Když se rozhlédnu kolem sebe a zamyslím se nad dnešním světem, tak mě doslova prostoupí temné vize. Jakoby démoni z dávných časů povstali a snažili se za pomocí moderní techniky všechno zničit. Brzy nastane konec civilizace, napadá mě často. Postupné ničení všeho, co dlouhé generace našich předků vybudovali. Falešné informace, kterých je obrovské množství, hledání pravdy a světla je čím dál tím těžší. Jsou ale ještě oblasti, ve kterých je svět v pořádku. Ano, mluvím o hudbě.

Němečtí PROFANITY mě provází už od roku 1997, kdy vydali svoji první dlouhohrající album ("Shadows to Fall"). Stejně jako já si od devadesátých let (kapela působí na scéně od roku 1993) pánové svůj hudební vkus vypilovali k dokonalosti. Neznám nic lepšího a příjemnějšího (navíc v dnešním jedovatém prostředí), než si pustit podobnou desku, jako letošní "Fragments of Solace". Němci na ní opět dokazují, že jsou mistry ve svém oboru.

Již při prvním poslechu "Fragments of Solace" jsem si připadal, jakoby mi někdo hodil do rukou kus rozžhaveného železa. PROFANITY jdou na hranu, nebojí se experimentovat, rádi přesahují hranice nemožného. Zachovávají si původní tvrdost a syrovost klasického brutálního death metalu, ale navíc dodávají velké množství koření v podobě melodických sól, morbidní nálady a chladu. Jsou jako perfektně seřízený stroj na zabíjení. Své kořeny stylově sice nezapřou (SUFFOCATION, MORTAL DECAY, DYING FETUS), ale nadále je rozvíjejí. Album je tak určeno spíše pro lidi s fantazií, pro fanoušky, kteří se nebojí složitosti a košatosti skladeb. Někdy bývám rozčílený z dění kolem mě, z televizních zpráv, z hlouposti internetových hrdinů a je hrozně příjemné nasadit na hlavu sluchátka a naplno se ponořit do oblasti, ve které se pohybují PROFANITY. Letošní nahrávka je pro mě únikem ze všech špatností, které se dějí kolem. Záchranným lanem v podobě totálně devastujícího technického a brutálního death metalu. Hlavním znakem je zde perfekcionismus, zároveň ale pánové nezapomínají i na jasnou a přehlednou strukturu skladeb. Výsledek je vynikající, živý, zničující. Novinka se skvěle poslouchá a přináší s sebou i bonusy navíc. Někdy mám sto chutí vyrvat své vnitřnosti z těla. Popadá mě zdravá naštvanost. "Fragments of Solace" v sobě obsahuje podobné ingredience. Je to poctivý, ryzí kus odvedené práce, precizního řemesla, které nelze hodnotit jinak, než velmi vysoko. Absolutní devastace lidské mysli!

For this release the band invited again guests like Terrance Hobbs (Suffocation), Matt Sotelo (Decrepit Birth), Dave Suzuki (ex-Vital Remains, Churchburn), Dima Orlov (Fetal Decay) as well as their ex-bassist Martl Bauer. “Fragments of Solace” was mixed and mastered by Lukas Haidinger in his Deep Deep Pressure studios. The artwork was done by Federico Musetti.

When I look around and think about today's world, dark visions literally permeate me. It is as if the demons from ancient times arose and tried to destroy everything with the help of modern technology. The end of civilization is coming soon, often seems to me. The gradual destruction of everything that generations of our ancestors have built for a long time. There is a growing amount of false information, the search for truth and light. But there are still areas where the world is fine. Yes, I'm talking about music.

German PROFANITY has been with me since 1997, when they released their first full-length album ("Shadows to Fall"). Like me, since the 1990s (the band has been active on the scene since 1993), the gentlemen have honed their musical tastes to perfection. I don't know anything better and more pleasant (moreover, in today's poisonous environment) than playing a record similar to this year's "Fragments of Solace". The Germans are once again proving that they are masters in their craft.

Even when I first listened to "Fragments of Solace", I felt as if someone had thrown a piece of red-hot iron into my hands. PROFANITY go to the edge, they are not afraid to experiment, they like to go beyond the limits of the impossible. They retain the original hardness and rawness of classic brutal death metal, but they also supply a large amount of spices in the form of melodic solos, morbid mood and cold. They are like a perfectly tuned killing machine. Although they do not deny their roots in style (SUFFOCATION, MORTAL DECAY, DYING FETUS), they continue to develop them. The album is intended more for people with imagination, for fans who are not afraid of the complexity and ruggedness of the songs. Sometimes I get upset about what's going on around me, the TV news, the stupidity of the internet heroes, and it's very nice to put headphones on my head and fully immerse yourself in the area where PROFANITIES move. For me, this year's recording is an escape from all the evils that are happening around. A lifeline in the form of a totally devastating technical and brutal death metal. The main feature here is perfectionism, but at the same time the gentlemen do not forget the clear and well-arranged structure of the compositions. The result is excellent, lively, devastating. The novelty is great to listen to and brings even extra bonuses. Sometimes I feel like tearing my guts out of my body. I find healthy anger. "Fragments of Solace" contains similar ingredients. It is an honest, pure piece of work, a precise craft that cannot be evaluated other than very high. Absolute devastation of the human mind!
