Pod nohama mi křupou lehce zmrzlé kousky spadaného listí. Podzim pomalu přichází a příroda kolem mě postupně utichá. Hladina temného horského jezera je zbarvená krví. Jakoby násilná smrt narušila přirozený koloběh. Bledá tvář s překvapeným výrazem. Ruce vznášející se jako křídla havranů na hladině. Bolest, utrpení, smutek, strach. Míchá se v tobě tisíc nálad, emocí a pocitů. Všechny jsou zabarvené do odstínů šedé a černé. Tenhle děsivý zážitek se ti vypálil do podvědomí a vyleze na povrch pokaždé, když se setkáš s podobně naladěnou hudbou.

Není žádným tajemstvím, že mám pro švédské tmáře RUNEMAGICK velkou slabost. S jejich tvorbou jsem se setkal poprvé kdysi dávno, na konci devadesátých let minulého století. Kapela mě provedla životem a každé nové album očekávám s napětím. Pod letošní novinkou je podepsán již jen Nicklas "Terror" Rudolfsson. Nutno rovnou doplnit, že kapela nijak neztratila na své uvěřitelnosti, intenzitě. Pokud jste na tom jako já, budete určitě spokojeni. Hladina horského jezera se zdá být stále křišťálově čistá. Dokud nevyplave na povrch další tělo.

Měl jsem tu čest udělat s kapelou rozhovor a napsat i několik dalších recenzi (odkazy naleznete dole pod dnešním článkem). I letos se jedná o zážitek, který se krásně morbidně hodí k nastávajícím podzimním dnům. Jakoby temnota dostala další rozměr. Smutné, táhlé doom metalové melodie, ale i ostrost death metalu, obojí namíchané ve vzájemném poměru. Vkusně, s elegancí a zkušenostmi starých mistrů. Velmi dobře čitelný zvuk, několik hostů, ale i třeba motiv na obalu, tohle všechno dělá z letošní nahrávky opravdu komplexní dílo. Hudba je to stará, prašivá, jako metal samotný. Přesto stále svěží, zajímavá, neotřelá. Přiznám se vám k jedné věci. Poslech jsem si opravdu nejvíc užíval v lesích, když se mi pomalu dostával do kostí chlad, když jsem se toulal po pěšinách, po kterých chodí jenom zvěř. Stal jsem se pomalu stínem, vnímal jsem sílu nového alba. Stalo se i mojí součástí. Mám to zkrátka v sobě takhle nastavené, poslouchám hlavně srdcem. Cítím zde pradávnou sílu opuštěných pohřebišť. I já jsem si nejvíc album "Cycle of the Dying Sun (Dawn of Ashen Realms)" užíval v ruinách rozpadlého, znesvěceného kostela. Je něco neklidného, zvláštního, přesto velmi přitažlivého, nebál bych se napsat i magického, co mě neustále přitahuje a nutí k dalším společným seancím. Obejmuly mě pevné pavučiny, upletené z těch nejlepších záhrobních ingrediencí. Tahle nahrávka má v sobě něco navíc, spoustu energie, tlaku, ale i smutku a bolesti. It's no secret that I have a soft spot for the Swedish dark metal band RUNEMAGICK. I first encountered their work a long time ago, at the end of the 1990s. The band has accompanied me through life, and I eagerly await each new album. Only Nicklas "Terror" Rudolfsson is credited on this year's new release. It should be added that the band has lost none of its credibility or intensity. If you're like me, you'll definitely be satisfied. The surface of the mountain lake still seems crystal clear. Until another body floats to the surface.

I had the honor of interviewing the band and writing several other reviews (links can be found below today's article). This year, it is once again an experience that fits beautifully and morbidly with the approaching autumn days. It is as if darkness has taken on another dimension. Sad, drawn-out doom metal melodies, but also the sharpness of death metal, both mixed in perfect proportion. Tastefully, with the elegance and experience of old masters. A very clear sound, several guests, but also the motif on the cover, all this makes this year's recording a truly complex work. The music is old, raw, like metal itself. Yet still fresh, interesting, original. I'll admit one thing to you. I really enjoyed listening to it most in the woods, when the cold was slowly getting into my bones, when I was wandering along paths that only animals walk on. I slowly became a shadow, I felt the power of the new album. It became a part of me. That's just how I'm wired, I listen mainly with my heart. I feel the ancient power of abandoned burial grounds here. I also enjoyed the album "Cycle of the Dying Sun (Dawn of Ashen Realms)" the most in the ruins of a dilapidated, desecrated church. There is something unsettling, strange, yet very attractive, I would even dare to say magical, that constantly draws me in and compels me to listen to it again and again. I was enveloped by solid cobwebs, woven from the finest ingredients of the afterlife. This recording has something extra, a lot of energy, pressure, but also sadness and pain.
