation in the catacombs and it is unnecessary to speak about the ideas. Ideas are like cut out from the beginning of the nineties. Purulence splatter everywhere around and I remember along with the band on the beginnings of the style called Death.
"Grotesque Remains" is like a mirror for all bad things, events, which happened in your whole life. It is like an echo from the old times inspired by the European and also primarily American death metal school. Musicians have a big sense for cold and sharp melodies. The album is like a mouldy hand of the rotten corpse. I collect the bones into the sightly heaps. I spend a lot of time with the INFESTED in the ossuary. I like to be here with the corpses. I like to inhale the atmosphere of the decomposing bodies; to enjoy the dark and foggy mood. I gradually add the volume and greet the ghosts from the old times. My ears and my heart are directed to the real and honest death metal for long years. "Grotesque Remains" is a confirmation for me that our morbid world didn’t burn down yet. Amerian musicians released the great album, which reminds me of a mouldy coffin full of the old memories on the death metal. I have irresistible impulse to engrave the band's logo with the knife into my skin! Great record! I met my own Death! Rotten echoes from the graveyard!
