Polští tmáři letos přicházejí s další porcí rouhání. Tentokrát v trošku drsnější podobě. Zachovávají si stále svoji děsivou tvář, vše je vyhlazené k dokonalosti, mají vlastní rukopis. Nergal a jeho věrní si myslí, že Bůh chodí na záchod a běžná metalová veřejnost z toho bude v šoku. Opět dostanete velmi propracovanou porci majestátních melodií, nahrubo nasekanou tmu a strašidelně děsivou atmosféru. Pokud jste poslední roky někdy navštívili nějaký jejich koncert, tak věřte, že i na novém albu si zachovávají majestátnost.

Mnozí budou hovořit o tom, že tentokrát jsou BEHEMOTH syrovější, že je to větší nářez, než předchozí dle mého nepříliš povedené album. A budou mít svým způsobem pravdu. Osobně jsem sice jejich svět už dávno opustil a spíše mě jejich hudba nedělá dobře, ale musím uznat, že si stále drží svoji kvalitu. Tohle je ale už kapela na velká pódia, na obří festivaly. Poláci si svoji slávu užívají zaslouženě, o tom není pochyb. Neznám pracovitější muzikanty. Jenom jde jejich hudba už dávno mimo mě. Vlastně by se dalo napsat, že to s nimi mám nastavené úplně stejně jako s jejich kolegy HATE.

Dovedu pochopit, že bude nové album "The Shit ov God" opět okupovat přední místa ve velkých lesklých metalových časopisech. Ona je totiž novinka opravdu chytře napsána, složena, produkována. Se vším, co k tomu patří. Zvuk, který řeže a zároveň neurazí, promo fotky dotažené k dokonalosti. Skvělé výkony jednotlivých muzikantů (Inferno je stále bubenický ďábel). Jen mi přijdou BEHEMOTH možná až příliš hodní. Novinka má samozřejmě kýženou atmosféru, těch chladných nálad a motivů je opravdu spousta, mnohé z vás nová nahrávka určitě chytne a nepustí. Budete se k ní rádi vracet. Osobně jsem ale naši společnou cestu opustil na jednom z koncertů, kdy mi v obličeji přistála černá konfeta. Songům nelze upřít typická jedovatost. Jedná se opět o mocný a velikášsky pojatý obřad pro vyvolávání temných sil. Pro mě jsou ale společná setkání spíše nudná, než cokoliv jiného. Chybí mi živočišnost, špína, drive a hniloba. Býval jsem velký fanoušek alb jako je "Evangelion". Potom se naše cesty rozešly. Samozřejmě, BEHEMOTH pro mě bývala velká modla, od které jsem měl celou jejich diskografii. Pokaždé, když má od nich vyjít něco nového, tak stále vylézám ze své hrobky, abych zkusil, jestli mě bude jejich nový směr bavit. Bohužel (a je to jen a jen můj problém), se mnou jejich muzika nic nedělá. Pokud se vám ale novější desky líbily, budete určitě spokojeni. Užijte si to. Já už jsem ale dávno někde úplně jinde. Zkrátka a dobře, ono je to všechno vlastně hrozně dobré. Jen mě to nebaví. Je mi to až hloupé, člověk by se snad i omluvil, ale nic s tím neudělám. Na mě je nové album zkrátka moc velikášské, precizní, neosobní a hodné. Možná bych se nebál napsat i prázdné. Ale co, hudby vychází velké množství. Poohlédnu se jinde. Mocný, majestátní black death metal, který vystraší všechny jeptišky.

This year the Polish darkies are coming up with another portion of blasphemy. This time in a slightly harsher form. They still keep their scary face, everything is smoothed to perfection, they have their own handwriting. Nergal and his faithful think God goes to the toilet and the regular metal public will be shocked. Once again you get a very elaborate serving of majestic melodies, coarsely chopped darkness and a hauntingly eerie atmosphere. If you've been to one of their shows in recent years, you better believe they maintain the majesty on the new album.

Many will talk about how BEHEMOTH are more raw this time around, that it's more of a blast than the previous in my opinion not so good album. And they will be right in a way. Personally, I have left their world a long time ago, and I am rather uncomfortable with their music, but I have to admit that they still keep their quality. But this is already a band for big stages, for giant festivals. Poles enjoy their fame deservedly, no doubt about it. I don't know any harder working musicians. It's just that their music has long since passed me by. In fact, you could write that I have the same setup with them as with their colleagues HATE.

I can understand that the new album "The Shit ov God" will again occupy the top places in the big glossy metal magazines. She is really cleverly written, composed, produced. With everything that goes with it. A sound that both cuts and doesn't offend, promo photos perfected to perfection. Great performances by each musician (Inferno is still a drumming devil). I just find BEHEMOTH maybe a bit too good. Of course, the new album has the desired atmosphere, there are a lot of those cool moods and motifs, many of you will definitely catch the new record and won't let go. You will be happy to come back to it. Personally, however, I left our journey together at one of the concerts when a black confetti landed in my face. The songs can't be denied their typical venomousness. Again, this is a powerful and grandiose ritual for invoking dark forces. But I find communal gatherings more boring than anything else. I miss the animalism, the filth, the drive and the rot. I used to be a big fan of albums like "Evangelion". Then we went our separate ways. Of course, BEHEMOTH used to be a big idol for me and I had their entire discography. Every time something new is supposed to come out from them, I still come out of my crypt to try and see if I'm into their new direction. Unfortunately (and this is entirely my problem), their music does nothing for me. But if you've liked the newer albums, you'll be pleased. Enjoy. I've been somewhere else for a long time now, though. In short, it's all actually pretty damn good. I'm just not enjoying it. It's almost stupid, you could apologize, but I can't do anything about it. For me the new album is simply too grand, precise, impersonal and worthy. Maybe I wouldn't be afraid to write empty. But whatever, there's a lot of music coming out. I'll look elsewhere. Powerful, majestic black death metal that will scare the bejesus out of nuns.
